Story
Hey there, I’m Zero! My foster family gave me that name because they say I remind them of the dog from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was found wandering the streets of Louisiana and found myself scared and alone at a high-kill shelter. Luckily, Project Hope rescued me. I’ve made my way north and now I’m ready to find my forever family!I’m about 2 years old, weigh 45 pounds, and have short, fluffy black fur with some bronze mixed in. People say my deep brown eyes are pretty hard to resist. I’m probably a mix of a bully breed, Shar-Pei and Lab, but all I know is I’m 100% lovable and loyal. I live with my foster family in Saginaw, Michigan, and boy, is it a full house! There’s my foster mom, five human kids, two dog siblings (one’s a Great Dane, so she’s huge!), a cat and even a rabbit. I get along great with the other dogs, and I’m trying really hard to get used to the cat and the rabbit too. I also love every human I meet—big, small, young, old—I’m friends with everyone! When I’m not running zoomies in the backyard with the other dogs, I’m working on my training. I’ve already mastered “sit,” “here,” and “down,” and I’m learning more commands like “leave it” and “off.” My foster mom says I’m a quick learner, and with a little time and patience, I can do just about anything. Also, I’ll need a fully FENCED-IN YARD so I can run and play until my heart’s content! I love chewing on toys, especially horns, antlers, and stuffies, and I take treats gently. I sleep all night in my bed in my foster mom’s room without any accidents. I’m not a fan of getting on the furniture—no couches or human beds for me, thanks! I just like to be near you, whether it’s at your feet or next to your chair. I’m working on crate training, too. It’s not my favorite, but I’m getting better since I know my foster mom always comes back for me. Car rides make me a little nervous, but I’m improving there as well—I prefer hanging out in the back seat.   I’m a sweet, goofy and devoted pup who just wants to follow my people from room to room and be with them always. Could you be the one I’ve been waiting for? My adoption fee is $300, and I’m fully-vetted and microchipped. Questions about me? Email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. If you think we're a perfect match, fill out an adoption application at www.projecthoperescue.org.  I can’t wait to meet you!December 14, 2024, 9:09 pm

Story
Meet Sherman, my most recent foster dog from St. Joseph County Animal Control. Sherman is a 65 lb., 2-year-old Pit/Hound mix that is looking for his furever home. He will be entering Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan training for 10 weeks on March 21st and then will be ready to go to his furever home on May 30th. He's up to date on shots and was recently neutered. He's house-trained, has good house manners and plays well with other dogs. He knows sit, wait and is crate trained. He walks great on a harness but tends to pull on a regular leash, the trainers will work on that while he's in the 10-week program. He loves car rides, chew bones, belly and butt scratches and as much as he loves to run and romp he also loves to cuddle and relax. He's treat motivated and very interested in everything happening around him. He plays very well with the other dogs and loves kids but because of his size would be better around older children, 8 years and older. He loves outdoor adventures or just sitting in the sun but is quick to curl up with a toy on his bed. He is a gentleman and a scholar, working hard to please his people and he seems happiest when he is with his people learning and playing. If you're interested in adopting this guy, submit your application today! If approved to adopt Sherman, you will receive his weekly reports until he is ready to come home with you. Sherman is neutered and UTD on all their vaccines, HW, FT, and have a microchip of their own. RPSM recommends children 8 years and older.  Sherman will require a fenced in yard, either physical or underground. If you are interested in adopting Sherman please go to www.rpsm.org to fill out an application. Sherman’s adoption fee is $300. ##2324394##
