Ollie is a loving, playful, cuddle bug of a best friend. He’s an 8 year old pit/lab mix that has been in the care of his owner for 5 years. Ollie is good with cats and other dogs. Ollie is overall in good health! 2 years ago Ollie tore both rear ACLs but had TPLO surgery followed by 6 months of hydrotherapy physic therapy. He can do anything and everything a normal dog can. Ollie loves to be your best friend. He will often tag along as you roam around the house with a toy in his mouth and a wagging tail, just happy to be a part of your life.

Story
Meet Sara — Courtesy PostSara is a 74 lb mixed-breed dog who is ready for a fresh start in the right environment. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Sara knows basic commands, is house trained and will go in a crate. Sara has been non reactive to cats. Sara has gone home with volunteers, attended off-site events, participated in meet-and-greets, and spent time with various new faces — all without incident. She has shown she can be a loving, affectionate and engaging companion.Sara does have instances of resource guarding behaviors, and this is something her future adopter must be prepared to manage and continue working on. A professional trainer has worked with and evaluated Sara and determined that while this behavior is trainable and manageable, it is not something that can be adequately addressed in a shelter setting but should not hinder her being adopted.Sara is currently thriving in a foster home, where she has undergone through training and continues to work on her behavior with structure, consistency, and guidance. She is making progress, but she will need an adopter who understands resource guarding and is committed to ongoing management and training. She walks well on a leash, however a fenced yard would be ideal. What Sara Needs to Succeed• Adult-only home• Calm, structured environment• No other pets at this time so her training can remain the focus (although she is NOT dog reactive, she just needs to focus on her own needs at this time)• Commitment to continued behavioral work and clear boundariesSara is a staff and volunteer favorite. She is affectionate, intelligent, and capable — she simply needs the right match and continued support.Sara has so much potential and deserves a home that will give her the chance she needs to truly shine! If you are interested in adopting Sara, please complete an adoption application, and we will reach out to you right away to schedule an appointment. ** Note, Sara is in a foster home, she is not currently housed at MCAC ** Sara`s adoption fee is SPONSORED!

Story
Meet Badger! Badger is a super cute, black-and-white puppy with a perfectly placed white stripe up his forehead and the most charming half-black, half-white nose. At about 2 months old, this little guy is all puppy—curious, playful, and eager to explore the world around him.Badger came in with 10 of his siblings, so he’s used to being part of a busy, wiggly crew! Our best guess is that he’s a Pitty/Lab mix, though we can’t guarantee breed. Based on his size and puppy proportions, we estimate he’ll grow to be around 30 lbs or possibly bigger. What to know about Badger:Very curious and playfulLoves exploring and discovering new thingsWill need puppy obedience training and housebreaking (he’s just a baby!)Still learning manners and the worldBecause he’s young and energetic, supervision is recommended with young children and cats to help everyone succeed and stay safe.Badger is looking for a loving home ready for all the joys (and work!) that come with a puppy—training, patience, playtime, and lots of cuddles. Hooch is ready for a lifetime of comfort, companionship, and devotion, and he can’t wait to share it with a family of his own.
