Fiona is a 6 year old pit mix that is a sweet cuddly dog that loves to investigate the backyard so a fence would be make this girl happy. Since she has recovered from motherhood she has regained her strength and can pull while being walked. We are working on this. Fiona tries to sneak out the door so be careful when getting your mail. She gets along with my 55 lb. male dog. Her prey drive is strong so I am not sure about small dogs but I would say no cats. She has some small dogs along the fence that she barks and runs the fence with. But seems to be mellowing after time. She gets along with my 8 year old female neighbor but I don't know about younger kids. Now the biggest and most important need that Fiona has is some one that will manage her surroundings. She does not like men and will possibly bite if given a chance. That requires being put in another room or crate when men are in the house. Adoption fee is $300. Chunky Charlie is a 2-year-old Pitbull whose journey with PAC began on 10/26/23 when he was found as a stray and named Cedar. If you hear a staff member refer to him as Cedar, this is why. Charlie was adopted on 12/9/23 by a wonderful family looking for two dogs. In their forever home, Cedar (renamed Charlie) and Snow White (renamed Sophie) became best friends. Unfortunately, after settling in, Charlie began to have issues with the family`s existing cat, leading to his return to PAC on 9/24/24. His former family had many positive things to say about him. Charlie is loving, smart, knows basic commands, friendly, calm, good on a leash, and requires low-level exercise. However, he did not tolerate the cat well and had issues sharing food and toys. Charlie is now seeking an experienced home that can help him lose 15 pounds. He is vocal when excited and would thrive in a home where he can receive plenty of attention. He does well with dogs that play respectfully and is patient with those who are initially uncomfortable. Charlie is a beautiful boy who enjoys his walks in the park. He is usually very mellow but occasionally gets the zoomies! He is great in the car, walks very well on the leash, and rolls over for a belly rub. He loves treats and takes them gently. Located in High Ridge MO This is Ziggy, he is a 2.5 year old male neutered Pitt. He’s approximately 50-60 lbs. Rabies, DHLPP and Bordatella are good until Nov. 2021 other than that I have no medical history. He was surrendered by his owner due to unhealthy living conditions for his pets. He is very good with people once he warms up. Does good for baths and nail trims. Doesn’t chew up beds or blankets etc. Good with other big dogs. Not good with small dogs. NO CATS - NO KIDS. We have a male lab golden mix and they were BFF’s after day 2. He loves to burrow under covers, walks well on a leash, doesn’t need expensive food, rides great in the car and has a great warning bark at strangers at the door. He doesn’t bark at the wind or anything excessive. We brought him home for three weeks. He did amazing. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have facility for you to come visit our dogs which is why an application is required prior to meeting. Once applications are submitted - if you meet the minimum requirements for the dog you are interested in, the application is forwarded to the foster for their review. It can take time for us and the foster to review all the applications received. This part of the process can take a few weeks, sometimes more. Due to the number of applications we receive for all the dogs/puppies we are not able to respond to everyone as to the status of their application. You will be contacted if you are selected to schedule a meet/greet. Adoption Process: An application is submitted and approved, a meet/greet is scheduled and a home visit is required. The adoption process takes at minimum of a week AFTER your application has been approved and a meet and greet scheduled. If selected as a potential adoptive family you will be contacted by phone, text or email to schedule a meet/greet. Because we are all volunteers and have full-time jobs & families out adoption process does take time. Forever homes are chosen based on the dog's personality and the applicant we feel offers the best fit for the dog. Please be patient with us through this process. Adoption decisions are based input from both the foster family and the board requirements. Adopters are selected based on the best fit for the dog and are not selected on a first come first serve basis. Adoption fees cover: Spay/neuter, clear stool sample, HW test for dogs brought in over 4-mths of age, all required and a clean bill of health from our veterinarian. vaccinations Puppies will have all age-appropriate vaccinations; however, follow-up vetting may be required depending on age but are covered by the rescue at our veterinarian. If over 2 mths of age they are on monthly HW & flea/tick prevention. Our adoption fees vary based on the age of the dog: >>Puppies up to 1yr $350 >>1 yr to 4 yrs $300 >>5 to 7 yrs $250 >>7 yrs and up $200 Who are we: Just like many smaller rescue organizations, Lucky K9 Rescue is 100% volunteer driven. Meet Lucky! This incredibly handsome love bug was found super skinny and roaming the streets with burned paws. Some wonderful people took him in and got him to the vet to get treated. He’s now at our rescue and he’s the sweetest, least reactive dog ever. He did great meeting the front yard pack and had no reaction to being growled at. He's a little too much for small dogs and cats, but he'd love another medium/large dog to play with in his forever home. He’s a completely white pit bull with one mostly blue eye and one light brown eye. Lucky is about 1 year old and weighs 47 pounds, but he should put on 5-7 pounds. He’s so incredibly loving and sweet, he thinks everyone he meets is his best friend. He’s loving and smart—he already knows sit and is very respectful. Lucky really enjoys being with people.
