Story
Hi there I'm Alton and I'd love to be your new best buddy. I enjoy playing with other dogs and being around human family as well. I am a good boy and do fine in a crate and my foster parent says I am house trained as well. I know how to sit and I listen when you call me. I will listen to go in my crate when you tell me to but I really enjoy the outdoors. My favorite spot is laying on the porch or stretching out in the sun in the soft grass. I do need to work on my leash walking skills. I get excited and pull a little bit but I promise if you take me on walks to work on that. I would love to meet you and have a family to call my own Alton's adoption fee is $400. plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccines, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website. www.northernlakesrescue.org

Rooster: A Loving Giant with a Heart for his Humans! Meet Rooster, a 2-year-old pit rottie mix who's bursting with personality and love. This big boy, weighing in at a hefty 70 pounds, is a total sweetheart. Rooster is a happy-go-lucky dog with a hilarious sense of humor and a deep affection for his humans. One of Rooster's most endearing traits is his love for cuddles. He's always eager to snuggle up with his favorite people, whether it's on the couch or in bed. He's also well-behaved and crate-trained, making him a great addition to any household. While Rooster may be cautious with some new people at first, he quickly warms up and makes friends forever. He's an amazing companion for kids and adults alike and gets along wonderfully with cats and other dogs. Rooster would thrive in a family with kids and a large fenced yard where he can play and run with his canine siblings. Despite his impressive size, Rooster is a gentle giant with a submissive nature. Story
Timon is a lovable 2-year-old GSD/Pit Mix who is ready to find his forever home. This sweet boy was showing signs of resource guarding, and a history of being under socialized and not neutered. But with patience and care, Timon has made incredible progress! After spending some time in a loving foster home to decompress and undergo neutering, Timon has blossomed into a friendly, well-adjusted pup. He now lives happily with 7 foster dogs and 2 cats, getting along beautifully with everyone and showing no signs of aggression. While Timon can take a little time to warm up to new people-understandable given his past-he's a loyal and affectionate companion once he feels comfortable. Timon is crate trained, house trained (although he might do a little happy tinkle when excited), and he rarely barks. He's a calm, quiet presence in the home who loves being around his pack. Timon would thrive in a patient home where he can continue building trust and enjoying all the love he deserves. If you're looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will appreciate your patience and kindness, Timon may be the perfect fit for you!

Foster pupdate: Wednesday...Wednesday Highlight The puppies are showing more of their individual personalities every day and I'm not ashamed to admit I have a favorite, Wednesday Wednesday is Morticia's mini me, looks and personality! You can tell she's going to have big brown eyes that melt your heart and stare straight into your soul just like her momma She's the quietest of the bunch, yet not shy or reserved. Unlike the character she's named after, Nessi is a sweet, affectionate girl. She just wants to be held, smother you with kisses, and follow her mom around like a little minion. As an almost all black dog, I know she's the most likely to be overlooked But whoever recognizes how special she is will be ridiculously lucky to have her as their new family member ADOPTION LINKS IN OUR BIO!! PUPPIES WILL BE READY FOR THEIR HOMES ON NOV. 23RD Bailey and her four babies were picked up as a stray family and came into rescue with our partners at UCAPS. We are thankful for their foster Ali stepping up to open her heart and home to giving this little family the love and care needed until the pups are old enough to be adopted and momma Bailey can retire from motherhood. My name is Smokey Blu & listen, I really want a home. My people moved and left me in the back yard all by myself, I don't know why. A kind lady took me to her home to "cat test" me & I passed. Water and toys are REALLY fun as well. I also enjoy playing in the rain! Riding in a car is not problem and lots of fun. I'm currently dreaming of my forever home. I want a place to call home and a best friend to be with me for the rest of my life. I'm only 1.5 years old and have many more years left to see the world and dedicate all of myself to you. Story
Astra came to LLL sanctuary after having her babies in a local shelter. She was severely underweight and infested with fleas. She had given birth to 14 babies but sadly only five were strong enough to survive. The very harsh reality of rescue sometimes. If moms don't have the nutrition needed during their pregnancy then this is the outcome we see too often. Astra's pups have all been adopted and Astra is still waiting for the perfect family to come along and meet her! Astra has been blessed to be in a very loving foster home for over 100 days now. Astra has continued to blossom and has learned that she is safe and will never go hungry again! Astra is a little pint sized pittie weighting in just over 60 lbs. She is wonderful with kids. She is also house trained too. Can you help Astra's dreams come true? Her wish is simple. A family of her very own. Let Love Live rescues animals in Texas and many southern states. Hooch is a one-of-a-kind pup with a heart of gold. Don't be fooled by his initial "excited pitty wiggles" - this gentle giant instantly calms down and showers you with affection. Kids? Those are his JAM! He LOVES kids! He checks in on them and watches over them in the correct way. He absolutely loves other dogs. Hooch craves the ability to show his humans love and affection He loves his toys, car rides, and even joins in on your stretching routines (with a hilarious head tilt first). Hooch is already potty-trained, knows basic commands, and practices good manners (waiting for his food and walks). He's eager to please and mastering leash walking and recall.

Gianna is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves having all your attention. She enjoys snuggling up for a movie, taking naps, and receiving belly rubs. She gets along great with kids and everyone she encounters. Gianna is well-trained in her potty habits and crate behavior, and she responds well to basic commands. When it comes to meeting other dogs, she requires a little patience, as she is selective about her furry friends. Story
Bulldozer alert! Murphy has couch cuddles and kisses for days but leash manners have yet to be found. He takes commands like many of his breed do... as a suggestion... that is made more enticing with the offer of food. He is not hard of hearing although his lack of response will have you questioning that at times. He likes to meet new furry friends but doesn't engage with them much after that. He enjoys spending his time with the humans. Seeming to have a particular fondness for the adult males he knows. Murphy is a big strong man looking for a big strong friend. Murphy prefers to live with adults. Murphy has had no reaction to meeting the cat, is kennel trained, housebroken and available for adoption, Murphey's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care.
