Story
This sweet boy was loose and found his way into my daughters yard. It was a very hot day and he was dehydrated and in bad shape. She took him to the house, gave him water, kept him in the house to cool down got him some dog food walked him around the block several times put up posters, and pictures in the neighborhood asking if anyone had lost him. After three weeks, shes had no response. Now living with me until forever home is found, because my daughter has two cats. Please know Beaux was fine with the cats, but they were not happy . Beaux is affectionate and sweet natured. Crate trained, can sit, stay, lie down, and give his paw. He gets on quite well with my small 15 £ 16-year-old dog. Beaux is a sweet smart boy, but is just too big for me to handle as I am 74 years old. He is learning loose leash walking. He learns really fast ..

Story
I adopted Otis from LASPCA in august 2023. He will be two in early December. Hes incredibly sweet and affectionate, loves to cuddle and go for walks. He is very well crate trained (loves his kennel), potty trained, great command on the leash during walks, and improving with off leash walks as well. He is great with people and other dogs. I wish I could keep him, but my work schedule keeps me away from him for too long. I want to find the right person to hand him off to and ensure he remains in good care.

Groot is a sure lover! He is playful and snuggly! He mostly loves being with his best friend, Sassy, who is also up for adoption. They are great house dogs and love to lay around and watch tv with their owners but also go to the dog park and meet new friends! Both are around 5 years old and completely house trained. They would prefer to go together to a new wonderful home to love on their new humans!

Story
Yeobright, the alligator survivor, is looking for a forever home! This brave girl came to us with a few souvenirs from her encounter with a local reptile.🐊 In early August, a concerned resident called about a brown dog standing in a canal. She was seemingly frozen, and refused to swim or move. Upon closer inspection, there was an alligator in the same canal just a few feet away! Springing into action, the concerned resident became her hero and carried her out of the water. Thankfully, the kind human was not injured but YB was not so lucky and was bitten on her leg, now flaunting a pretty epic scar. Nonetheless, Yeobright's spirit remains as vibrant and individual as her name, showing no signs of distrust and all signs of affection! She truly is the sweetest, softest girl you'll ever meet. She loves to socialize and makes the perfect companion for any excursion, but may collapse belly-up on top of you at any time to ensure she has your undivided attention. What more could you need?

Story
Meet Carol, the lovable and easygoing canine companion you've been searching for! At 5 years old, Carol is in her prime, and she's looking for a forever home where she can enjoy the finer things in life, like lounging by the pool and savoring delicious treats.A Relaxation Expert: Carol is the epitome of a laid-back dog. She prefers leisurely strolls to intense hikes, and her idea of a perfect day involves lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun's warmth, and dipping her paws into the cool water. If you have a pool or are considering getting one, Carol is your perfect poolside partner.Treat Aficionado: Carol has a bit of a sweet tooth—or should we say, a sweet paw? She adores treats and can be easily won over with a tasty snack. This makes her an ideal candidate for a training partner; she's eager to learn and motivated by her love for treats.Solo Star: Carol thrives as the center of attention. She would do best as the only pet in the household, where she can have all your love and affection to herself. This lovely lady deserves to shine brightly in her forever home, and she's more than ready for her chance to do just that.A Long Wait: Carol has been patiently waiting for her forever family for three long years at the shelter. It's time for her to experience the love, care, and security that only a forever home can provide. She has so much love to give and is ready to share it with the right person or family.Give Carol a Chance: Carol's heart is full of love, and all she needs now is someone who can give her a chance. If you're ready to open your heart to a sweet, low-energy, and snuggly companion, Carol is waiting to meet you. Don't let her wait any longer—come meet Carol today and give her the loving forever home she so richly deserves. Together, you can make the next chapter of her life the best one yet.My adoption fee is normally $250.This includes a spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, deworming, a microchip, a heartworm test, and, if needed, heartworm treatment.________________________________________________________________________________________________If you would like to meet one of our adoptables or learn more about them, please submit an application at https://animalrescueneworleans.org/adoptfoster/.**Note: Our shelter is open by scheduled appointment with an approved application. Story
My name is Mary Lou, but I think Miracle might be a better name for me. You see I was in terrible shape, starving and emaciated when I tried to cross the I10 at the Louisiana/Mississippi border when I tried to cross and was hit by a car. Angels came to my rescue who got me in a truck and started on a mission to save me. ARNO hospitalized me and now I am in a foster home. My foster mom has been taking care of me as I feel better and better. This is what she had to say:Mary Lou is such a loving and affectionate dog, definitely wants your attention and will give the kisses. If you stop petting her, she will lean into you for more pets. She is very smart and knows several commands. She can sit for a treat even though I don’t make her because she is still unsteady due to her surgery. She patiently waits at the opened back door until I give her permission to come in (must have learned from her previous owner), she knows the command for kennel, and does not beg when humans are eating. She appears to be potty trained now that I have been letting her lay in my office when I’m working from home in the day. She is a sweet dog and looking for a home that will give all the loving she deserves. Please consider giving this sweet girl the chance she needs at the good life. Story
Grady was surrendered to a shelter in March of 2024 due to his owner being incarcerated and no one in the family could take him. We didn't know much about him, but it was apparent that he'd had a tough life. I began fostering him in May and fell in love with him instantly. We finally found an adopter in mid-August, but unfortunately due to no fault of his own he was returned after a week. He's been back with me in foster care since then, but since my home has 3 resident cats, it's not been the ideal home for him. He was very stressed during the time he spent in the shelter and we don't think he would do well if returned. Grady is a great dog, and would love to be someone's Netflix buddy aka couch potato. Foster care has allowed us to learn so much about him and his personality now shines. He loves lounging in the sun, rotisserie chicken, and head massages. Grady would love and thrive in a home with adults, older kids, and dogs...just no cats.

Story
My name is Coco. I am a 4 year old boxer mix who would love to meet you.I only weigh 48 lbs, but ARNO has fattened me up. I was found dragging a chain behind me and a sad past, but you would never know it. I am a happy and playful girl. I appreciate every little thing as I get to know the good life in foster, but I would love a home of my own. My foster says I am good with everyone and everything. I will spend the rest of my life thanking you! NOTE! Please read the last paragraph to learn how to apply to Adopt or to Foster Grady! Well, look who is ready and waiting for Adoption OR a Foster Home! It is GRADY, the Boxer mix we recently rescued. He has turned out to be THE best boy and is loved by everyone that meets him...well, except for cats...they don't like him much. Grady has been fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and tested Negative for heartworms!! He came to us at about 62 pounds, but he is still thin. We believe he is approximately 2 years old, probably less. He sometimes still urinates like a puppy and he's so curious about Everything... sneaks up on anything unfamiliar. It's so cute to watch! Grady is house-trained and he knows 'sit.' He takes treats very gently from your hand and will give you big kisses in return. He's playful, but will chill with you on the couch, too. Grady is good with other dogs and children; but NOT good with cats. He's an all-around great dog and has many years ahead to fill your life with love and fun! Please apply to Foster OR Adopt him by completing the online application you will find near his photos on our website, www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org !
