Story
OMG Ryker went on a date. His date loved the time they spent with him. Here is what they had to say. "Ryker is such a gentleman. He does great on leash and takes treats and food so gently. He’s shy and timid but he’s the sweetest cuddle bug and he thinks he’s a lap dog despite his size. He gets attached to people quickly and loves to be right by your side. You can tell he has a goofy side and so badly wants to let his guard down and just be a playful pup. He just needs a safe environment to do that." Ryker went to 3 different parks and walking trails and he did amazing. He loves sniffing everything and seeing new things. He got a pup cup and loved it and we also went into Big 5. He was a little overwhelmed but he did so good he was very well behaved. Just think of the fun you and Ryker could have on new adventures in 2025. Come meet him today.

Story
Meet Lauryn Hill, the hip hop Princess. 🎼🎤Brethren...Sistren...Guys, you know you better...watch out....It seemed she lost the game before she even started to play (IYKYK)...This sweet mama came to us via a craigslist post where she was being given away as a young pregnant mama. One of our fosters saw the post and offered to take her in. Once safe in the hands of Boxers and Buddies and her Foster mom's care, she gave birth to 7 perfect little pups. Lauryn's hip hop wonder pups are now 5 weeks old and are starting to no longer need their mama, which means that she will soon be looking for a home of her own. She is currently living in a home with several other dogs of varying sizes and cats. She is a bit nervous around her foster's brother, but she is working with a trainer to find some confidence around him. We believe Lauryn to be a 2 year old pit mix. She will be spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped by the end of next week. If you are interested in meeting Lauryn Hill, please fill out an adoption application at Boxersandbuddies.comWe require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions. Story
Tyler would like to discuss something with you. He would like to give you three reasons why he is a good dog and should be home for the holidays. 1. He is thoughtful. If you give him a treat he will consider the gift and take it slowly and graciously. 2. He is a big fan of belly rubs and he understands that after a long day at work the best stress relief is to rub the belly of a grateful dog. Tyler is willing to provide this needed service. 3. Finally, everyone knows that having a dog reduces a person's stress level. With the holiday's approaching, Tyler wants your stress level to be at a minimum...and the way to do that is to Adopt Him!

Meet Firulais, a big boy, a lot of dog, and a lot of fun. Firulais is a ball aficionado, he's a stellar fetcher and loves playing with the big balls too. He also loves tug. There are so very many ways to keep him active. A tired Firulais will be a good Firulais. He responds to a strong commanding voice that lets him know who is in charge. He can be all over the place when it comes to play, and even think your ankles may make a good toy, however, a good stern "No" or "treat" distracts him. He does love his treats. He tried his hand at swimming but didn't quite get that a one paw paddle wouldn't get him anywere. This big guy will make you smile every day with his antics. Check out his videos and you will get a feel for this big handsome boy and if he is a good match for you!

