Story
This boy was surrendered due to the wife not wanting him around a newborn. Bob did nothing wrong and is a well behaved boy. He does need time to get used to new people but warms up pretty quickly. He gets along with other dogs and likes to play. He loves tennis balls and loves to chase them... he can fit 2 in his mouth at a time. He does well on a leash and is house broken. He does like children but will need time to adjust to their energy. He can get a little protective over what he considers "his" but is not a mean protector.... more bark than bite. Some added people socialization would probably help him. He is a good boy who was given a raw deal by his supposed family so he;s now looking for a new chance. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported through Rescue Riders.

Story
Meet Jenga, the 2 y/o Pit Bull mix who`s ready to bring excitement and fun to your life - just like the game she’s named after! At first, Jenga might seem a little cautious around new people, showing her need for space with a bark or growl. But don`t let that first move fool you; once you start building trust, the fun begins! With a little patience and time to warm up, you’ll soon discover the high-energy, fun-loving cheerleader she is at heart. Jenga loves to play rough with other dogs and is the life of the pawrty in MACC`s playgroup program. Whether it`s racing around or wrestling, she’s always ready for action. When paired one-on-one with a more laid-back dog, she may need a little help from her handler to keep the playtime mutual, as her love for the game of chase can sometimes be a little obnoxious to the unwilling. Luckily, Jenga is very receptive to direction and is eager to please her humans! Here is a link to her playgroup videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS5FLiVr89soAq-VGh-P9QOKcFn-POvnEJenga doesn’t only love to run with dogs; she is more than happy to chase cats, too! This girly got the chance to live with a kitty for a couple of weeks but unfortunately needed to be surrendered because of her relentless pursuit of the fun of the chase. Jenga should only go to a home that has no cats nor other small animals.Jenga is also ready to stack up some new skills—she already knows a few basic obedience commands and would love to keep building her knowledge. An obedience class would be the perfect way for her to learn even more, and a great way to strengthen the bond between you and this clever pup! Jenga is also potty trained! She will whine at you or pace in front of the door as a sign that she needs to “go”. Jenga is also mostly crate trained; she will walk in the crate when told “Jenga crate” but is initially vocal; thus, apartment living likely isn’t her ideal scenario.Jenga is currently being fostered in the home with another (female) small breed dog, a chinchilla, an adult male and woman, and one child. She was initially very fearful of the adult male, but after a few hours of being ignored she settled right in and now prefers him to the adult female, when it comes to snuggle time. She has also done well with the older, dog savvy child in the home.Like a game of Jenga, Jenga`s personality is layered—what starts off a bit uncertain can quickly turn into a rewarding, stable relationship with the r

Story
Say hello to April! April is a 1.5 year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix and 59 lbs of pure energy and affection.April might take a bit of time to gain confidence around new people, but once she does she will be your best friend forever! She understands that her calling in life is to act as her human’s shadow and will go the extra mile in order to not miss out on any action happening at home. This might even include her licking your hair while you catch up on your latest Netflix binge!April is house trained. It is likely that April used to spend most of her time outdoors, so she may need a bit of guidance as to where the appropriate place to go potty is. She has caught on quickly in her foster home, no accidents! April is also crate trained. She does well in her crate at night and while home alone. While April prefers to see her humans throughout the day, she does well when left home alone and has not been known to vocalize or be destructive. She requires a medium level of activity and is content with a daily walk and plenty of stuffed toys to play with! April is a curious girl who would love to have a fenced yard to sniff around in but it is not required.April has enjoyed meeting and playing with dogs in her foster home and does very well. She prefers to have a confident dog around to help teach her how to be the best pup! Ideally, April would find a forever home that has a built-in canine companion but it is not required. When it comes to cats, April has yet to meet one! She has shown signs of a prey drive so a meet-and-greet would be necessary if there is a cat in the household. When April is feeling playful, her energy can be very high! Her play style is all in good fun but this may overwhelm young children as she can get a bit mouthy. She would do best in a household with children 13 years and