You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB:  06/01/2018 Requires another dog in home: No- best as an only dog   Okay with dogs of all sizes: No Okay with cats: No Okay with children under 12 years old: Yes Weight: 65 pounds Requires a fenced yard:     No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hi I'm Peggy!  I'm a gorgeous lady on the lookout for the perfect family.  I'm a loving girl with my family and I'm always ready for belly rubs, booty scratches and hugs and kisses.  I love to go on walks, but if I smell something interesting I've been known to pull so I can go investigate.  Sorry not sorry haha!  In my foster home I enjoy curling up in front of the fire on my blankie and chewing on bones.  Bones are the best!  I also enjoy car rides.  My foster mama lets me tag along with her and I quietly chew on bones while she runs into the store for a minute.  I'm potty and kennel trained.  I like kids, but sometimes I get a little too excited and might knock down little ones.  I'm not very good with dogs so I'd prefer to be the only princess in my new home.  This applies to kitties and those squirrels outside too.  It's my yard and they need to know they aren't allowed!  When I came into rescue I had a belly full of babies.  I raised them and then it was my turn to go to the vet to make sure I was forever done being a mama.  I had a couple lumps that were removed at the time and they were found to be cancerous.  The doctor says they got good margins and I can now find my happily ever after and hope that I don’t develop anymore pesky lumps.   Please  note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Welcome Tucker to CCPAL Rescue Foster Program. Tucker is a 1-year-old Pitbull dog. He was found as a stray on the construction site and a wonderful good Samaritan found him and is fostering him until he finds his forever home. His hair is super soft and his is gushy sweet. He warms up slow to new people and is very bonded and loyal to his human. He has an adorable underbite. He would be willing to wear outfits and hats if it is what his human wanted. He is great on leash and doesn’t pull and he is good in a car. He doesn’t shed and is a very very clean boy. He likes to keep his feet clean and really manages to stay out of any messes other dogs would normally get into. He is good in his crate and he is potty trained. He currently lives with other dogs but he is jealous of attention. His best home would really be where he can be the only dog and get all the snuggles from his family. I think a quieter home over the family that has a loud bustling group of people in it. He would be perfect for the single woman or man who would like a companion animal to walk, jog hike or cuddle with. He doesn’t need lots of exercise for happiness. He is an inside dog and loves to be in the house next to his person. He can stay in his crate while you work. He can also be trusted outside his crate. He is healthy, vaccinated, neutered and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See his cute video!!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Meet Amelia, our resident superhero pittie who proves that you don’t need sight to be fearless, sweet, and—most importantly—the best nap partner in the world. At 5 years old, Amelia is living her best life, exploring her world one sniff at a time, and honestly, she’s nailing it. Now, we have to warn you: Amelia’s superpower might just be stealing your heart, but she’s also a master at snuggling. She’s basically a built-in space heater when she sleeps, so if you’re looking to save on heating bills this winter, she’s got you covered. Oh, and did we mention she LOVES being the little spoon? Yeah, you read that right. Amelia lives for those tight, cozy snuggle sessions. When it comes to her fellow canine friends, Amelia is totally cool. She’s good with all dogs ranging from teeny-tiny 5-pound pups to 100-pound gentle giants. And guess what? She’s a champ with all of them! She hasn’t quite worked up the confidence to play directly with them yet, though. Can you blame her? She can’t see how they’re reacting, so she’s all about parallel play for now. Amelia is blind, but that doesn't slow her down one bit!  Amelia does have a bit of a prey drive towards kitties, but being blind, she can't catch them. It's probably because they never let her sniff them to become friends, but if you have a kitty, she may be quite interested for a bit. You’ll find her having a blast with her balls, soft toys, and chews right next to her friends. She’s all about teamwork… from a slight distance. Speaking of toys, Amelia LOVES her chews. They’re her jam, her thing, her absolute favorite. Need to keep her entertained? Toss her a chew, and she’s in her happy place. Now, we’ve got to talk about her explorer side. Amelia may be blind, but that doesn’t stop her from confidently checking out her surroundings. If there’s something new, she’s on it, like the fearless adventurer she is. Her foster mom has ADHD and is constantly moving things around like she’s rearranging a life-sized game of Tetris, but as long as Amelia’s bed, food, and water stay in the same place, she’s all good. She might be a little confused when her favorite chair’s been relocated, but no stress—it’s all part of the adventure. Barking Alert: Amelia may bark at new people at first. But here’s the thing—she’s just saying, “Hold up, let me sniff you real quick!” Once she gets that scent, the barking stops, and out come the kisses.  She’s basically a cuddle factory, but she’s got a quality control process (the sniff test) first.  She is potty trained, on a schedule at her foster home, leash trained, but has a distaste for the kennel thing - she prefers to stay out and waits for you to come home! Amelia’s just about perfect with dogs of all sizes, kids, and adults. But—and here’s the only catch—since she can’t see what’s going on, she might get startled and nip if something surprises her. It’s rare, but it’s happened, so she’d do best in a home without young kids to keep things chill and safe. Let’s not forget about Amelia’s nap game. When she’s had enough playtime (or parallel playtime), she’ll wander off and find the coziest spot available, probably your bed, and settle in for some well-deserved shut-eye. While she’s napping, prepare to be amazed by how warm she gets. Seriously, who needs blankets when you’ve got Amelia the Toasty Pittie? Oh, and if you’ve got a puppy pile going, don’t be surprised if Amelia joins right in! She’s all about the group nap life, snuggling right in the middle of her doggy pals. So, if you’re looking for a snuggle pro, a chew enthusiast, and a dog who’s 100% up for life’s adventures (even with the occasional furniture shuffle), Amelia is your girl! She’s sweet, brave, and ready to find her forever cuddle buddy (that’s you!). Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Story
This boy was surrendered due to the wife not wanting him around a newborn. Bob did nothing wrong and is a well behaved boy. He does need time to get used to new people but warms up pretty quickly. He gets along with other dogs and likes to play. He loves tennis balls and loves to chase them... he can fit 2 in his mouth at a time. He does well on a leash and is house broken. He does like children but will need time to adjust to their energy. He can get a little protective over what he considers "his" but is not a mean protector.... more bark than bite. Some added people socialization would probably help him. He is a good boy who was given a raw deal by his supposed family so he;s now looking for a new chance. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported through Rescue Riders.

