Say hello to April! April is a 2.5 year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix and 62 lbs of pure energy and affection. Just look at that smile!April might take a bit of time to gain confidence around new people, but once she does she will be your best friend forever! She understands that her calling in life is to act as her human’s shadow and will go the extra mile in order to not miss out on any action happening at home. She is truly made to be your best friend.April is house trained. It is likely that April used to spend most of her time outdoors, so she may need a bit of guidance as to where the appropriate place to go potty is. She has caught on quickly in her foster home, no accidents! April is also crate trained. She does well in her crate at night and while home alone. Overall, she is the coziest pup who loves fireplaces, heat vents, cozy blankets, cuddling with her humans.While April prefers to see her humans throughout the day, she does well when left home alone and has not been known to vocalize or be destructive. She requires a medium level of activity and is content with a daily walk and plenty of stuffed toys to play with! April is a curious girl who would love to have a fenced yard to sniff around in but it is not required.April has had a difficult journey before coming into our rescue, and now April would do better in a no-dog home. She still does not really know how to interact with other dogs, and on our walks she needs to steer away from other furry friends. She also cannot live with cats.When April is feeling playful, her energy can be very high! Her play style is all in good fun but this may overwhelm young children as she can get a bit mouthy. She would do best in a household with children 13 years and older.April is ready to meet her forever home! Poncho is a excitable, cuddly, playful, and curious pup who loves walks, playing with other dogs, and curling up at our feet at the end of the day. He has attended and passed a 4 week basic obedience course (sit,stay, drop, etc commands) and is crate and house potty trained. Unfortunately, our cat and dog have not bonded as we'd hoped and our cats aggressive response to Poncho make us worried about potential harm coming to either or both at some time. Poncho is still working on not greeting people by jumping up on them, so at least his time, he is not ideal for a family with young children. Poncho would be perfect for a home with no cats, no children, an ability to take him for a 20 min walk once a day, and willingness to cuddle up with him on the couch at the end of the day.

She's been waiting over a year and a half for her chance! Lois is an outgoing, friendly, playful, athletic, bubbly, energetic, happy-go-lucky girl who truly loves playing with her friends. She’s had a few different dog friends (all boys) that she’s played with and she is always up for a game of chase with some zoomies. No girl dogs for her, or cats. She really needs an active household. She’ll keep everyone entertained! Her big smile is just too contagious. Besides a family of her own, Lois also needs a secure, fenced yard. She’s quite the athlete and she likes to show off her athletic prowess. So we want to make sure that she stays safe! Lois is a great size - around 40-45 lb. She’s probably in the 2-3 year old range. She’ll be an amazing dog for the right home! This animal is being fostered in the South but transport to a location near you is included in your adoption fee. He is just a cute boy who is ready for a forever family. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.
