Story
Ive had kane since he was a puppy he's a very loving outgoing energetic boy. Kanes about 3 years old. He loves playing and cuddling on the couch. Kane was born with lower functioning kidneys but other than drinking a little more water than other dogs with a few exta potty breaks he's living a normal life! This breaks my heart to do as i wouldn't ever rehome my pets if it wasn't for the safety of my newborn but we cannot stay in the current apartment we had been living for his safety.

Story
Bubba is an adult neutered male Pit Bull Terrier Mix. He weighs about 65 lbs. Bubba is a quiet, calm and laid back boy. He is good on a leash and is housebroken.   This Path to Home group starts 11/14/24 for 8 weeks. Volunteers For Animals and Orleans Correctional Facility have developed a Dog Training & Fostering Program within the prison that will provide socialization and basic obedience training for the dogs before being adopted. Volunteers For Animals will be pulling dogs from high kill shelters and locally who may be in need of behavioral support to become more adoptable. The dogs will then be transported to Orleans Correctional Facility where they will live with selected inmates who will care for them 24 hours per day for approximately 8 weeks. Each dog will have a crate, bedding, leash, collar, training treats, and food provided by Volunteers For Animals. A certified dog trainer will provide weekly training classes for the dogs and the inmates. The inmates will then work daily to reinforce the formal training with the dogs. Adoption Procedures The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the Path Home animals are $200 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. All of the dogs are current on vaccines, heart worm tested and spayed/neutered. If you would like to be considered for any of the Path to Home dogs, please email us. Please do not call the Shelter regarding Path Home animals - they do not have any information. Email us at info@vol4animals.org regarding this program.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $60 fee for any animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.November 16, 2024, 7:49 am

Story
We have someone special we'd like you to meet! 😍 Please welcome Sunny! She is a 2 year old pit mix. This happy girl has been living the good life with her foster family for the past few months! Check out what she has to say about her new life! "I really like it here with my foster moms, so far I have learned: ✨I love to watch tv! My favorite shows are the office, true crime, scary, and action movies! ✨My mom says I’m a super chewer, not sure what that means but sounds to me like I’m a super hero of some kind! 💪 ✨Just because I have 3 legs doesn’t mean it slows me down! I’m the fastest dog in the wild Wild West 🏃‍♀️💨! I love to run in the yard, get zoomies in the house, and slide on the wood floors! Sometimes I do bump into things, but foster mom says bumper cars are fun! ✨I’m a fast learner 📚✏️🎓! My trainer even says so! I’m working hard on my manners and doing really good! ✨I’m potty and crate trained! ✨I love HUMANS!! I mean they are kinda goofy looking but I love snuggling, playing, being pet, and spending time with them! My foster mom calls me her shadow! I can even hug them if they let me!! Hugs and Licks, Sunny Bunny 🐰❤️" If your interested in adopting this girl, or just want to learn more information, check out our website!

Story
Meet Lily! Lily is a 3 year old mixed breed pup and was found as a stray. She currently lives in a foster home with both dogs and kids and does great! She’s shown so much patience and gentleness, and has so much love to give! Lily is a playful and cuddly pup, who wants nothing more than a lap to snuggle on and a place where she can sunbath! Lily can sometimes be shy when meeting new adults, but warms up rather quickly! If you are interested in meeting Lily, please send us an email! petstophererescue@gmail.com

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Josie is a beautiful girl who loves everyone she meets!  Josie's ideal family/person will have a quiet, structured home with a solid routine.  She'll be an eager companion for runs, hikes, daily walks & playtime in a fenced in yard. If you've ever considered trying dog agility, Josie would be up for that, too!  Miss Josie would prefer to have someone who's home more than they're away, but she's been making great progress with crate training. This sweet soul is a sensitive one; she needs your love, respect and patience in order to thrive.  She's smart as a whip and eager to please; she'll gain confidence as you help her learn your daily household routine.   Josie doesn't like loud noises or chaos; she'd be happiest in a suburban or rural setting and we're recommending only older, respectful children. Josie is dog selective, so a meet and greet with any resident or frequently visiting dogs is a must! And no cats for this little lady!  If you're looking for a sweet, active girl who will enjoy cuddling on the couch as much as hiking through the woods with you, Josie could be the one for you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. &#226&#150&#186 We do not adopt to Canada  due to border restrictions and breed-specific legislation &#226&#150&#186 We adopt & foster locally only ; within an approximately 55 mile radius of Lockport, NY 14094 USA Adoption donation includes Spay/Neuter, Vaccinations, deworming & flea treatment.
