WATCH MY VIDEO! I am a big, sweet boy who is a good candidate for playing fetch, going on walks and then just relaxing with my peeps! I love to be pet, give kisses and reap mucho attention from my family. A team member notes: I spent time with Gilbert in his room. He quickly became a loving dog, staying right in front of me for rubs and scratches. He also gave me some very polite kisses. Notes from a recent Doggie Date: Gilbert did well in the car ride to the park. He walks well on leash but pulled a little because he was interested in exploring the new territory we took him to. The thing that stood out the most about him is that he loves attention and affection. You can pet him all over. He is super gentle taking treats and his kisses are so sweet. He was well-behaved at a quiet (non busy, no other dogs) coffee shop patio. Although he is big enough to have surfed our table, he did not. He does not jump up on you. Gilbert will probably make a really good family pet! 5 Fun Facts I love all treats but hotdogs and peanut butter are my favorite! My favorite toy right now are rubber balls! Favorite activity is going on a run w/you. I am working on sitting right now. I am energetic so I would be a great workout buddy!

Hi human, thanks for clicking on me! What can I say, I'm a very charming guy. I'm a terrier mixed breed filled with lots of love, affection and energy. I've done well with other dogs here at Animal Humane, both in doggie playgroups and just passing by on my walks. I know how to sit and take treats gently. I'm a strong guy, but I listen well.. I'm mostly just so excited to get out of my kennel for a good walk. I might look strong and stoic, but I'm really just a softie who adores humans, treats and a little TLC. A special young boy with lots of energy. I'm deaf but not letting that stop me one bit. I'm working on hand signals and catching on to sit, stay and down. I have lived with dogs before and have had many play groups. I am very food driven. Get ready to receive lots of kisses. Just point to your cheek or make a kissy face and you'll be covered in kisses. A team member notes; I spent time with Pip in his room. He was delighted to see me and was very energetic for a few minutes, then settled down and had restrained energy or was calm. He is very people oriented: he stayed right with me. He is indeed food driven and wanted lots of treats. My name is Pip and I wanna tell you a little about myself that will for sure get you to adopt me. One thing I do want you to know is that I'm a special boy. I'm deaf but that won't stop me from playing with all of my puppy pals and going on walks with the hoomans. I can also show you some of my tricks such as laying down and sit but I will surprise you with some more tricks. One fun thing that I love to do when I go to the doggy park is jump in the pool. Layla is an absolute sweetheart and she can't wait to make you feel like you won the lottery! She is well-mannered and looks to you for approval and affection. She loves to cuddle, the closer, the better. She may lean against you or climb into your lap. Her favorite game is fetch. She will fill your days with kisses and tail wags. Carmen is one of the Ranch`s long-time residences who is yet to find her forever home. She can be very shy when it comes to meeting new people and likes to approach people at her own pace. Once she trusts you, she will want to be around you all the time! She loooves water and enjoys standing around in the kiddie pools to cool off in the summer. She is a little selective about the dogs she enjoys being around and tends to prefer the company of submissive females. Remington is a playful and boisterous puppy-at-heart. He would love to find an active home with large dog experience. He’s been yearning for a home for a very long time. He is great with people, but his enthusiasm and energy might make him a best fit for children 12 years or older. He is dog selective; the best match would be a medium to large, mellow dog that doesn’t overwhelm him. He is very sweet and loves life. Remington would thrive from walks with his owner and a balanced diet. He is cat reactive, so a home with a cat would not be ideal.He can be see at the main ranch location. Meet Luke!This handsome man is extremely sweet and loves people and attention, his ideal day would be spending quality time with his human and going on adventures. Luke is extremely smart, he knows `sit`, `stay`, he is house broken, and crate trained! Luke is great on a leash and loves going on walks with our volunteers. This Sweet girl is new to the Watermelon Family, and we are still learning about her, but what we have learned so far is that she is great with other dogs and is very very friendly to people.She is able to climb a chain link fence, so her new home would need a very tall fence made of either wood or cinderblock. Meet our newest sweetheart PEACH!!We are still learning about this sweet girl, and so far we have found she is very shy but friendly with people. She loves pets and cuddles and may seem nervous at first, but once you pet her, she lets down her guard down. Her previous owners have stated that she can get very attached to people and can get jealous if she has to share her humans with other dogs or cats. I was so scared out there and didn’t know where to find food – she looked so sad when she saw how skinny I was!! I tried to let her know it was ok I was just so happy to see someone – I jumped right into her truck and she took me home. It was the best day ever!! She took me to her house and