Izzy is a very friendly dog, an American Pit Bull Terrier mix, around 2 years old. We received a call from the local sheriff’s dispatch seeking our assistance in rescuing an abandoned Pitbull in rural Tennessee, and that's how we found Izzy. Despite his rough past and neglect, Izzy's gentle demeanor shines through. We've taken Izzy under our wing, with plans to provide him the care he deserves. He's been neutered, vaccinated, received flea/tick prevention, and microchipped. He's good on the leash but pulls a bit, and he's a decent traveler in the car. He is crate trained. Izzy is sweet and good-natured, good with kids, dogs, and small dogs, but not at all fond of cats. He's very needy but understandable. Weighing about 45 pounds, he's a smart, independent, and gentle companion who's happiest being with you, whatever you're doing. However, Izzy is a bit of an escape artist and can tear up regular kennels. So, he'll need an indestructible crate with heavier bars. Despite his knack for getting out, Izzy will bring endless love and happiness into your life, always eager to be by your side. Please send a request for an application to fill out. Story

Ruthie's story is very sad. Her owners (never found) tied her to a telephone pole at a gas station in the middle of the night on a cold winter's night. Two young men who pulled in to get gas early in the morning saw her and took her into their car. They then contacted us to see if we could take her in. She was so scared and freezing cold she just cowered in fear for about a week. We are convinced that she was physically abused as well. Little by little she started to come out of her shell. We left her in our nursery building for a few weeks because we thought she may be pregnant. It was obvious that she had had a litter at some point in her life. Turns out she wasn't pregnant so we put her in with the general population where she has thrived. She loves playing with the puppies, she's great with cats and wonderful with children as all Pitties are. She has been spayed, is heart worm negative, fully vaccinated, crate trained and house broken to a doggie door. She is small for a Pittie so we call her a "Pocket Pittie" Ruthie needs her forever home, could that be you? She is ready for immediate transport. This strong boy, about a year old, was found running loose on the back roads of Tennessee, but despite his tough start, he's in great shape with a silky black coat. While no one has come forward to claim him, Hunter is patiently waiting for a loving family to call his own! This pretty little English Bulldog girl is called Natasha and she is guessed to be 8 years or a little more, and weighs 42 lb. She was found at a construction site wandering as a stray in a small town in Middle Tennessee. The people that found her couldn't believe that such a sweet girl could possibly be lost. After posts were made on Facebook and social media, no one ever came forward to claim her. The shelter was full at her small town and the people that found her just could not take her there even if it could accept her. She's too special. This little girl is recovering from a former flea infestation and has some patches on her back that are missing hair but growing hair back now. She's got the normal senior hip arthritis and needs some pain meds from time to time and some good joint medicine will help a great deal. Her teeth are good, her eyesight is fine and her sweet personality is over the top of the chart. She's affectionate with everyone and oh so sweet. We have found her to be good with other dogs and housebroken. We have not tried her with cats, but she seems to have the personality that would be loving and welcoming to all creatures that she meets. She walks a little slower as can be expected at her age, but she exudes a gratitude for having been given a place to stay. As they always say, a rescue dog will always let you know that they appreciate what you have done for them. With Natasha you can see it in her eyes and her spirit. She is a joy that someone needs to have in their life. If you understand the Bulldog breed, then you will be happy to know that this is a rare girl to be offered. She's healthy and all other ways except a little arthritis and missing a little bit of hair. Natasha is special and we are looking for that very special person or family to adopt her.
