Story
Lloyd is an older gentleman seeking a retirement home who wants a well-mannered guy who is past the puppy stages. He is estimated to be about 8 years old. He is the typical pittie who loves all people and does the happiest backend booty dance for butt scratches. Lloyd loves to go on walks, play with his toys and be around his human. Age: 8 years Breed: Pitbull/mix  Weight: ~65lbs Kid-friendly: He's a big boy so we  recommend older kiddos! Dogs: Yes, likes to go off and do his own thing though, sniff trees and walk around. Cats: No, he does have prey drive. Crate trained: Yes!  Loves to sleep by his human family though. Potty trained: Yes Health concerns: He does require Thyroid medication daily. Current medications & estimated costs: ~$25 every 2 months Adoption fee: $275 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. Story
Meet  King , a sweet and mellow 9-year-old Pitbull with a heart as big as his love for belly rubs, car rides, and—above all— food  (nothing gets him more excited!). Despite being blind, King navigates his world with impressive ease and confidence, even tackling stairs like a pro. He's fully potty trained, great with other dogs, adores older children, and has never shown food aggression—he’s just a gentle, snuggly soul. Though he's not a fan of crates, King is happiest lounging on the couch or snuggling up next to you, soaking in all the love. If you're looking for a calm, loving companion who will be your biggest fan (especially if treats are involved),  King is ready to rule your heart! Name: King Age: 9 yrs Sex: Male Altered: Yes Breed: Pitbull Weight: 50 lbs Friend with Kid-friendly: Loves the older children Friend with Dogs: Yes Friend with Cats: Not sure Crate trained: Yes, but doesn’t like them Potty trained: Yes Health concerns: Blind + Heartworm Positive Current medications & estimated costs: Currently on prednisone as part of his heartworm treatment, will need second and third heartworm injections   As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). Story
Meet Colby! He arrived with his friend, Maggie. He is housetrained and will let his people know he needs to go outside by staring at them. He has lived with other dogs (Maggie) and been around children and was friendly with all of them. Colby is still learning commands and manners. He does tend to jump up on his people as a greeting, so training would help curb this behavior. Colby does tend to "alarm bark" when he first sees someone, but after they come up and greet him, he's great. He is not used to being in a kennel when his people are gone; he spends time in a bedroom due to not liking a kennel much. He may need kennel training in the future. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Story
Willow is a sweet girl who loves to greet you with her toys, goes between and rubs against your legs for pets and scratches. She finds any spot that has sunshine to relax in and loves to play fetch (although she only brings it back about half of the time). She will curl up on the couch or the bed, loves to be under the covers but listens well if you need her to get down or come here. She loves the lake. She does need more practice on the leash and with not jumping up on people. She gets along with 95% of other dogs and people but will act guarded with the other 5%- however she has never bitten anyone ever, just growls. She is allergic to chicken and we feed her limited ingredient dog food-sometimes companies will hide chicken product in the ingredients (just be careful to read up). She needs someone who has knowledge of training and the patience to be consistent with her. She is being rehomed at no fault of her own, she deserves the best life.

Story
Meet Sophie! Sophie is an energetic girl who is looking for a new home! She's always at a level 10 and loves to run and chase. Sophie would do amazing in a home with an active family. She would benefit from consistent training and mental enrichment to keep her from going stir-crazy! Sophie does show signs of separation anxiety when left alone. She would do best being left in a kennel when home alone. This will keep her feeling safe and secure and help to keep Sophie out of trouble when no one is home to keep an eye out. Sophie has met dogs and did well with them. She has met cats and young children but did not have good interactions with them. Sophie does enjoy chasing things, so a home with no cats, young children, and small animals would be ideal for Sophie. Slow and proper introductions to resident pets and children are always recommended when bringing home a new animal. Ask a TCHS staff member for tips! *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896.