Story
If you are looking for an easy-peasy couch potato kind of a pup, Tova is your gal!We don’t often have dogs we can recommend for a low-energy household, so Tova is a rarity in that. Being that she is 6 years old, she is past the puppy phase. This also means you aren’t going to have all your stuff chewed up. ?? When hanging out with her human friends, Tova has a very calm/zen energy and is beloved by volunteers so much that she is often chosen as a Field Trip dog. She walks well on leash and does great going out into the community for a walk, but she doesn’t require a long adventure every day like many other dogs do. Tova knows a couple of basic commands and was potty trained in her previous home. She refuses to go potty in her kennel run at the shelter, so we anticipate that getting onto a potty training schedule in her new home will be a breeze. Tova has been very gentle with the adult canine handlers at the shelter, and should do ok with dog savvy older kiddos who are aware of appropriate dog handling skills (i.e. don’t touch their eyes, mouth, don’t pull their tail, etc).Tova has had her share of litters (the last one being fairly recent), so she is used to giving Mom energy when among her fellow canines. Some would call this ‘bossy’. In the playgroup program at MACC, Tova has done best with male dogs as the Mom Energy can be a bit much for other female dogs. She likes to occasionally play, but isn’t a high energy gal with other dogs; if her furever home has another dog, she would do best with a lower-energy friendly male dog. You can see her playgroup videos, here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS5FLiVr89sr6y5NyW709VQ-45w0rJTT1&si=CXeA5oOpz9bfOUrQWe are excited for Tova to be done having babies, and just being someone’s baby, instead. Please come meet this diamond in the ruff.MACC`s walk-in adoption hours are:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 1-5pmThursday: 1-7pmSaturday: 11am-3pm

