Story
We adopted sweet Lila from our local shelter when she was only 8 weeks old. She has been a wonderful addition to our home and we are heartbroken about rehoming her. Recently, she and our existing dog have been fighting to the point that they are hurting each other. We have sought help from our veterinarian and trainer but have been unable to find a source of the issue. At this point, it has become clear that neither can live with the other and have a happy, healthy life. Lila has a lot of energy and is very playful! She is now nearly 2 years old (DOB: 1/15/23). She has gone through training and knows basic commands. Our trainer has indicated that she is eager to work and could be trained more intensely if desired. She loves snuggles and often forgets that she is 60lbs of solid muscle. We believe that she would do best in a home where she would be the only dog and could soak up all that affection. She has done well with our four kids, but should be kept away from cats or poultry.

Story
We bought Blue when he was five weeks old locally. We had only the German Shepard at the time and they got along very well. They grew together playing with each other never fighting. There was a time when Blue acted like he wanted to be mean to Chase (the German Shepard) but we were always there to redirect him and make sure he knew that behavior was not acceptable. He understands very well. In the housbeen me, my husband, our 22-year-old son, and frequent visits from our grandchildren and furbaby grands, two Frenchies. Blue grew up sleeping with our son and still does 90% of the time. He loves to play inside as well as outside. He barks at passers-by and other animals from the confines of our backyard. He barks when someone knocks at the door. In the community, he behaves well. No barking. Rides in cars and will sit and ride and sometimes stick his head out the window. We donknow why but he doest like grocery bags that move by themselves. Hes a really, REALLY good boy.

Story
Hey there, I’m Zero! My foster family gave me that name because they say I remind them of the dog from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was found wandering the streets of Louisiana and found myself scared and alone at a high-kill shelter. Luckily, Project Hope rescued me. I’ve made my way north and now I’m ready to find my forever family!I’m about 2 years old, weigh 45 pounds, and have short, fluffy black fur with some bronze mixed in. People say my deep brown eyes are pretty hard to resist. I’m probably a mix of a bully breed, Shar-Pei and Lab, but all I know is I’m 100% lovable and loyal. I live with my foster family in Saginaw, Michigan, and boy, is it a full house! There’s my foster mom, five human kids, two dog siblings (one’s a Great Dane, so she’s huge!), a cat and even a rabbit. I get along great with the other dogs, and I’m trying really hard to get used to the cat and the rabbit too. I also love every human I meet—big, small, young, old—I’m friends with everyone! When I’m not running zoomies in the backyard with the other dogs, I’m working on my training. I’ve already mastered “sit,” “here,” and “down,” and I’m learning more commands like “leave it” and “off.” My foster mom says I’m a quick learner, and with a little time and patience, I can do just about anything. Also, I’ll need a fully FENCED-IN YARD so I can run and play until my heart’s content! I love chewing on toys, especially horns, antlers, and stuffies, and I take treats gently. I sleep all night in my bed in my foster mom’s room without any accidents. I’m not a fan of getting on the furniture—no couches or human beds for me, thanks! I just like to be near you, whether it’s at your feet or next to your chair. I’m working on crate training, too. It’s not my favorite, but I’m getting better since I know my foster mom always comes back for me. Car rides make me a little nervous, but I’m improving there as well—I prefer hanging out in the back seat.   I’m a sweet, goofy and devoted pup who just wants to follow my people from room to room and be with them always. Could you be the one I’ve been waiting for? My adoption fee is $300, and I’m fully-vetted and microchipped. Questions about me? Email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. If you think we're a perfect match, fill out an adoption application at www.projecthoperescue.org.  I can’t wait to meet you!November 2, 2024, 10:53 pm

Story
Meet Kora, a 3 year-old Pitbull mix weighing in at 48 pounds. Kora’s story is one of resilience and pure love. When she was found as a stray, her severe allergies had left her without fur, her skin rough and crusted over. But thanks to her foster family and RPSM, Kora is slowly regaining her coat and her health, one step at a time. Despite everything she’s been through, Kora is a sweet, loving soul who adores people and gets along well with children and other dogs. She hasn’t been tested with cats. Kora is both house and crate trained, making her a well-behaved companion. Due to her allergies, she may need ongoing care such as medicated baths, allergy medicine, or a special diet—but that’s a small price to pay for the love and cuddles she has to offer. Kora’s journey to recovery may not be over, but her heart is already full and ready to share with her future family. Could that be you?  Submit your application today! Kora is spayed and UTD on all my vaccines, HW, FT, and has a microchip of her own. RPSM recommends children 6 years and older. Kora will require a fenced-in yard, either physical or underground. If you are interested in adopting Kora, please go to www.rpsm.org to fill out an application.  ##2163185##

Story
Hello, we are looking to re-home our puppy. He was born in February of 2024. He is a mix of lab and pit. He is not aggressive but does chew a lot. I previously was working from home, when I got him for the family, but now I work full-time in an office and he is a bit too strong for my wife to walk. He is mostly house trained but still has accidents. I have a pet bed, vest, leash and nail clippers I can send with him. He has had the opportunity to meet and play with other dogs and was not aggressive and played fine. He has not been around cats yet. The vet had recommended waiting until he was a year old before neutering him so we haven't done that yet.
