Story
Marley is a very loving gentle dog. We rescued him from a bad situation 2 years ago. He has never looked back. He loves kids and enjoys playing fetch, or just running with them. He is a cuddle dog if you can believe it, loves cuddling up at bedtime almost as he is human. He will sit forever right next to you even if you’re not petting him, just loving companionship. He is a very fit dog with 3 acres to rome on here, and thinks all small critters are fun to chase. He is well mannered, doesn’t beg, and patient when it’s feeding time. We are only rehoming due to my health and needing to move cross country to a home that does not have room for a big dog.

Story
Super sweet guy. Hes becoming lazy with his age. Loves the outdoors and sun bathing. Loves to be curled up right on top of you, next to you, underneath you, anywhere touching you. Is a super great dog. Listens very well. Starting to show aggravation towards toddlers and their craziness. Does NOT like water; showers, lakes, rain, etc. Gets aggressive towards nail cuts. He warms to other dogs with time. In 2018 he was attacked at a dog park, which ended his love for dog parks and other dogs. Havent really done much out of the house with him since then. Is not up to date on shots. Hasnt been to the vet in years. I could possibly take care of that if absolutely necessary but we have 3 small kids and would like him to find a home quickly for everyones safety.

Story
Roland is the sweetest little guy. When he gets excited his tail wags and his whole body wiggles. Roland knows sit and down. He is good on walks for the most part. Sometimes his excitement can get the better of him and he will pull. He is excited by people, wildlife, cats, and other dogs. Roland can get jumpy when meeting new people outside but tends to be more reserved inside. He may knock down small children and can be mouthy when he gets excited. He has not exhibited aggression during the time I've had him but can play rough with an open mouth and may nip when overly excited. We are working on this and he has gotten better. Roland is crate trained and housebroken. When I first brought him home, he relieved himself in the house. We have corrected this, though he might regress in a new environment. Roland seems to have separation anxiety, he may be good for a long time but his limit is about five hours. I currently keep him in a spare bedroom when I am away. He is not destructive and does not relieve himself while I am gone. Roland has met other dogs. He tends to play hard, but nothing too aggressive. Roland needs reminding to be gentle and would do best dogs his size or bigger. Cats would need careful slow introductions. He is not a Velcro dog, but wants to be in the same room as you. Unless it is the bathroom. During those times he wants to be in his safe place, which is currently the spare bedroom. Roland seems limited with his jumping. I have to help him into the car and into the downstairs bedroom. He is good getting on the spare bedroom bed. Be prepared to lift this cute 50 pound dog. He will put his front paws up and let his person lift him up. Roland is an eager to please dog that needs an emotional support human. His adopter ideally would be a calm and secure leader willing to invest time and energy to build a secure attachment through training with clear and consistent expectations, gentle corrections and lots of praise. Adopter must be willing to provide plenty of exercise, play, and a variety experiences. In return, Roland will provide the sweetest emotional connection, loyalty, loving kisses and lots of snuggle time.

Story
Pelican is a silly pup! He can be a little shy at first, but he warms up pretty quickly! He has a real zest for life and wants to be involved in what you're doing! Don't let his frown fool you - he's a happy guy! His foster says "Pelican is a happy, friendly, goofy guy! He loves all people, dogs, and cats - sometimes a little too much! He’s a classic velcro dog. He will protest when he is first left alone, but eventually relaxes after a few minutes. He goes into his kennel happily. He loves all kinds of toys. He just wants to have fun, as long as you’re involved! He’s equally adventurous and playful as he is calm and cuddly. Pelican would love an energetic playmate that doesn’t mind some roughhousing. He is responsive and smart, but headstrong at times. With some structure and consistency, this sweet boy will fit in anywhere." Another foster says "Pelican is a super sweet medium sized boy with an adorable pink nose. He loves getting attention and will reciprocate by jumping and mouthing. He has loved every person he's met! He's not a fan of being left alone and will bark and whine when you first leave the room but eventually settles down after a few minutes. He doesn't seem destructive so far, but if you leave a lot of stuff out he likes to investigate and pick up random things He loves all kinds of food and toys. He is doing really well learning basic manners. Sometimes he'll fetch, but mostly entertains himself. He doesn't pull too much on the leash because he prefers being close to you, however sometimes he'll dart around when he's extra hyper. Pelican is very silly and is sure to make you laugh! He can be playful but also has a lazy side. He seems pretty flexible, as long as he's with his person he's happy! If you'd like a smaller cuddle buddy, he would love to hang out with you 24/7! This cutie pie sleeps hard and snores LOUD but it's very endearing"

Story
Henry is very loving and cuddly inside the house! His funny and goofy personality gets him into a little trouble around the garbage and he has quite the time containing his curiosity. He loves to play and has done very good while playing with other dogs of the same size. Outside he can be a bit reactive to unfamiliar people and animals and throws a bit of a fit if he can't get to them. He's VERY treat motivated! Henry is a Priority Paw as he has been in the shelter for a long time. Volunteers say "Henry was super sweet, and loved getting the attention. He would need some help with leash skills as he pulled most of our walk/jog. If anyone is looking for a running partner, that loves people, this is your guy! He loved jogging with me and did not tire out until close to the end of our walk/jog. We passed a few different people and he was happy to see them. He was very excited to try to get squirrels and birds so he might not be the best with other small pets/birds." "Met Henry today, and we spent our time at Stephens Lake Park. He was excited to be out and about. Really pulled on leash any time we were walking, but would stop immediately and come right to me when called. He loved the lake and plunged in for a swim. Had blast playing fetch with large walnuts, tossing them in the air himself so he could chase them. Would love a yard where he could run and play (especially with balls). Henry needs someone with much patience and physical strength; he's a lot of puppy! But he's a good boy with a sweet heart, and with consistent, gentle, discipline he's going to mature into a loving and loyal family member." "Henry was such a delight and will be the best companion for someone who loves to really *play* with their dog! From the little time I spent with him, he was very intuitive and clever. He was obsessed with having his butt scratched."

Mistley is such a silly girl! She can be a bit shy in new places, but some treats and a nice belly rub are the ways to her heart. She loves to explore and follow her nose. This girl is up for adventures with you! Volunteers say "We walked around the Mizzou campus and stayed at home for a while. Mistley is kind of a shy girl at first but shows confidence to people pretty quickly. She behaved very well when she stayed at home." "Mistley was truly the softest dog I think I've ever felt. She was very shy but so sweet and angelic. She was good on the leash, except in rare silly moments where she became a parkour expert but was such a little sweetie. She is destined for life with someone who appreciates a true girlie pop."

Story
Glizzy (or "GG" as we sometimes call her) has been the best girl! She settled in and warmed up to everyone very fast. She is house and kennel trained and has had no issues when left alone out of the kennel for short amounts of time (we usually come back to her snoring on the couch). She knows how to sit and since she's been staying with us she has learned to "lay down" and "leave it" she is a quick learner and is very food motivated. She also knows "ok" as her release word for food/treats. She is pretty good on the leash too! However, her favorite spot is the couch. She will lay there all day if you let her, and she loves cuddling up next to you. She likes playing with her toys and seems to like balls/fetch the best. We have lots of visitors at our house and she does great & enjoys meeting new people, everyone who meets her loves her. She is truly so sweet and would make the perfect little companion!
