A kind Samaritan reached out on her behalf and we were able to get her to us here at PCHS.Shayna spent several weeks getting some much needed TLC. She enjoys cuddling up on cozy beds, spending time with people, and having a tasty treat! Shayna is a large girl and is nearing 70 pounds. She is estimated to be a mixed breed girl and is thought to be around 3 years old. She would thrive in a home that has time to show her structure, consistency and unwavering love. Annie is a sweet, petite pittie mix who came to PCHS from one of our rescue partners, and she’s been stealing hearts ever since. When Annie arrived, she had a limp in her left front leg. After a full veterinary workup, it was discovered she had a fractured elbow. Annie bravely went through surgery, where two pins were placed to repair the break, and she’s now on the road to healing and feeling better every day. What Annie loves most in the world? People. She is happiest when she’s close to her humans...snuggling, soaking up attention, or just being near you. Dover is a nearly 2-year-old pittie with an all-white coat, a big, blocky pittie head, and movie-star good looks. Weighing in at about 60 pounds, he’s a solid, handsome guy who turns heads wherever he goes.Dover came to PCHS from one of our rescue partners and is truly a good boy. Like many young pitties, he’s still learning his manners and would benefit from continued obedience training. When he gets overly excited, he can be a bit mouthy, so we recommend a home where children are 12 years and older. He would be best as the only pet in the home with no cats or other dogs. With structure, consistency, and positive training, Dover has tons of potential to be an amazing companion. He’s at that fun, goofy age where he’s eager to learn and ready to bond with his people. Applications can be found on the homepage of the Paws and Claws website. Once you submit an application, a PCHS staff member will contact you with next steps to meet her.***Meet Kiera! This sweet girl was surrendered to Rochester Animal Control when her owners could no longer care for her. She is a middle aged girl and weighs just under 70 pounds. Kiera was unsure and nervous when she first arrived at animal control, but she is starting to learn how nice the officers are and she is picking up her new routine. Kiera walks well on a leash and would be perfect for a family who wants a more mature dog that does not have a ton of puppy energy, but is up for going on leisurely walks around the neighborhood. Unfortunately, no one came looking for her so she is now on the hunt for a new forever home!Marge is estimated to be between 3 and 4 years old and weighs around 55 pounds. She seems like she has had pups in her past, but those days are over for her now! She is ready to be in her own home where she cane be a spoiled pup! 5 1/2 year old pit...muscular build..lots of energy... good boy/smart...needs consistent and able bodied owner.. breaks my heart to have to rehome him but owner has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is weakened and is unable to care for the dog.. he lives with a cat that he chases around the house but he doesn't hurt her he's been around kids but tends to jump and scratch them but with training consistency this will be a great dog he's not mean but he needs a firm hand... Maybe best if new home doesn't have another dog right now although he can get along with dogs

Miller is currently housed at Rochester Animal Control- please apply online and PCHS staff will be in touch to set up an appointmemt to meet him! Meet Miller! He and his brother, Stephan, went on an unauthorized jaunt around town when they were picked up and taken in to Rochester Animal Control. Their owners were located, but ultimatly decided that they were unable to keep them any longer. They were released to Rochester Animal Control and now are on the look out for their forever homes! While these boys do get along, they don`t need to be adopted to the same home. Miller is larger than his brother, and is the more dominant of the two. Stephan and Miller have both lived with other dogs in tehpast, and have done well. Both are goofy and happy boys who would love to find active families to enjoy life with! Miller is around 2 years old and would benefit from getting some basic training to help hone in on his manners, and help him build his confidence. Toby is a 2.5-year-old, 70-lb pit bull terrier with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. His past is largely unknown, and I adopted him from a shelter about two months ago hoping to give him a fresh start. Toby is truly an amazing dog, but I’ve come to the difficult realization that I’m not trained or equipped to give him the life he truly needs. Toby is fully potty trained and crate trained and does best with routine and structure. He loves cuddling, being outside, and playing with his stuffed animals—sticks are his absolute favorite. He bonds deeply with his person and is very loyal and protective of those he trusts. It’s important to be transparent: Toby does have a bite history, primarily in stressful or unfamiliar situations. These behaviors come from fear and protectiveness, not a lack of love. Because of this, Toby will need an experienced, confident owner who understands protective or reactive dogs and can provide clear boundaries, patience, and continued training.
