Huey is an extremely handsome pit bull/lab mix. He was found in a hoarding situation with 26 other animals. He came to the shelter extremely thin and scared. He was so shy and shut down that he wouldn't come out of his run for months. He needs love, patience, and a quiet home that will allow him to slowly build trust. He was pretty broken when he came to us and it took him a long time to come out of his shell. He is scared of new people and new situations so he needs someone that will take their time getting to know him, and give him the space he needs to get comfortable and build trust. We pulled Levi from Animal Control because he had a horrible case of mange that left his skin scabbed, cracked, irritated, and itchy. Animal Control is no place for a dog that felt as miserable as Levi did. He earned his name because his mangey blue-brindle coat reminded me of a pair of dirty jeans. Levi was so great for his baths....he sat patiently while Heidi soaked and softened his thick, scaly skin until the scabs finally came off. Now that the mange is gone, his fur is slowly but surely growing back in. And he is feeling great!!! He loves playing off leash in the barn with his favorite Chuck-it ball, and enjoys going for walks on sunny days. He's going to make a great companion for someone looking for a large, cuddly dog. I recused her after she was thrown out of a car with a rope around her neck. She has become famous on social media and the news. I recently got a full time job and now and not home with her all day and she is crated. She has started acting out from being crated all day. I have 2 kids so I am unable to give her the time she needs she when I get home from work. She’s very loving and playful. She is reactive and protective but NOT aggressive. I don’t know how she is with other dogs. She’s fully trained and understands commands.

Abby is a trooper. This little girl has been through so much in the last year. She had struggled so much when she was in the shelter (if you are part of our social media community, you may recognize her) and we were all so excited for her when she was adopted last Christmas. Unfortunately, her amazing adopter did not know that he was sick at the time and recently passed away. Abby has been grieving the loss of her best friend, but has landed in a loving foster home. We are getting to know who Abby is all over again, and she is showing just how sweet we knew she was. Abby is looking for a low-key home who will remind her just how special she is every day.
