Story
I have been fostering Coco for a family member but they are no longer in the position to get her back and I can no longer care for her. Coco is a sweet puppy that loves to be held despite her size. She loves to snuggle and give kisses. She is very gentle and just wants to be close to you. She is potty training but she is doing great going out often.

Story
Sassy is approximately a 7 year old pitbull mix weighing about 60lbs. She is fully vaccinated and now looking for her forever family. She’s been with her foster mom and trainer Lilly now for 9 months. Can you believe she’s had zero applications?  Sassy loves people and loves to be close by and be pet. She’s loved to cuddle up on the couch or on her dog bed. She is easily entertained with bully sticks, benebones, and toys. She loves to sunbathe in the backyard and lay where ever the sun hits and will gladly accept a belly rub while doing so. She is crate trained, house trained, and sleeps quietly in the crate any time needed. She rides well in the car in a car kennel. She has a goofy personality with lots of silly behavior that will keep you laughing all day. She has done well with all the dogs she has met and been with.  She loves meal times and will come in from outside doing her "bunny hops". Look out for her classic "sassy" lip smack. She is very gentle when taking treats and knows most basic commands. She's doing well with bath time and grooming. She loves going for car rides and taking walks to sniff all the new smells. Car rides and walks are definitely high on her list of favorite things (besides snacks). She is also working on other commands like place, here, heel and wait. She does well passing other dogs and gets along well with other dogs in the house.  Sassy has high prey drive for small critters like rabbits or wildlife, so she would do best in a home with no cats and at least a 5 foot fence. While Sassy hasn't spent much 1 on 1 time with kids, her friendly nature suggests she would be good with them. She has done well passing play grounds and athletic fields. If you’re looking for an older, laid back dog, with a funny personality and sweet as could be, look no further. Sassy is eagerly waiting to finally call a place of her own “home”.  Sassy will also come with 4 free continued training sessions with dog trainer Lilly Staudt (with KeenDog training in Charlotte, NC) If you are interested in Sassy, please complete an adoption application at lastdaydogs.comNovember 6, 2024, 9:04 am

Story
Jax was adopted from us a little over a year ago, his adopter is relocating and she says she cannot take him with her - this is not his fault.  He initially had some behavioral issues and was a work in progress.  Jax is a 70 pound pit mix that is a ball of energy that loves to chase tennis balls and squirrels. Jax is house trained, crate trained, up-to-date with all his vaccines, and knows some basic commands like "sit", "down", and tries to "stay" but gets easily distracted.  With his trainer he behaves like a perfect gentleman on a leash, with his mom he gets too excited to listen. Currently he is living with cats in the house which he mostly ignores, he will sniff them if they are close by but he has never attempted to chase or eat them.  Jax is probably best as the only dog in the household or have a foster/adopter that is willing to feed and give high value treats separately.  He does not react to dogs or show any signs of aggression.  He has been boarded a few times and they report back he was perfectly fine with no issues. He does react if you go near his food dish while he is eating or his tennis balls.  I can take a toy from his mouth, no problem, but that is after a year of building trust with him. He is sensitive around pole-like items (brooms, sticks) he shys away like you are going to strike him. He is afraid of rain and empty boxes but completely ignores loud noises or barking dogs.  Jax needs someone that can devote time to him, work with him, and remind him of his manners. He is very treat/food motivated. We have built a routine and he knows it well, he is a smart boy. He loves a bath once you get him in the tub.  He wants to be close to his human and he tends to jump despite my efforts to teach him not to, so I would say no small children or seniors.    Jax is looking for a foster or adopter, our applications can be found at lastdaydogs.comNovember 6, 2024, 9:04 am

Story
- She's truly the perfect size for most homes. She's small enough that you can easily pick her up - 35 lbs. (and she doesn't mind being picked up when you need to do it), but has a "big dog" personality (not yappy or nervous at all).Basic Information:- house-trained- crate-trained (but doesn't NEED to be in a crate - she's perfectly safe when left loose in the house)- peppy when she's outside, but calm inside the house- snuggly - loves to sit on your lap- playful - giver her a good toy and she's happy for a long time (heck, she's even happy to chase her tail if she's got no toys around)- adorable - her little tongue is too big for her mouth, so about an inch of the tip often hangs out; extremely cute- would love to get on the furniture, but doesn't mind when you say no (i.e., she listens to you)- food-driven, so she's good at training, but not so food-driven that she tries to get the food off your plate (see above she listens well)- only barks when she hears the doorbell or noises outside (in other words, not a nervous dog that barks at everything)- independent - she is not needy in the least; at the same time, she's loving and excited to see you/be with you when you come homeLayla will do well with a house without children and will need a compatibility test with another dog. She gets along well with some and not so well with others. If you are interested in adopting Layla, please visit www.pawsitiveimpactncdogrescue.com/adopt. ##973536##

Story
Shelby is believed to be a Labrador-Pittie mix, which is honestly a dream combination; the fun of a Labrador and the smushy cuddles of a pitty! Her webbed paws are hilariously big for her body, and she lives for a summer swim! Shelby is the type of dog that you’ll need an extra 5 minutes with. While we don’t know the details of her past, we do know that she had enough experiences with NC’s finest to distrust humans. Shelby might initially bark or do a little nervous jig, but this sweet girl emerges in just a few minutes and she is worth the wait! Now that we’ve tried to sell you on Shelby, it’s YOUR turn to sell yourself TO Shelby. Shelby will need three or more of the following adopter qualities before she unpacks her bags and calls it home:1) Seven bedroom mansion by the lake, complete with pool and dock for optimal swimming opportunity (okay, a walk to the river or lake will also do...we guess)2) Netflix subscription. Shelby is currently rewatching The Office for the 8th time3) Comfy bed to allow for optimal cuddles4) TREATS. All of the treats.5) A canine companion for company and cardio (Wrestlemania ??)6) A human with ideal arm strength for belly scratches and leg strength for those lake walks (see item 7) Toys. We’re talking squeaky, fluffy, rope, rubber, whatever! Shelby’s quote: “Forever is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning. Help me find my forever.”If you are interested in adopting Shelby, please visit www.pincdogrescue.com/adopt and submit an adoption application. Story
Hogan is an adorable little pocket pittie still looking for his forever home. He loves other dogs, loves to run and play and very food motivated and eager to learn!  Hogan does have a little bit of a fearful side if cornered so we do not recommend him being in a home with young children. ##983071##