older.April is ready to meet her forever home! With patience and consistent structure she will blossom into the perfect companion that anyone could ask for. If you’re interested in learning more about April and think she might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! Whoever becomes her family will be lucky they did.https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Hi! My name is Dahlia, but my foster parents call me Dolly, Dolly Dingo, or Dolly Doobers.I’m a 2-5 yo Pit Bull and I'm really really cute. I'm a bit timid when I first meet people, but warm up quickly with a gentle, controlled approach. I love to give kisses, and may or may not slobber your face, arm, leg, ear, or whatever given part of you I can reach at the time.I can't tell you what my life was like before rescue, but I'm pretty sure I've had a lot of puppies. I was picked up by Animal Control while running free, and stayed there for a little over a month until I got out. I think I've had some really basic training, because I know how to sit at food time, but beyond that I need work on a leash and some improvement on my basic manners.I'm not tall, but my foster dad says I'm "A real thickums McGee" and I'm not really aware of how solid or heavy I am, so your personal space is at a definite risk with me around, I just want to be by people! I have to be in a home with no other dogs, as I get scared and defensive when they get close.I do well in a crate for the most part, although I may whine when I feel like I'm left alone in one. Because I'm a beefcake, I would also probably do best in a home without younger children due to my size but would likely love them. Overall though, I'm a very very sweet lover girl who just wants to be your favorite companion and best buddy to whoever adopts me.If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling:https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Story
Just as his name says, this boy is ready for the adventure of a lifetime! Indiana Bones is a 1.5-year-old, 40 lbs Pibble full of pure love and joy. He is so affectionate and wants nothing more than to cuddle up with his favorite person and hang out!Indiana is potty trained and crate trained! He enjoys spending time with other dogs and would prefer if he has a friendly buddy around to help him stay confident. If he meets a dog that matches his energy, they are friends for life! As far as cats go, he’s learning how to pick up on their body language. He’s largely uninterested in his foster family’s cats but is working on boundaries with them! Indiana has yet to spend time with children. This guy would love a home where someone is there to see him throughout the day. He responds well to consistency and routine. Indiana’s forever family should be one that’s dedicated to providing him with daily activity and stimulation and, although a fenced yard isn’t necessary, it’s a great tool to help him burn off energy and work on training! With continued love and affection, Indiana Bones will be sure to thrive! Story
Meet Apollo, a lively, affectionate 18-month-old Lab-Pit mix with a love for adventure, a passion for fetch, and a penchant for hugs! Weighing in at 55 pounds, Apollo sports a sleek black coat with hints of brown and a white “eagle” marking on his chest. He’s an energetic and playful companion who needs an active household that can keep up with his high energy and zest for life.Apollo is house-trained and crate-trained, easily making it through the night without any issues. He’s done very well spending nighttime outside of the crate and usually opts for a comfy spot on the couch. He’s social with other dogs and loves to play, though his playstyle can be a bit intense for some. With the right doggie friend and some guidance, he could be a great sibling to a similarly energetic dog. While he’s met cats through a fence, his high-energy nature may make him a little too interested in cats indoors, so a gradual introduction or a cat-free home might be best. Apollo is good with older kids (13+), but he needs clear boundaries and a confident handler to help him understand his strength.Apollo’s daily routine includes long walks and plenty of fetch time. His favorite game is chasing down a tennis ball, though he may sometimes playfully dart away with it before returning. Apollo is learning new commands daily, including “sit,” “no,” and “stay,” though he occasionally lets out a funny “sigh” when he doesn’t get his way. His foster notes that he gives the best hugs and has a hilarious habit of expressing his “opinion” with little sounds when he loses a tug-of-war for direction on a walk. This pup would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore to his heart’s content. Though not prone to separation anxiety, Apollo prefers to have someone around; he’s only alone for a few hours a week and would do best in a home where he can get plenty of companionship and attention. For a family that loves the outdoors and is ready to share in Apollo’s boundless enthusiasm, he’ll be a loyal, loving, and endlessly entertaining addition! Ready to meet your new best friend? Apollo can’t wait to show you his signature hug!