Story
Much like the Tyrannosaurus Rex has an abnormally large head in comparison to the rest of their body, so does RC. Fortunately, though, he takes treats much nicer than a T-Rex.RC loves to be around people and his medium energy level makes him a joy to hang out with. MACC volunteer dog walkers note that he does a great job following instruction, knows a few commands already, and does a pretty good job maintaining a loose leash on walks! Besides the occasional squirrel to chase, of course. RC is curious and watchful but not overbearing. He loves treats – and knows the word ‘treat’ – and would love to bond with his new owners by doing some more obedience work after he’s adopted. RC was surrendered by his previous owner so we know a bit about his history; primarily the fact that he did not do well with dogs in his previous home. This is an observation that has held true for us in the shelter as well. Being around dogs clearly stresses RC out, and attempts to integrate him into our playgroup program have been not-so-stellar, with RC starting a scuffle with another conflict-avoidant dog. Thus, it’s very important that RC be the only dog in his forever home.RC loves to have his ears scratched and takes treats so, so, so soft. We know that his amazing rockstar behavior with humans will entice the right one-animal-only family to come in and meet him in pawrson! If that’s you or someone you know, please come meet RC during Walk-in Adoption Hours!Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 1:00 – 5:00 PMThursday 1:00 – 7:00 PMSaturday 11:00 – 3:00 PM

Story
Meet Lucky! This incredibly handsome love bug was found super skinny and roaming the streets with burned paws. Some wonderful people took him in and got him to the vet to get treated. He’s now at our rescue and he’s the sweetest, least reactive dog ever. He did great meeting the front yard pack and had no reaction to being growled at. He's a little too much for small dogs and cats, but he'd love another medium/large dog to play with in his forever home. He’s a completely white pit bull with one mostly blue eye and one light brown eye. Lucky is about 1 year old and weighs 47 pounds, but he should put on 5-7 pounds. He’s so incredibly loving and sweet, he thinks everyone he meets is his best friend. He’s loving and smart—he already knows sit and is very respectful. Lucky really enjoys being with people. He’ll make an excellent companion!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.November 4, 2024, 11:33 am

Story
For my own personal reasons, my apartment is not a good fit for him unfortunately and its not fair to him. He needs somewhere he can run free and be around other dogs-he is very friendly around other dogs. Sherlock has been an amazing companion and he is sweet, cuddly, and incredibly lovable. He got a goofy, gentle nature and loves nothing more than being close to people, whether it laying in bed or snuggling on the couch next to me. Sherlock can get a little mouthy when hes asking for more attention, especially when you stop petting him behind the ears-his favorite spot. However, he is always easy to correct and redirect, and his behavior has never been aggressive. Sherlock’s energy is friendly and chill, going with the flow, but he also enjoys playtime and is always ready for a good walk or playdate with other dogs. He thrives in the company of friendly dogs or children, and I believe he would do best in a home where he can run and play without restrictions and be cuddle with you.

These pups are in Golden Valley, Minnesota too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, I’m Bell, a 7-year-old, 50-pound English Bulldog with a big heart and an even bigger personality! I’m a sweet girl who loves nothing more than lounging at home and playing fetch or keep-away with my favorite balls. I may be a bit older, but I’m still full of energy and love to stay active! I’m potty trained and do well with crate time, though sometimes I’ll bark if I don’t get my way. I also need daily eye drops, but I’m good about taking them. I prefer a quieter, adult-only home since busy places and small kids make me nervous. I do best with smaller dogs and would thrive as a solo dog or with a calm companion. I’ve got a bit of a bossy side and can guard my water, so having someone with experience around dogs would be ideal! At home, I’m super affectionate with the adults I trust, and I love snuggling on the couch—yep, I’m a big lap dog! I’m happy going on leash walks for potty breaks and exercise, so I don’t need a fenced yard. While I may be a bit picky about meeting new people in busy settings, once I warm up, I’m a loyal, loving companion. If you’re looking for a special, low-maintenance Bulldog who just wants to be your best friend and play fetch, I’m your girl! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Visit this link  www.underdogrescuemn.com/donate   to donate.  (Please note: A Paypal account is not necessary to use Paypal. When you get to the Paypal page, just use the link to the left of their login to make your donation via Paypal without an account.) November 7, 2024, 10:14 pm
