Story
Meet Sprinkles! Sprinkles and her sister Ice Cream (now adopted) were found as strays dumped in front of a vet clinic in Houston, sadly a very common story. Our wonderful foster was able to get the girls in her car by luring them with food. Sprinkles was a scaredy cat but she saw her sister Ice Cream jump right into the car, so she followed. Sprinkles has learned what it means to live in a home - to be loved and cared for. Sprinkles is 100% velcro dog. She absolutely adores her person. Sprinkles is also a fun loving gal who loves to play - with people and other dogs. She is very submissive when meeting new people. Sprinkles is: Approximately 1 year old 45lbs Loves to play Loves to cuddle and seeks out validation from her human Submissive to people Potty trained Good on leash Hesitant in the car but getting braver

Story
This big guy's name is Orion! He is a five-year-old Pit Bull mix who was brought to us by a local animal control officer when he was found in unfortunate living conditions. He lived in the woods on a chain without shelter, food or clean water for quite a bit of his life and with minimal interaction. After being brought to us we were able to put some weight on him and get him neutered once he was deemed healthy enough. Unfortunately he tested positive for Heartworm so he is currently undergoing treatment - all provided by the shelter. Orion loves to play although he is on exercise restrictions due to the Heartworm infection so he will need to find stimulation either through training, puzzles, or low-energy play. He unfortunately does not have any experience with other animals so he will need to be an only pet in his new home and should be in a home with older children over 13 years of age. This dog is a sweet boy who has a long road ahead of him and is in need of a loving and patient home where he can figure out what it is to be a house dog and a family pet. Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html October 25, 2024, 12:10 pm

Story
This big guy’s name is Hippo! Hippo is a five-year-old Pit Bull Terrier whose previous owner unfortunately did not have the means to take care of him due to his size and exuberant personality. He will need a Terrier experienced home as he still has a lot of learning to do. He is quite a loyal boy so with some time he has potential to be a wonderful companion. He will need a home without other pets or young children due to some resource guarding issues. Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html October 25, 2024, 12:10 pm

Story
This spunky girls name is Gabby! Gabby was found running as a stray who took almost two weeks to catch. She was skin and bones when she was finally caught and spent some time with an animal lover who held onto her until we had space for her. We believe she is around a year and a half old Hound and Pittie mix. This girl loves to run! She gets the typical zoomies and we actually have to keep a leash on her in the yard as she likes to play keep away. She is timid with new people but does warm up to them with time. We believe it would be difficult to find a dog she would get along with as she has a pushy personality when it comes to greeting other dogs. She certainly has a prey drive so no cats in the home would be best. We believe she would be ok with children over ten in the right environment. She is a typical energetic young dog that just needs some basic training and socialization and has the potential to make a wonderful family member! Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html October 25, 2024, 12:10 pm
