Story
Molly is a super sweet girl. She loves to play around with the other dogs and people. She doesn't care for cats very much, but would do good in a home with other animals. It takes Molly some time to gain trust with people, but with some love. She makes a great dog. She was our towns local runway. It took our team 2 months to catch this girl, but believe it was due to her fear for strangers. She has been working on her recall and does great for our staff and volunteers. She needs her furever home!

Story
Serenity is a sweet girl that's looking for a low traffic home. She has lived with another dog and a cat in her previous home, but she may be happiest not having to share her space with another dog. She likes to play with balls and chew toys! She's super loving and eager to please, especially if you have treats! Her ideal home will be one where she has a yard to play in as cars are scary and going for walks can be a bit much.

Story
Roland is the sweetest little guy. When he gets excited his tail wags and his whole body wiggles. Roland knows sit and down. He is good on walks for the most part. Sometimes his excitement can get the better of him and he will pull. He is excited by people, wildlife, cats, and other dogs. Roland can get jumpy when meeting new people outside but tends to be more reserved inside. He may knock down small children and can be mouthy when he gets excited. He has not exhibited aggression during the time I've had him but can play rough with an open mouth and may nip when overly excited. We are working on this and he has gotten better. Roland is crate trained and housebroken. When I first brought him home, he relieved himself in the house. We have corrected this, though he might regress in a new environment. Roland seems to have separation anxiety, he may be good for a long time but his limit is about five hours. I currently keep him in a spare bedroom when I am away. He is not destructive and does not relieve himself while I am gone. Roland has met other dogs. He tends to play hard, but nothing too aggressive. Roland needs reminding to be gentle and would do best dogs his size or bigger. Cats would need careful slow introductions. He is not a Velcro dog, but wants to be in the same room as you. Unless it is the bathroom. During those times he wants to be in his safe place, which is currently the spare bedroom. Roland seems limited with his jumping. I have to help him into the car and into the downstairs bedroom. He is good getting on the spare bedroom bed. Be prepared to lift this cute 50 pound dog. He will put his front paws up and let his person lift him up. Roland is an eager to please dog that needs an emotional support human. His adopter ideally would be a calm and secure leader willing to invest time and energy to build a secure attachment through training with clear and consistent expectations, gentle corrections and lots of praise. Adopter must be willing to provide plenty of exercise, play, and a variety experiences. In return, Roland will provide the sweetest emotional connection, loyalty, loving kisses and lots of snuggle time.

Story
Kruger is an excited, happy guy! He's eager to find a new home where he'll have space to run and play. He has lived with another dog previously, but he may be slow to make new friends he doesn't know. Volunteers say "I took Kruger for a Pup Cup at Starbucks and then we hung out at home for a bit! He is great with new people and matches the energy of the people around him. He loves to play fetch, but also enjoys just lounging around and snuggling! He is medium energy and has a mild temperament, so I would imagine he would fit in with any home. Unsure about his behavior with other dogs as we did not encounter any other dogs today." "Kruger is such a sweet and well behaved boy! I drove him to my apartment and we walked around my neighborhood today. He sat so nice in the car and was so sweet and calm! He walks super well on the leash and stays right next to you except for when there's good grass to sniff. He did not react to other dogs or pull on the leash when he saw dogs or squirrels. He knows how to sit and I even got him to lay down a few times with treats. We also sat inside for a while and he loves to cuddle. He sniffed all of my cats things and seemed very calm. I think he would be perfect for an active person who needs a friendly companion." "Met and walked with Kruger today and he was a delight. So easy on leash, loves the water, very affectionate and playful. He needs some training not to jump on folks, but with a little time he would eagerly learn anything taught to him. He'd probably love to have his very own kiddy pool too!"

Keira is a happy, friendly girl! She has a lot of playful energy and would love a home where she has some room to run. She loves attention and seems to be happiest when people are around. Her foster says "Keira is very sweet. She loves to be near you and give kisses. She is house trained and knows 'sit'. She really likes her squeaky toy and playing tug of war with a rope toy. Keira is gentle when taking treats. She met our dogs and the neighbor's dogs and was very polite. She behaves very well on walks and doesn't pull much on the leash. Keira has been fine when left alone in the finished basement. She hasn't been destructive at all. We don't know how she'd do if she was crated."

