Story
*Trace’s adoption fee has been sponsored thanks to a generous donor*Hi, my name is Trace! I have been told I am a sweet little lady who has stolen many hearts. I am named after the artful technique of tracing, and I bring a unique story waiting to unfold – a story of love, companionship, and the beauty of creating lasting connections. The beginning of my story is not what my friends would have wanted for me. But, the best of my story is yet to come!I came to Warrior Dog in August as an expectant momma. My 10 puppies were born via emergency c-section in mid-September. I have spent 8 weeks caring for and teaching my babies in the art of being good dogs. I keep hearing that I am an excellent teacher! Some things to know about me: - I am a gentle and affectionate soul- I love my people. With my history, I like to take some time to truly trust new humans. But, once I do, I will wiggle my way right into your heart. - I am told that I am a very smart girl who will definitely be a motivated learner.- I walk well on a leash- I learned to approach humans for affection. Before coming to MN, I never lived inside a home so I never had to share my space like that before. So it would be best if I was the only dog to get your love and attention. My humans can say for sure that I am house trained and kennel trained! My friends here say to know me is to love me. Are you ready to fall in love? I am ready and waiting to draw myself into your family portrait to make it complete!--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spay/neuter before adoption unless age is a factor with a puppy younger than 6-12 months at the time of adoption. If that is the case, the spay/neuter will be covered in the adoption fee and the owner will be responsible to have the procedures completed at a Warrior Dog Rescue Veterinarian at the appropriate time. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $0To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Are you looking for a go-with-the-flow, adorable and snuggly best friend to add to your family? Look no further, Gerti is the gal for you! Things about me you might like to know: Breed: Terrier Mix Color: Tan/White Size: 55 pounds (I am short and stocky like a bulldog) Age: Approximately 2-3 years Activity level: Low/Medium Things I do in my free time: I am a pretty chill girl, I spend most of my day relaxing. I am easily entertained watching the squirrels run along the fence in the yard or chillin’ on the porch in the sun. I love attention and snuggling with my human friends! I am content chewing on a Kong or chew bone. Things I know: I know how to sit for treats. I have basic house manners, I respond well if I am corrected. I am not the destructive type. Things I am working on: I could use basic training. I am learning not to jump on my human friends when I meet them. For the most part my foster family thinks I am pretty close to perfection. Kennel: I currently do not use a kennel when my foster family is at work/school. I am not kenneled at night and am content to lay on the couch or snuggle with you in bed. I love to sleep on my big cozy doggie bed. Word of warning, I do like to chew the stuffing out of toys and dog beds. Potty training: Bonus! I am 100% potty trained. The home I am currently in uses a fenced yard. Kids: I currently am in a house with two older teenagers. Older respectful children would be fine for me. Dogs: I currently live in a house with one middle aged large breed male dog. Ido love to snuggle with him. I would be fine living with or without another dog. Cats: Unknown Car Rides: I am a great passenger, no car sickness for me. I love to ride in the passenger seat with my doggie seatbelt! Walking: I am still working on not pulling too much on walks. I am a smart girl and with consistency I know I will be better.  I would love a walk a day, although there have been days when my foster mom is busy and I get along fine without it. She just makes sure I get some good play time outside. What to expect when you adopt me: You can expect to spend your days with a loyal, super cute best friend. Transitioning into my forever home should be smooth sailing! Additional information: I was picked up as a stray locally here in Minnesota. I was never claimed by my owner. Thanks to “Spots Last Stop Canine Rescue” I am getting the chance to find my furever home. If you would like to meet Gerti, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.

Story
Meet Ms. Marley! Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix Age: 2-3 years Weight: 50 pounds My Story: I was found as a stray in Brooklyn Park and wound up in the local shelter.  I was super sad and lonely but as luck would have it Spots Last Stop busted me out and things are looking up!  Now I’m on the search for my forever family. Activity Level: Medium.  I love to run in the fenced back yard and keep a lookout for squirrels and bunnies. I like to go in and out a lot and would love it if my forever family had a fenced in yard for me to play and explore.  I also love to go for walks!  I sometimes pull a little bit when I get excited but overall my leash skills aren’t too shabby. Potty Training: Piece of cake, I figured this out quickly after a few weeks in my foster home. Kennel Training: Rockstar status. I kennel during the day while my foster mom works and come out at lunch for a break to burn some energy and have a potty break. I also sleep in my kennel at night without a peep.  Its my safe space and I love it. Kids: I currently live with a teenager and I love hanging with her and her friends.  I would do best in a home with older, respectful kids.  Dogs: I prefer to be top dog so I would do best with mellow and/or submissive dogs.  I live with two dogs in my foster home now and for the most part we all get along great!  Every once in a while, I butt heads with the resident male dog because we both like to think we are in charge.  I would also be just fine as your one and only pup. Cats: I live with two cats now and I would never hurt them but I do like to chase them.  My foster parents think I would probably do best in a kitty free home so I can avoid the temptation. What I’m working on: I’m still kind of shy and unsure when I meet new people or get into new environments but I do warm up fairly quickly! I’m also learning not to jump on people when they get home or when people come to visit. I’m just a really sweet and happy girl and I have so much love to give! I can’t wait to have a family of my very own so please fill out an application and come meet me! If you would like to meet Marley, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.

