We adopted Hermes from Ann Arbor humane society. He was born December 8 2023. He is about 8 months old. He a SUPER sweet guy. Lots of kisses and hugs. Knows his current name and can come when called. He has been through 2 dog training classes at pet smart. He graduated puppy training but failed intermediate due to us not working with him enough, not his fault! Husband lost his job and we had a baby. Between all the stress, we just adopted a dog before a storm hit our family and it's not fair to this sweet boy not to get the love, attention, and exercise he deserves and needs. He jumps on people a lot and tackles my 2 year old for kisses which she doesn't like and it's been hard to rid him of this habit. So he does get along with children but is just a little big and energetic so I would be cautious if you have super little ones like me.

Meet Ryen...he is a 3 year old male Blue nose American Pitbull in need of a new home. His previous owner told us he is very good with children and he is house trained. He is ok with other dogs, but we always recommend a meet and greet. He is crate trained. He will chew up beds, so he sleeps on mats instead. He is very smart. He knows sit, paw, lay, stay, and come. He is afraid of fireworks and loud thunder. He does not have very good cage behavior. He jumps and barks and seems agressive. He will bite at a leash in excitement. He has also been here for over 2 months which is hard on an animal. He gets out at least 2 times a day thanks to our volunteers. However, that leaves about 23 hours in a cage. Skylar is just about the best dog ever! She is calm, sweet and listens well. She lives to please you! She is good with other dogs and gentle enough to be with children. She is crate trained and good on a leash. Skylar came into rescue after being attacked by a much bigger dog in the home. After spending 4 days in doggy hospital, her owner did not want to take her back to an unsafe home. After a short stay in the county shelter, she finally found her way to FOCCAS rescue. It took awhile, but she has healed now. Her attack hasn't caused any lingering effects. She is a happy, grateful dog. Tank was rescued when his previous owner was unable to provide a safe life for him. That was a lucky break for Tank. The shelter had him heartworm tested while he was neutered and discovered he is suffering from heartworm disease due to being denied routine prevention. Tank will now require a several month long treatment once it's determined he is healthy enough to undergo the injections. They call me Exuberant, Handsome and Sweet but you can choose a new name for me when we adopt each other. I don’t care what you call me, as long as you call me. I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world. I’m a 4+ year old mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong. The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go. This is usually when they call me Exuberant. I like to have fun. I’m such a good boy and I have good potty manners. I prefer being inside with people at night especially. Since I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used. My foster peeps say I need a family, not a job. They know that I’m a quick learner and will be someone’s best dog ever. Because I’m big and young at heart, my new humans should have some experience with dogs and be able to work with someone of my stature. I promise I will try to do everything you ask enthusiastically. I don’t like loud booming noises (fireworks or dynamite) or gunfire but neither do most of my friends. Health wise, I am terrific; up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. Hello My name is venus I am just about to turn two years old. We know my mom was a full-blooded boxer and daddy was the traveling man. I was living with several brothers and sisters in a small kennel. The kind people at the rescue came and picked me up and I happy in my current foster home . I am good in the house and crate trained. If you want to play a little or just be couch potatoes , I am good with either. I ride in the car and am very good on a leash. I do best when playing with medium to large dogs, as all my current foster pals are medium or bigger. I have been waiting for some time now for my forever home. I may not be a cute puppy , but I am a solid friend that is through the puppy stages for sure! I am spayed, micro chipped up to date on all vaccinations.
