Story
Winnie is a beautiful pitty girl looking for a particular home. She came to us after being found living in an abandoned van in a junkyard. She was thin and not in the best shape after fending for herself on the streets, She was under-socialized and unsure about people. We were not sure if she would be adoptable. After many weeks working with Winnie, she had her favorite people she was eager to please, but still struggled with more than one human at a time, and showed some nervous behaviors. After consulting with our vet, we decided to try Prozac, which has worked wonders for our Winnie girl! Winnie would do best in a home with an owner who is educated about the stigma pit bulls face in society, and who can make sure she has a spot in their home and family for her entire life anyways. She would prefer an adult only home, without other animals, that is willing to make her the “kiddo” of the family. Winnie does not seem to be a big fan of children and we will not adopt her into a home with children of any any age or regular kiddo visitors. She will need continued training and to stay on Prozac or to consult with your own vet about alternative anxiety medications that can help her continue to live her best life. Winnie loves walks in the world, creek stomping, car rides, snuffle mats, and things she can chew. She has done well here going outside if let out on regular schedule and doesn’t destroy her furniture in her room. She will destroy stuffies and sissy toys with glee. Winnie is looking for a human who wants a loyal best friend that doesn’t have a perfect past, but is committed to a beautiful forever.

Story
Simba is a 4 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. We pulled him from the shelter two years ago after he was hit by a car, but found his family and reunited them. Unfortunately, he was found as a stray again and in rough shape, so we decided it’s time for him to find a safe home for forever. He likes other dogs, and has lived with dogs that are both large and small. He also has lived with children of all ages, including infants and kids who may not have the best dog manners. Simba requires a low-fat diet, and we have him on GI food. He does ok with occasional regular treats - but his main diet must remain low-fat in order for him to stay healthy. He is very housebroken, has lived in a home before, and is crate trained. He does not like surprise strangers inside his yard or home, and does best when he knows a new friend is present with an introduction. He is extremely treat motivated and favorite treats should be kept somewhere he can’t reach them. He loves stuffies and good runs. Because romps during his outside time are his favorite, and he likes to guard his yard from birds and burglars, he will need a securely fenced yard. We’d be open to a dog experienced family that has alternative plan with lots of exercise if it’s a great fit. Simba is one of our favorite dogs.

Story
Luka is a happy, beautiful and lovable young dog. Are you looking for a dog that would easily be trained? Luka is very attentive to training and highly food motivated. Due to being young, he does have a lot of energy but once that is managed Luka is happy, affectionate, and wants to please. Because Luka is young and still learning his manners he would be best in a household without small children. Luka is just a homebody of dog who is most comfortable lounging around the house and not being a social butterfly. He would love to be someone's ride or die and would be the goodest and most loyal boy. Luka is a wonderful doggo, who is young and still learning to DOG and in need of a patient person to unleash his full potential. His favorite foods consist of just about anything, but especially peanut butter biscuits. As he continues to get older, he becomes more and more willing to please. Luka arrived at the shelter with a leg injury but after months of splints, he is medically cleared for full activity! He can be dog selective, therefore slow introductions and meet and greets would be necessary. A dog that matches his play style would be best. Are you Luka's ride or die? If interested, please fill out an adoption application on our website, sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org **Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy.

Story
Coop is a very handsome guy with the perfect head tilt to melt your heart. He is a happy, goofy guy who hasn't had the best start in life. He loves people but we recommend a house with older or no children. His favorite past time is playing with stuffed toys that squeak, car rides, balls (for life), and playing outside. Coop's favorite past times are to stare lovingly into your eyes until you throw the ball. He loves to be silly and play but is also a very good cuddler. Coop would prefer to be your one and only pet, but has potential to be around very docile and tolerant other dogs with slow introductions. Coop is very athletic and can play ball as long as you can. He would do well with a large fenced in back yard for maximum running capacity. Coop requires (no exceptions): *No cats - high prey drive *A yard with a physical fence that is at least 5 feet tall *A home with very limited or no time in a crate *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis.

