Hello! They call me Queen, but I`m really not as bossy as my name indicates. I`m an adorable (almost) 4 year old pittie type, weighing in around 55 pounds. Yes, I’ve been at the shelter before. Someone adopted me, but they ended up having a heart condition and couldn’t take care of me anymore. Bummer! I learned a lot in that home though, so I’m hopeful it will help find me a new home soon! Other dogs can make me feel nervous and I don`t really want them near me, so I’d be happiest being your one-and-only. In the past year, I did make a couple of dog friends, with a lot of coaching. I did go to a home with a cat before and it was really fun to chase, but the human and cat didn`t appreciate that, so I’m thinking maybe I shouldn’t live with a cat. For the most part, I am equally happy to go for walks, play and sniff outside, or snuggle up to you! If you like to play, I`ll grab a toy and make silly noises while we play `keep away` or `tug`. If you`re not into games, that`s ok too, I`m pretty happy just sniffing around or sitting next to you in the sun. Honestly, I`m a pretty chill dog once you get to know me and I feel safe. I`m thinking that if I can get a little consistency in my life, I`ll be quite the happy family member! Hi there, they call me Silly Goose, and I think that`s pretty fitting! I was found tied to a tree with two other dogs. I am now the longest standing dog at the shelter, but I don`t get why! I love to sit in laps, play, both independantly or with friends and go for walks. Ok, some people say I`m a little too strong for them on leash. I guess I could see where that would be hard for some people. Maybe you have really strong arms or a fenced yard to help out with that? I can be a little bossy with other dogs but I do ok with some if the humans know how to help us get to know each other. To be honest, I think I am enough to keep anyone happy, even without another dog. If you ask me, I would make a pretty good new family member; if you don`t mind a 52 pound dog trying to climb in your lap! Stop by the shelter during open hours if you`d like to meet me, Silly Goose! Remus was discovered roaming the streets of Caroline and was brought to the shelter by compassionate souls. He found a home somewhat quickly, but recently came back to us because his human family was having some personal issues. Some people think Remus looks intimidating but he is really a pretty big baby! As a young dog, he has a lot of playful energy and is learning how to contain himself when excited. With firm but gentle boundaries, Remus has been a joy for volunteers and staff. He is generally friendly with people and other dogs, but has had some bad experiences in the past that can make it hard for him to share with other dogs. If he`s going to live with or have playdates with other dogs, his humans will need to make a plan for safe feeding when it`s meal time! Remus LOVES a good neck scratch and will even flop down for belly rubs when he`s really into it. He knows some basic commands and will excel in life if he continues his training. As for toys, squeaky ones are his favourite and he loves to shred them up after he`s done squeaking them!