Story
Hickory is the ultimate goofball! From his silly little smile to his tippy tappy toes, Hickory is a kooky little guy through and through. Hicks is a big fan of any sort of play and loves throwing his stuffy toys through the air and chasing after them. He is also a HUGE fan of making snow angels and chasing his friends through the yard. I wouldn't say that Hickory is a low-energy dog, but as long as he gets a bit of exercise and mental stimulation every day, Hickory is a pretty chill guy. This handsome GoodBoy has excellent leash manners and a great recall. He's been working very hard on his manners and has graduated from the first level of classes at Lizzi and Roccos. Hickory can be a bit timid in new places and around new people, but he warms up very quickly- especially if snacks are involved! Aside from a couple accidents when he first came to live in his foster home, Hicks seems to be fully potty trained. He stays in the spare bedroom while his foster mom is at work and doesn't have any issues hanging out there alone until she's back. Hickory has gotten along very well with the other dogs in his foster home and has loved playing with other friends that he's made while out and about. He isn't the biggest fan of sharing his toys with other dogs, but really who is? Hicks will do a quiet little growl when his foster brother Rufus tries to steal his toys and will occasionally do a little bork at his super annoying foster brother, but has never gotten physical- he just gets a little hurt that his so-called-friend would do something like that to him. Although Hickory doesn't live with any cats in his foster home, he has spent lots of time with his Foster Aunt Kelsie's cats- Nichol and Houdini- and he seemed very impartial to their existence. When Hickory first came to the shelter, his condition was heartbreaking. He had lost most of his hair and had scratched his skin so raw that by the next morning, the walls and floor of his kennel were splattered with blood. Hicks has come such a long way and is looking great; however, he will likely need life-long care and medication for his allergies. His foster mom and the vets at the shelter are more than happy to go into detail about his veterinary care with applicants before adoption! Hickory is such a sweet, silly boy who has so much love to give. Don't let this one slip away!

Story
Walton is a big lovebug that's just waiting for his soulmate! He can be a bit shy in new places, but with a bit of patience, he just wants to be your best friend. His finder had him around older kids and dogs and he did okay, but may need some more time to warm up to other dogs. Give this big guy a chance! He is a Priority Paws dog due to his dog reactivity in the shelter environment. His foster says " Walton is a great dog who just wants love! He doesn't know many tricks but he is a smart dog who listens very well and has never tried to get into anything he isn't suppose to. He is super chill and loves his naps. He loves being involved in whatever your doing and can be a cuddle bug. He does very well walking on a leash and rarely will pull. Overall, Walton is a pretty low maintenance friendly dog." Another foster says "He got in the car all by himself, was pretty calm and sat like the good boy he is the whole time. He's very food motivated and seems to know his name fairly well along with sit and is still learning how to lay down. He's the most snuggly dog I've ever met who enjoys laying next to me on the couch and being near me while I work from home or do chores around the house. Seemed to be potty trained and did okay in the crate with minimal whining at first, but I think he would benefit from some training overall." --- Volunteers say "Walton is an absolute sweetheart. He was incredibly calm in the car and does great on walks. He loved to do whatever I was doing but he is a big cuddler and forsure thinks he's a lap dog. He was happy to hang out with whoever and was excited to meet all the new people at Starbucks. He would be great in many homes with many lifestyles because he equally likes to chill on the couch or go on walks. He likes to be very close to his person at all times so he would make a great best friend." "He was excellent on the leash, didn't pull me at all and was very easy to redirect if he started to stray one way or another :) He was on edge and stopped in his tracks when he saw 1) a permit driver and his instructor in a red vehicle 2) an unknown man who got out of his car in the CMHS parking lot. He did come over to me once I knelt down and called him, but he was much harder to redirect at those moments. I'm not sure if he's wary of men or vehicles, but something to possibly explore further? He was a bit too nervous to accept treats when we took a break during the walk, and all he really wanted to do was give some gentle kisses and get his big head kissed. Such a wonderful, sweet dog and so easy to fall in love with!!! Whoever adopts him will be incredibly lucky." "We went to my house and played fetch for a little bit, tried to teach him a few tricks, then watched tv for about an hour. He was very calm and seemed to be tired, but was very sweet. I think he would be perfect for a family with kids or just a couple that is looking for a calm dog. I think someone that could give him a lot of attention would be nice as well since he loves to cuddle!" "Walton was such a good dog. He was very excited and jumpy initially but once he calmed down a bit his leash skills were PHENOMENAL. He walked right by my side the whole time no tugging at all and took treats very gently. He's such a sweet boy and any person would be so lucky to have him."