Story
Meet Chance, a survivor with a heart full of love. His story is sadly familiar; he was abandoned in a field to fend for himself. Thankfully, a kind-hearted lady living nearby stepped in to help. She gave Chance the chance he needed to show just how much love and devotion he had to offer. In his foster home, Chance has proved to be quite the gentleman. He's house-trained and knows how to sit on command. But most importantly, he's a playful guy who thrives in the company of people. His foster mom does say he can be a bit pesky at times, but who can resist that playful spirit? Chance has a list of favorites that will make you smile. He adores playing tug-o-war and FETCH, and he's excellent at taking treats gently. He's an active pup, so he's looking for a family that enjoys adventures and keeping active. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a dog who's been through a lot and is ready to give his all, then Chance is the one. Don't miss the opportunity to make wonderful memories with this loving and loyal companion. Fill out your application today and give Chance the second chance he deserves! Story
Hey Frens! Thanks for stopping on my profile to get to know me....bet it's my gorgeous white coat and perky ears that caught your attention...right...am I right? A little about me: My sister and I were abandoned by my first family next to a busy highway surviving the best we could. Sister Asta (also adoptable) was terribly traumatized so I cared and protected her the best I could. We are incredibly close and stick together. I love adventures and occasional scavenger hunts. So I'm hoping to find an active family to feed my athletic and energetic nature. My favorite thing is to hang out with my foster dad doing projects in the backyard. I'm really a Tomboy in dogs clothes. I like ppl but cautious when I meet them. So, proper introduction is a must. Same goes for other dogs. I'm learning boundaries so I don't overwhelm other dogs around me. Cats are a no. Quick movements and loud noises puts me into action of "what are you doing? A quiet environment and no excitable children till I learn my boundaries. I'm also crate and leash trained. Hopefully you have found me, the new love of your life!!! Apply to adopt me soon!!! Love, Kinsley! Local adoption fee together is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee together is $600 (includes transport to your area and $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Meet Rio 'Member that scene from Lady and the Tramp where the dogs are sharing a single spaghetti? It's fake. I know this because no dog in their right tooting mind is going to share a pawsta string when there's an entire heckin meatball on the plate. Next thing you know we will find out that wasn't even pawsta, it was squash impersonating a pawsta :0 Either way, I'd have to have a stunt double for that scene because I do not enjoy sharing my food or treats. Foster Mom is practicing better table manners with me. Sharing is caring. She says. Which is ironical because she's never once so much as offered me even a nibble of her oreo cookies. I litterally look like an Oreo cookie which happens to be my Foster Moms favorite treat. Hint hint, send her a pallet for all the schooling she is doing for me. I LOVE TO TRAIN and Foster Mom says I'm a super fast learner. Indeed, I will do whatever a human wants for a food. I know my name, Rio, plus sit, come, down, come, "rest for cooperative care and a hand target. Speaking of Target, before you pick me up, be sure to stop off and get me lots of fetch toys. Get yourself something pretty too, like some chenille slippers, yeah, for yourself, I pawmise not to touch them. *crosses fingers behind his back* Foster Mom has been working with me on my dog-on-dog skills because I can be a real booger. I need a special kind of dog friend. Her own personal dog Jax is serving as my mentor. Here's what Jax has to say about me "Bruh, calm down. Dude, you need a home with a chill dog that is not easily annoyed. One that won't lash out but will still correct your obnoxiousness and inappropriate play. One that will tolerate your shenanigans. Okay, so you heard that raving review from my buddy ole pal compadre Jax. Note to self, find out what obnoxiousness, tolerate and inappropriate means, because honestly all I heard was chili dog and got hungry while visions of weenies danced in my head. :) Foster Mom did say, I would do best with a sturdy dog, my size or larger. I guess you need to know my size. I'm a ruff and tumble and mouthy player so your dog would have to be more of a rugby than hockey player. I have lots of fans on the internet and they also told me to be sure to mention my floppy ears, my freckled snooter and the fact that my feet most likely smell like frito pie which I'm fairly sure is a compliment. So if it helps to butter you up with compliments, I bet you smell like cheese because I think you're grate! Like most spunky young pups, I get the zoomies when excited. I love to play fetch and tug. I'm working on sharing my toys. I do need lots of approved chew toys such as pig ears. That reminds me, I am