Story
Meet Norah she was rescued from a high intake Texas shelter. She was scheduled to be euthanized. She is 5-6 years of age, vet checked and in good health, spayed,  heartworm negative and microchipped. She needs a foster home or an adopter.  Norah loves all people, she is well behaved, can be energetic at times but mostly calm when other dogs are not around. She loves to play fetch outside, however in the house she is a couch potato. She is housetrained.   She must have a fenced in yard, and would do best in a home where someone is home more. Although she is good with children, she must go to a home with older children. No other dogs in the home is preferred. Adoption fee is $100. If you foster we will provide all of her food, monthly prevention etc. She will remain for adoption however.  Please put your application in at www.indianasaveadog.com  ##2227004##

Story
I was rescued from a high intake Texas shelter recently. I was scheduled to be euthanized. I am around 3 years of age.  One month ago, my prognosis was poor; I was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis. My rescue was told to keep me comfortable and find a palliative care or hospice foster. I am Missy, a dog that "works through the pain”. I push through physical discomfort because my strong bond with people motivates me . The affection I feel for a human companion; and my love for people outweighs my physical pain. My life is ALMOST full. I am looking for a lifetime of love to share.... with my OWN person. Could that be you? Missy is a happy, loveable dog and she still gets around well. Surgery is not an option, her knees would also need surgery along with her hips. The pain she would incur with multiple surgeries done at different times was not recommended by our vet. The plan is to keep her on anti-inflammatories, pain meds, and Glucosamine and Chondroitin right now.  We are hoping we will be able to find a foster who can give her the loving care that she never ever had. A quiet home where she can take short walks, sun bathe in the back yard ( she loves that ) , lay on a cozy bed and cuddle with her foster. We are glad we rescued her so that she can experience love and care she has never had in her life. As long as she has a good quality of life we will not euthanize. It's hard to know when that time will come. It could be years or months from now. If you can not be her foster for her lifetime, that's okay. Please just give us time to find another. Missy is a sweet pittie that loves belly rubs. She is a couch potato. She is calm and well behaved, however she also loves to play outside. She is housetrained. She gets along well with low key submissive dogs, however because of her condition we are looking for a home with no other animals. She can free roam without getting into things. We will provide all of her medications , food and anything else that she needs. You provide the love. She must have a fenced in yard, and would do best in a home where someone is home more. Although she is good with children, she must go to a home with older children. No other dogs in the home is preferred. . Please put your application in at www.indianasaveadog.com  ##2227109##

Story
Honey is a 4 year old pitbull mix. We believe she is mixed with a redbone coonhound or another hunting dog that is similar. She is spayed and up to date on her rabies and 4-in-1 vaccine. She is house trained and crate trained. She can also be left out in the house. She loves people and kids, but can be excitable and jump up. She would do best as an only dog in the home. She can be fine with other dogs, but will turn on them if they growl at her. She is fine with cats, but is allergic to them and would need an allergy shot every few months. She will pull on the leash, but can he corrected if you are firm with her. She has a high prey drive and will bark/ chase squirrels. However, she has been fine with rodents in the home such as ferrets. She has a hound dog- like howl sometimes.

Story
Meet Charlee!   Charlee is about 5.5 months old, currently weighs in at 24 pounds and is an American Pitbull Terrier – Cattle Dog mix. Charllee came to us as an owner surrender after her owner had a change in life circumstances. She previously lived with kids, cats and other dogs. Dogs need to be her size or larger.  NO CHICKENS OR BIRDS in her new home! She has a prey drive for them.   Charlee is a sweet and loving girl, but is shy and timid. She will benefit greatly from puppy training classes, to help her be a confident adult dog. We do have contacts of local trainers to direct you to, if adopting close to our area!   She is working on getting potty training down, so will need kept on a routine/schedule to help her get there all the way!   Spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention.   Friendly reminder: Puppies are A LOT of work and cost $$!! Pups will need help with house & potty training, socialization and obedience training!! And a family to care for them for the next 12+ years! An adorable puppy now, but require ALOT of your time. They need correct raising and training to be the best adult dogs they can be!!    Interested in adopting? APPLY HERE: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog to fill out an application.  ** Application and appointment required for adoption! A meet & greet is required with any other dogs living in the home.    “You may think that the biggest problem you'll have with a new puppy is being overwhelmed by all the cute. And in a way, that is your biggest challenge. You have to get past all the fluffy, floppy, big-eyed, clumsy cuteness to create and enforce rules and training that create a happy, balanced dog when all that puppy cuteness fades away. Many dogs that hit the "teenage" stage at about a year old end up in shelters because the owners didn't realize how much attention, exercise, training and patience a puppy would require, especially as that ball of fluff grows into a bigger, stronger dog.” -Jaymi Heimbach   Closed Sunday/Thursday  11-5 Tuesday/Friday  11-6 Wednesday 11-4 Monday/Saturday ##2256860##
