Story
Neville is a super friendly and sweet boy. After some play time his favorite thing to do is cuddle on the bed/couch. He does well with kids. He loves playing with toys, chasing balls, and cuddling with everyone. He's a quiet dog; he hardly ever makes noise, whether in the car or the kennel. He hasn't had any accidents and takes treats so gently. Currently working on manners but such a friendly guy!

Maize is still very fearful of everything, but she is such a lover once she trusts you. She was found in rouge park alone so im sure she endured some pretty scary things out there. She does the cutest zoomies when she is waiting for her food. She is very calm and wants to stay right by you at all times

Story
Introducing Ace, a remarkable dog who first arrived at FMAR as a stray with little training. Initially mouthy, jumpy, and unruly, Ace has undergone an incredible transformation thanks to the dedication of our staff and volunteers. He has blossomed into a well-mannered and loving companion, eager to share his affection with everyone he meets.Ace`s love knows no bounds—he adores humans of all sizes and genders, and his affection extends to his canine friends as well. His friendly demeanor makes him an excellent ambassador for our other dogs, helping to bring out their personalities and ease their anxieties. Ace thrives in social settings, excelling during pack walks and playgroups, where he enjoys romping around with his favorite furry companions. It didn’t take long for Ace to become a volunteer favorite. He is a regular attendee at our events, whether it’s a Halloween costume contest or a community stroll through downtown Belleville. With his striking black on white coat and dazzling smile, Ace captures the hearts of everyone around him. It truly baffles us that he is still waiting for his forever home, but we are more than happy to have him until he finds the perfect family.Ace would thrive in an active home with a securely fenced yard where he can run and explore. While we wouldn’t recommend him for homes with cats, he may adapt with proper introductions. Families with children aged 9 and older would be the best fit for his energetic personality. We’d love to see Ace welcomed into a home with another dog, as he truly enjoys their company. If you’re ready to welcome a loving and spirited companion into your life, Ace could be the perfect match for you! Come meet him today and discover the joy he can bring to your home.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you would like to meet Ace please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received.**Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really d

Story
I adopted Calypso from lucus county a little over a year ago, and now she is almost two years old. Ideally she should be with someone who has a decent daily routine set up already and someone who exercises or enjoys going on walks or runs with her. She is an amazing dog and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Shes not reactive to food, toys, kids, or other pets or people. She is very quirky, funny, sweet. She has some separation anxiety and has recently had a bit of a chewing problem, but she is usually very good. She's very excited and has high energy but will calm down once she is used to people or places.

Story
Is this dog good with kids? It's crucial that children are taught to respect dogs and understand a dog's body language. Is this dog house trained? Expect to house train a newly adopted dog. Some dogs will pick it up faster than others. Successful house training largely depends on patience and consistent encouragement. Most of the dogs that end up in shelters are mixed breeds that can have 2 to 10 different breeds in their DNA. The breed listed is only the best guess of the shelter volunteers. If interested in meeting any of our cats or dogs, stop in to meet them during our open hours. For location and hours, see our website at https://wacshelter.com To apply to adopt online go to https://wacshelter.com/adopt-a-dog/ ALL ANIMALS LISTED AS ADOPTABLE ARE AVAILABLE TO BE ADOPTED. *ADOPTION FEE: $95 (cash only) includes spay/neuter, distemper vaccine, heartworm test, and rabies vaccine.

Story
This is 4 year old Kane. He use to live in a motel with his family when they were evicted. Now, he is not able to do that. Kane is a very sweet boy that gets along with other dogs when properly introduced and is good with kids although he does like to jump. He has not been cat tested ,but just like my dogs and others, he can learn to like cats. Kane knows his basic commands and loves to play. But as you can tell from the pictures, he also loves to chill. He is in a temporary foster right now. Kane would love to find a foster to adopt or just be adopted so he can finally be home. Maybe you'd like to meet him?