She is 55lb of love and fun, not to mention an eye-catching beauty! Her favorites include: Big, Red Jolly Ball, hard chew bones, and treats! She also LOVES to play fetch and pre-bedtime snuggles! She is very responsive to positive attention and is working hard in training sessions. Nina is making great strides in Obedience Class and socializing trips to the Vet and public places. Nina learns quickly and knows many basic commands including Sit, Stay, Wait, Come, Leave it, Off, Drop it, Go potty and House. She also recognizes hand signals. Nina loves to play with dogs that are energetic and confident. She fits best with dogs that are bigger and can remind her of appropriate play. Nina enjoys tug of war, wrestling and running with her foster dog siblings. She often brings a toy to get the party started! Because Nina is very athletic and strong her best home will be with a family that has older children/teens and experience with Guard breeds or similar. Nina is smart, loyal and ready for her special forever someone! Story
*** COURTESY LISTING *** PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL THE PERSON LISTED. DO NOT CONTACT WARF AS WE HAVE NO FURTHER INFO. Hi! My name is Doby. I am an approximately 2 year old female (spayed) 'pocket pit'. I am definitely part Pitbull Terrier, but the veterinarians think that I may also be mixed with a Boston Terrier. I am only about 40 pounds. I am black with a little bit of brindle and white stockings on my legs with a white blaze on my face. I think you would agree that I am as cute as a button. I have big ole pointy ears and that is how I got my name - Doby the House Elf! I am a very energetic girl and need lots of exercise. I was relinquished to Fairgrounds Animal Hospital after my housemate and I just could not learn to get along. The prior owner's mentioned that the housemate was much more of the aggressor. I do love other dogs myself, but I definitely get over-stimulated. I can get a bit pushy and do not like to be corrected by other dogs. I have decided that other female spayed dogs just are not going to be part of my clique. However; I do love the big silly male Husky that I lived with at my foster home. He was very laid back and always wanted to play. I do feel that I would do best in a single dog household or can have a meeting with a laid back larger male dog prior to adoption. I have also been around cats and just like with dogs I get a little too excited. When I was with my foster mom her cats hissed at me and even swatted. I was a little confused and would just stare at them, never once did I try to harm them. However; I am a big pup and with my over-stimulation a household without cats might be best as well. My foster mom has been working with me on leash walks. Overall I do well, but just like a typical terrier sometimes I cannot help myself and will bark and get too excited. We are working on this, but I do recommend my new home have humans who have had terrier and/or reactive pitbull experience for continued training. I also feel that I would do best with children over the age of 12. This is not because I am aggressive with them, simply that I am 40 pounds of muscle and would be worried that I could accidentally knock over a smaller child. I am so sweet and it would break my heart if I unintentionally hurt someone. I really just want to love my people and I am very affectionate. Once I settle in, I will be your best friend. I will cuddle and make you laugh. I am a bit misunderstood at times, but with the right family I know I will fit in well. If you are interested in discussing my personality and possible adoption then please contact Fairgrounds Animal Hospital at 775-329-4106. This clinic is very busy; therefore, if you do not reach one of our receptionists right away, please leave a message with your phone number and interest in Doby and we will return your call as soon as possible.November 3, 2024, 4:20 pm

Story
Zora is a spunky young female boxer. She came into rescue from a local shelter, and before that she lived her entire life in a fenced yard with her littermate.Zora is very playful and exuberant, and loves all kinds of toys. But the thing she loves most is being petted and snuggling with her dog brothers and foster humans. She is completely housetrained, rides perfectly in the car, and walks well on leash with no pulling (see below for exceptions). Zora is working on her house manners and crate training but is extremely bright and learns quickly.Because she wasn't exposed to other dogs and new people, she is reactive to both. However, she can be redirected using treats and responds well to praise. Zora would do best with a well-adjusted/socialized male dog. She loves rough housing with the foster family's 80lb American Bully mix, and is fine with their older male Pug (Zora is somewhat more interested in playing with him than he is in playing with her [🙂] ).The foster family doesn't have any cats or smaller pets, but Zora has shown some prey drive when on hikes. This indicated that she may not be ok with smaller pets, birds, or cats. Dog-savvy, respectful children should not be an issue.Boxer experience (specifically female/puppy) highly recommended. Well-adjusted/socialized male dog of similar size required. Zora will require obedience/behavior training to address her reactivity as specified in the adoption contract. If you are interested in meeting or adopting Zora, please fill out an adoption application! We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions. Duchess just went on a date and she had a blast. She went for a hike on the Thomas Creek Trail and was a sweetheart. Her date said that Duchess loves to hike and was a great listener. She would be awesome running/hiking buddy. From her date, "Duchess loved all treats. Knows how to sit and takes treats gently. She’s really smart and would probably benefit/do super well with some training! Super sweet and VERY cuddly. She has so much love to give." Stop by and have a chat with Duchess. You won't be sorry.
