Story
This young gentleman is Bronco. He is a 1-year-old Pitbull terrier mix that I adopted from KC Pet Project about 6 months ago. He is an energetic fun-loving pup. He loves to meet people and dogs alike. Everyone that meets him falls in love as he is a very sweet boy. He wants to be everyone's best friend. He loves to hang out outside whether it is sitting on the deck, hanging out at the market, or running around the dog park. I would recommend that Broncos new home have a fenced in backyard. Bronco knows the basics of obedience with sit, place, and recall commands. He doesn't like being closed in his crate but enjoys it while it's open. I have to find Bronco a new home as I will be taking a new job with longer hours that won't allow me to care for Bronco like he should be. He will come with a large crate, his "place" (dog training cot), some toys, and a bag of food to get you started. He is a sweet boy that deserves to go to a home where he will not be couped up all day.

Meet Yellowstone! He was found tied to the Osawatomie pound gate and was never reclaimed. He's a pretty energetic guy who loves exploring the outdoors and going for walks. He's the happiest boy you could ever meet! He loves his toys and loves to snuggle. He would love a home with kids but is just happy to be with you and be loved. He's super sweet and gentle. He is looking for his furever home. Is that you?

Story
Meet Luna! We rescued her nearly 6 years ago back in 2018, she was one of the first dogs we ever saved. She got bounced around to a few homes, but has now been waiting in our shelter for 2 years straight with no foster or adopter home yet. Luna has now grown into a senior dog in our care. She is extremely gentle and calm, all she wants is to cuddle and snuggle all day long. She is very well behaved and acts like a sweet baby. She has some very good dog friends at the shelter, although we don't know how she is with cats. She has seasonal allergies and is also allergic to chicken, so she gets special allergy injections and a very careful diet otherwise she turns very red and terribly itchy. Due to a lifetime battle with severe allergies, Luna really dislikes vets and needs an adopter who understands she needs special vet and medical care. Please be the hero this girl needs, she shouldn't have to wait any longer for a home.

Story
Meet Hercules! This sweet boy was once used for back yard breeding his entire young life. One day he escaped along with his mate and they were put on the euthanasia list. After almost a year with us, Hercules finally found an adopter where he lived the dream life he'd never had. Unfortunately, after a few months he was returned due to a change in their family dynamic. At first he was so nervous and scared and had no clue why he lost his home again. Hercules doesn't understand and we don't know how to tell him it's not because he isn't wonderful and sweet and worth the extra work, it just wasn't a right fit. Hercules needs a home with a dog-smart adopter. He previously had a long year of waiting, and now he is waiting again but we promise with all our heart he is worth it. Hercules lives up to his name, he is strong but his heart is pure. He is loving and kind and will protect you from all bugs (as chasing them is his favorite past time), he will make sure you are never bored and never without snuggles. He will do absolutely anything for his red rocket toys, they are his favorite thing in the world. He is working hard to make new doggie friends and has actually done super well with Butterball, a female pitty. Hercules can sometimes be slow to warm up to men. However for a while, he was very bonded to a male volunteer who even took him on a week-long semi truck tour across the state! He did so great and loved the personal attention. He is a true explorer, loves the wilderness and going on walks, he will pause to listen to the nature and take in the sights.

Story
Meet Legacy! We rescued this girl from a death sentence over 3 years ago. A kill shelter wanted to put her down until another rescue saved her, but then they abandoned her in the middle of her transport out of the shelter and offered her up for euthanasia also. Terrified and confused, Legacy came into our care instead. In the past 3+ years, we have fallen deeply in love with Legacy and see her life's worth every day. We don't know all her traumas, but we are here to love her just the way she is nonetheless. Legacy does not like other dogs at all and needs a home where she can be safe and never encounter another pup or animal. It's not easy being abandoned and treated so horribly by humans, and despite all the love we have given her these past 3 years, Legacy can still take time to warm up to new people. Legacy needs time to know she is going to be okay, because life is very scary sometimes and she has had a very rough upbringing. She is a happy, loving, protective, and committed dog, and will be all the love you ever need. She is phenomenal in the car and loves to go on rides. Walks are also one of her favorite things on the planet. Need a cuddle buddy? This potato will have no complaints filling that space on your couch. She also loves to play chase and tug-of-war. As beautiful as she is on the outside, she has scars-both physical and those unseen. She is pretty easily won over with some mozzarella sticks, but a deep bond takes time, and once she trusts you with her whole self, watch out, because this is 65 lbs of pure love. You can see it shine in her eyes, just this deep, complete love. She is not overly hyper. She is not good with dogs, cats, small children, or vacuums. She had a foster for a long time, who loved her deeply but eventually couldn't keep rotating her own dogs with Legacy's need to be the only pup. They said Legacy was fiercely loyal, a total sweetheart, and a good protector. Legacy's life matters, she deserves a chance to be loved, please consider loving her like we do.