gave me food and water- I couldn’t believe how hungry and thirsty I was she just kept petting me and telling me I was ok now. It was awesome then she gave me a blanket so I could sleep – I was soo tired. In the mesa there are wild dogs and coyotes I was too scared to sleep so I slept a long time. Anyhow enough of that bad stuff…. you should see me now I am gorgeous with a buff body and shiny coat. I still get super excited meeting new people and animals but I just want to play and live my best life and let everyone know life is to be celebrated. My favorite game ever is fetch!!! I also like to play tug though.. I just love toys!!! Recently I even got to meet giant dogs the rescue lady called horses. I really wanted to play but they wouldn’t chase me no matter how many play bows I did trying to tell them I wanted them to chase me – they were boring so I just explored instead. I know to be soft and gentle with the smaller kids- last summer we shared their toys and played in a little swimming pool together -- they were so much fun. One of the smaller ones dropped her toy into the pool so I hopped right in to get it for her since she got sad she couldn’t reach it and then she started laughing. It was so nice that I got to help a wee one just like when my foster mom helped me!! My foster mom has taken me to other states to visit and she says I am a great traveler and everyone comments on how smart and well behaved I am. I love car rides and adventure. My ideal family would love to take me hiking and going on adventures but then curling up on the couch to watch a good show or whatever they want to do I am game. I am pretty easy like that – I just go with the flow. My foster mom and the rescue lady say I am a perfect dog and they just don’t understand why nobody wants me but I believe my forever family is out there- we just need to find each other and when we do it will be amazingly awesome!!! Please be aware birthday and breeds listed are our best guesses based on looks and temperament Estimated DOB 10/1/2022 Size – she weighed in at 57 lbs History- This little girl was found in a mesa where she had been dumped. Everyone said she was scared, and she wouldn't let anyone near her however one of our friends who fosters a lot for us was able to pick her up. The original plan was to take her to a shelter but since they are all completely full and she felt bad dumping her off with the possibility of euthanasia she reported her to them and offered to hold her for the stray hold and look for her owner hoping she wasn't dumped. However, nobody was looking for her. So, we have agreed to try and find her a loving family who will not abandon her again..  Temperament- Super sweet, very smart, loves attention, and tries really hard to do what is expected of her. Has learned some basic commands and is just a really, really sweet girl. Energy Level- She is high energy so would do best with an active family and/or with a high energy dog. However, she would be fine as an only dog as well as long as she gets lots of exercise to tire her out. Dogs/Cats- Super playful with everyone she meets. Some dogs seem a bit intimidated with her eagerness so she would do best with a confident, playful dog that she can rough house with. She probably shouldn't be around cats.. Kids/People- Good with everyone she meets. Has met small children from 2-10 years old and is very gentle with them. She can be very rambunctious and loves to rough house though with adults or bigger teens. She barks a warning and looks intimidating when strangers approach the fence or door so if someone was thinking of breaking in they would think again not knowing if the dog on the other side of the door was friendly or not..   Commands/Obedience Level- Daisy knows some basic commands and is very well behaved overall she just gets super excited and has the zoomies sometimes. Daisy is accustomed to traveling in vehicles and makes a great traveling companion. Housetrained/Crate Trained- She is using a dog door with no accidents. She is also perfect in the crate. Maple is a friendly girl who is as sweet as syrup! She loves being around people and will seek your attention and affection, and it is noted that she does well with other dogs. She is enthusiastic about all things in life, which includes treats and toys. She will take treats from your hand very gently and loves all toys. She also enjoys being scratched and rubbed just about everywhere. If you can find it, she even has a sweet spot that makes her shake her leg. It doesn't get much cuter than that! This happy girl is always smiling and wagging her tail. Take her home and she'll add a ray of sunshine to your life.

The spirited Leo loves to be the center of attention! Leo came to the shelter with his buddy, Utah, and they share a kennel. While Leo is sunny and active, Utah (A1906683) is more shy and gentle. They make a great pair and could be adopted together, although they can also go to different homes. Because Leo already shares his space with another dog, he might be a good pal for your dog. Bring your pet in for a pre-adoption meet & greet. Leo is already neutered -- once he gets his vaccines at the shelter, he can go home with you right away.

Campbell is very happy, loving, and energetic! He seems to like other friendly dogs, greeting them with tail wags and friendly sniffing (we always recommend a pre-adoption meet and greet if you already have a dog).  Campbell takes treats gently, knows his name and `come` and `sit`! He`s not too bad on leash and loves going for long walks!