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Bruce is a bundle of joy with an endless supply of energy and kisses! At 70 pounds, this Pit Bull/retriever mix still believes he’s a lap dog, blissfully unaware of his size. Whether he's cuddling on the couch with his head in your lap or playing with his squeaky toys, Bruce is a happy-go-lucky pup ready to bring joy to his forever family.Bruce has adjusted well to his new foster home and loves soaking up the affection he receives. He is house-trained (only one accident since arriving) and crate-trained, where he is usually settling down after a whine or two. While he does bark when he hears noises in his apartment building, he settles easily, making him a good fit for shared walls. His change in environment may be causing him to get an upset stomach more easily now, so he's currently on a special diet for a sensitive stomach while we figure that out.Bruce loves to make new friends—that means more playtime for him! He’s been friendly with people and the dogs he’s met so far. When he's met other dogs, they all have been 30+ pounds, so his compatibility with smaller dogs is still unknown. He hasn’t been around children or cats yet, so a slow introduction would be recommended to prevent him from unintentionally knocking someone over when he's excited. He is very energetic, so he likes all the play and walks he can get! Bruce is a fun-loving pup that adores squeaky toys, tennis balls, and anything else he can play with. While lots of playtime is helpful, he will also need regular exercise and a fenced yard to manage his high-energy personality. With his affectionate nature and fun-loving spirit, Bruce would thrive with a family that can keep up with his zest for life. If you're looking for a playful, cuddly, and sweet companion, Bruce is the perfect addition to your home!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Cantaloupe is a 1-2 year old Pit Bull mix who is as sweet as her name! Currently 32 pounds, she has a charming habit of headbutting people for snuggles and pets, along with a happy “om nom nom” grumble when eating. She loves playing tug and giving kisses, so she's ready to give lots of love to her new home. She is house-trained and is adjusting well to indoor living. She is also crate-trained, happily following treats into her crate and settling in after brief grumbles. This clever dog already knows basic commands like “sit” and has learned door manners within her first night at her foster home. She is a fast learner but still needs guidance while she's young, like learning to stay off countertops and improving her manners around strangers. Cantaloupe has lived with cats and is curious yet very respectful of their boundaries, making her suitable for homes with feline companions. She has lived with a 13-year-old child, and enjoys playing tug with them as well. She hasn’t had close interactions with other dogs yet, so she would likely need slow introductions. This young dog is full of personality. She enjoys short walks or running around a fenced yard. She also likes tossing around some stuffies by herself, then she'd love to play tug with you! When she chases the braid toy, she's happy to go again and again: up and over your knees, under, through, over, under, repeat. She doesn’t require a fence but should be kept on a leash to prevent her from chasing bunnies. Cantaloupe has some challenges to work on, particularly her fear of strangers and new places. Despite her initial nervousness, she quickly bonded with her foster mom. With lots of love and slow introductions, she is sure to improve her social skills and is learning more every day.Cantaloupe’s ideal family will be patient, willing to continue her socialization, and ready to provide her with the love and structure she needs to thrive. Story
MAX is the dog of the HOUR!!!! There isn't a better dog available. Max's life began dreadfully. In his short life of 1.5 years old, Max found himself without a home, had to have an extensive surgery on his hip due to an unknown injury, and has lived for months in a kennel in boarding at a vet clinic. He is completely vetted, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and is heartworm negative! He weighs approximately 45 to 50 pounds. Recently, Max landed the best foster home ever and is showing off his awesome personality! If you have other pets, he will love them!!! He gets along with cats, dogs, birds and even tortoises. He is very playful and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Max does like to be near his person and seems to have some separation anxiety. His favorite things are lying next to his person, playing with his Nylabone or squeaky toy, and romping and playing with a willing canine. He loves car rides and walks very well on a leash. He sits, shakes hands, and also knows other tricks. He is also very willing to learn more!! Max would excel in a home with another pet, and it would be awesome if he could be someone that works from home or could bring him to work. He has excellent house manners and does his business outside!