not good with cats. Cats are not approved toys. Cats are NOT approved toys. Worth repeating. I am crate trained, pretty much standard pawcedure. I did also try my heck hardest to get Foster Mom to give me driving lessons, so I could add that to my skill list, but she said "No Rio, dogs can't drive. I guess she's never seen a Subaru commercial. I like car rides but I don't enjoy being restrained so we are working on that too. I am loveable and active. Bath time and nail clip time are not a problem. Occasionally I impersonate a potato on the couch, but fun is more my taste. Foster Mom says if you are the type who enjoys entertaining antics and doesn't mind providing extra guidance, you'd be happy as my family. I would be good as an only son, but if you have current dogs that don't mind EXTRA level whippersnappers, that might work too. Foster Mom is a professional trainer and is willing to give you tips on how to make sure I stay on the path to good boy town. I'm excited to go to goodboyville with you as long as there are snacks and pit stops along the way. P.S. You're driving to good boy town, because 'member, Foster Mom wouldn't teach me how to drive. It's beyond her skill set. $200 Local Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes transportation to your area)

Story
I give you my very best “awoooo” as a hello! My name is Janet, and I was probably named after Ms. Jackson since we’re both such fabulous ladies. My siblings and I were strays down south before we were found by some lovely people. Turns out pets and kisses are about the best thing! A little bit about me: before coming to MN I had never been in this thing called a “house”. I’m learning things like stairs, the TV, and other household items aren’t so scary. I really enjoy learning new things, especially when treats are involved! I sleep all night in my kennel without a peep! My foster mom says I’m just the smartest girly! I’m so proud to announce that I still haven’t had a single accident in the house. Go me!!Otherwise, I’m pretty chill! I have lived with many other dogs and get along with them really well. I’ve been great at sharing my toys and having chew things around with other dogs. My foster mom says I have a perfectly squishable face, which I think is a compliment. I come out my shell a little bit more every day and am excited to see what new things I’m going to learn tomorrow.Hope to sniff you soon!!Janet is Heartworm positive and is waiting for a negative test result which can take 2-9 months after treatment. Her treatment has been completed and she will need a Heartworm test every 2 months to follow up on her treatment progress until she has a negative result. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise. Janet will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward. These medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Hi there! I’m Heidi, and I’m excited to share a little about me!I like the slow life - sitting in the sun, listening to the birds, and feeling the breeze. I’ve gone through some tough things, but I’m now in a wonderful environment and have met so many loving people along the way! I make friends with everyone, and I do think I’m the best lap dog around! I like kids, but I do get nervous around high energy kids. So I would do best around older ones. I’m the most affectionate pup, and I’ve never met a stranger! My way of saying hello is to fall into you and give you lots of kisses! I’m just the most friendly girl.Part of my story is that I am a mama of eleven pups who have found their forever homes! I’m a caring girl and just want to be right next to my people. I like most dogs, but really I mostly like the other calm dogs. I like slow intros to other pups as well. I would do well in a home either as an only pup, or with another pup who is respectful of my desire to just chill out. If I’m bothered by something, I usually just get up and move. You should also know, I'm a really good jumper! I would do well in a yard with a tall fence, or if there isn't a tall fence we can just walk outside on a leash. I'm the best co-worker for my foster mom as she works from home. I don't make a sound while she's working! And I'm a great sleeper! I haven’t had one accident in the house, and don't look for things to get into either. I’m pretty good with walking on a leash, I like to take my time to check out what is around me first. I absolutely love riding in cars! My foster mom says I’m just the best girl and that I deserve a best friend who will stop and smell the roses with me.Are you my forever snuggler?***FOSTER TO ADOPT***Heidi is Heartworm positive and not yet spayed. She will soon start her Heartworm treatment. Once her treatment is complete, and her spay is done, the adoption can be finalized. Once her adoption is finalized, it is the responsibility of the adoptive family to get a Heartworm test every 2 months to follow up on her treatment progress until she has a negative result which can take 2-9 months. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high-energy play or exercise. Heidi will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward.