Story
June is a very loyal princess who deserves her own thrown, I mean home. She is a very social puppy with people and other dogs. Like most puppies, she is very playful and full of energy. Due to being young, we prefer that coco Bean is adopted within a household with other dogs. However, if that isn't a current option, we would require a socialization plan. June has a rough and tumble play style and would need another dog in the home that could match that for her as she brings the smackdown to the ring. June is very food motivated and athletic so would do well with someone who would like to continue her work on being the best girl ever. Would need a 6ft fence as she is capable already of winning the gold in high jump. She is independent but settles down for snuggles once playtime is over. Do you want to be the one to show June what it is like to be a spoiled girl? *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis.

Story
Pax is 1- to 2-year-old neutered male bully breed. He weighs about 55 lbs (should probably be closer to 60 lbs). He was adopted from shelter 8/26/24. His history was unknown. He was found tied to tree. He spent almost 2 months at shelter. He was neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped there. We have two existing adult dogs that Pax was brought into. We attempted to integrate our dogs with Pax very slowly and individually. Unfortunately, there has been aggression from Pax to our existing dogs on separate occasions. He would be best most likely in an only dog household. It is unknown how he would act with cats or small children. With all the above said, he is a smart, sweet, loving, playful and inquisitive dog with many amazing qualities. He loves to be around people and snuggle. He loves to have ‘zoomies’ and run around like a little nut. He is housetrained and gets fed in his kennel. He is a good walker without pulling much with harness. He will only go to a home that will love him.

Story
Ashton has been on quite a journey, and through it all, he’s kept his gentle heart. With every challenge he’s faced, he’s remained the sweetest, most loyal companion. Despite everything, Ashton still loves a good cuddle, melting into his favorite people for comfort and closeness. He’s living proof of resilience, with a spirit as strong as it is loving.Found as a stray in May of 2022, Ashton was adopted in early 2023, where he won everyone over with his affectionate nature. Known to be a bit of an escape artist, he’s been on quite a few adventures. Recently, Ashton found his way back to us and is ready for a new start with a family who can give him all the stability and care he deserves. He’s eager to settle down, enjoy life’s simpler pleasures, and finally find his forever place.Ashton’s ideal home is one with children 13 or older, where everyone can understand and respect his needs. He’s looking for a cat-free environment with people ready to provide a structured, loving home, and most importantly, the kind of commitment he’s always given to others. Ashton is loyal to his core and is looking for someone who sees the special dog he is—a pup who’s been through it all and still chooses to love.If you’re ready for a loyal friend who gives endless love in return, Ashton can’t wait to meet you.

Zeus` Compatibility:Dogs - Meet & GreetCat Test - Passed!Kids - Prefers grown-upsTalk about bad luck. Zeus just can`t seem to catch a break, no matter how hard he tries. Despite his troubles, he`s a gem of a dog with a heart full of longing for a place to call home. So far, his journey has been marred by hardship, leaving him with a lingering fear of men that casts a shadow over his gentle soul. He`s ready to find a loving family who will give him the patience and care he deserves.According to his previous owner, Zeus has lived with both cats and dogs. Zeus appears to thrive with a consistent routine, and with your guidance, he should settle into perfect bathroom habits. He`s eager to learn and impress you with his good manners. Story
Big Mama came to us during a large hoarding case, where we took in 20+ animals. We called her Big Mama, as it was thought she was pregnant, and fed her as such. Turns out, she was NOT pregnant, and had to lose some weight. Over time she has been on a low calorie (supplemented with green beans) diet, exercise, and has lost a lot of weight! She is a stout, friendly, happy girl. She loves everyone, toys, walks, and being next to you. She also loves her crate! Is housetrained when she is able to go out often. Owners would have to stick to her diet and exercise to make her most comfortable.
