Dewey's a friendly 5-year-old pit bull that I adopted in December 2020. Since adopting him, he's been an affectionate, playful, and loyal best friend. He can be shy when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly. He loves to run around with other pups, and he's great with kids! He's been trained with an e-collar and responds to fundamental commands like sit, down, place, heel, and recall (come). Like many pandemic pups, he does have separation anxiety and some leash reactivity, though the latter is well controlled with the e-collar. We've worked with trainers on these issues and Dewey has come a long way since we adopted him. The ideal home for him would be with remote workers and another dog companion, providing plenty of space for him to run, play, and nap. He currently lives in New Market, MD. Note for the adopter: I will cover costs for his food and any incidental vet visits for the first 3 months. I am rehoming Dewey due to a breakup and job loss; he deserves a great home!

Sadie is a super smart girl with a lot of energy. She is always ready to play and cuddle with you. She is house trained and knows basic commands; sit, stay, come, stop, down, lay down, roll over, turn around, etc. She is a bit weary of new things so it’s best to let her warm up to you. She has been boarded with pet sitters and done great. She’s been boarded with sitters with other dogs and has done well. Sadie would be great in an environment without any cats, and if there are other dogs in the house it is better if they are her size or close. She does not like small dogs/animals.

Poor Trinity found herself on BCAS final call list. Her story is awful. She was a young active girl who broke her leg jumping. Her family didn't change her bandages and her leg became necrotic. She was surrendered to the county who immediately amputated her leg. Since then she's healed and returned to her normal happy, loving self. She loves to snuggle and play with toys. If you ave room in your heart for a healthy tripod, she's your girl. Trinity prefers all the attention and is best as a single family pet.

Easy was unfortunately returned to the rescue. This is Easy's updated bio as of 1/2025: Easy is a 60lb pit mix and about 3 years old. Loves to snuggle on the couch under blankets with her people. She loves to play in the yard with her indestructible ball and chew on hard fill bones, antlers, nylabones. She is house trained, knows most basic commands and responds well using an e-collar for training purposes. Loves sunning herself in the yard/on deck. Great with people. She is very food driven. She is crate trained (knows “crate” command). She sleeps and eats in her crate and also is in crate when people are not home. Easy needs to be the only pet in the home. ------- Original bio Age: 4 months as of 6/3 Size: ~ 25 lbs as of 6/3 Estimated breed: Pit bull mix Update from my foster 6/5: She is doing really well! She slept well in the crate overnight and went potty outside in the morning. She is very sweet, she and my resident dog get along well. She does bark at the cat, but doesn't try to chase her (what she really wants is the cat's food)! Little Easy was found by one of our amazing shelter partners behind an EZ--Spot gas station in South Carolina. It turns out her owner left her there on purpose, and after some convincing the owner agreed to surrender her to us so we could find her a perfect forever home. Easy's stomach was full of worms and garbage. Who knows how long this poor girl had to survive off of only trash, but we do know she will never be that hungry again! As of 6/3, Easy is 4 months old and around 25 lbs. Despite everything she's been through, she's a happy-go-lucky girl! She has tested well with other dogs, people, and cats. Easy is looking for a forever home with the time, patience, and love to train her into the very best girl she can be.
