Story
Hi I'm Peaches and I'm looking for my forever home! I came to PCH the middle of November with my 7 week old babies! They are all grown now and finding homes so now I would like to find my own!! I was pretty timid when I came to my foster home but now I know all my foster siblings and I have a great time playing with them! I am already house trained and am allowed to free room because they say I'm the perfect house guest! I know sit for a treat after potty time but I'm ready to learn new things . I would love to go for walks and adventures. I have a fenced yard now so I can do a lot of running and playing! I also like settling in with you for a good cuddle! Does that sound like I could be your girl!! Adoption fee is $299. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Story
Hi there, future family! My name is Niko, and I'm an 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix with a whole lot of love and energy to share. I weigh about 65 pounds, and I'm as cute as can be! Let me tell you a bit about myself and why I might just be the perfect addition to your home. I'm a well-mannered boy who's housetrained—I even go to the door to let you know when it's time for a potty break. I'm great in my crate, which makes things a lot easier for you when you need some downtime. Exercise is super important to me. I love running around in the house or yard with my doggy pals and going on walks. I'm quite the active guy, and playtime is my favorite time! I get along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats. I think cats are fascinating, though sometimes they give me a little smack when I get too curious, and then I just walk away. I'm also a people-lover, but due to my energy and playful nature, I’d do best in a home with kids over 12. Some of my favorite things include toys, fetch, tug of war, bones, car rides, and cuddles. I'm a smart cookie too—I already know "sit" and "paw." My foster mom says I'm friendly, outgoing, confident, happy, playful, and loyal. I’m looking for a home with a fenced yard because I love running and playing outside, and I prefer not to do my business on a leash or tie-out. My ideal home would have a doggy playmate. I adore my new canine foster brother, who is a 30-pound puppy. I play gently with him, whether it's tug of war or chasing him around the yard. I’m also super affectionate. I love greeting my foster family with licks and cuddles, and I no longer jump on people or furniture. I do need plenty of exercise and stimulation, or I might chew on things I shouldn't. But with the right amount of play and love, I promise to be your sweetest and most loyal companion. Are you ready to be my forever family? With love and licks, Niko His minimum adoption fee is $95 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Arnold, the 4 year-old, 64 pound, energetic and loving Pit bull pup who's ready to find his forever home! Arnold is a charming and lively dog who appears to be potty trained, always keeping his run clean. While he's not a fan of the crate and can be quite vocal (making him better suited for homes without shared walls), he absolutely thrives when he's with his people. Whether it's hanging out in the house, going for walks, or playing with toys, Arnold loves activities that keep his mind and body active. This sweet boy has been wonderful with every adult he's met, showing off his friendly, outgoing, and confident personality. However, due to his high energy levels and need for some obedience training (like learning to keep his paws on the ground), we believe Arnold will do best in an adult-only home. His enthusiasm and strength might unintentionally knock over smaller children, so a home without kids is ideal. Arnold enjoys a good chew on a bone and loves nothing more than cuddling up in his person's lap. He's already learned the "sit" command and is eager to learn more with the right guidance. Because of his reactivity towards other dogs and his strength on a leash, Arnold needs to be the only pet in the home. But don't worry – he has so much love to give, you won't need another animal! Given his energy and need for a secure environment, we're requiring a fenced yard for Arnold. This will give him the space he needs to run and play safely. Described as friendly, happy, playful, and loyal, Arnold is ready to shower his forever family with love and companionship. If you're looking for a devoted and active companion, Arnold might just be the perfect match for you. Come meet him today and see for yourself why he's such a special boy. His minimum adoption fee is $95 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Mimi, a delightful 12-year-old Pit Bull Terrier weighing 63.8 pounds. This sweet and fun-loving lady is full of personality and loves nothing more than following you around. She knows how to sit, shake, and lay down, and she's always eager to impress. Mimi adores toys and bones, and she enjoys exploring the yard, sniffing around, and showing off her spunky energy. Despite her age, she’s still young at heart and would thrive with daily walks to keep her active. While she keeps her kennel clean, she does have the occasional pee accident, but she's working on it. Mimi should be the only dog in the home due to her protectiveness over her space and items. Although she got along with her foster’s dog initially, she's shown that sharing her space and resources can be stressful for her. Mimi hasn’t been around children, but with her gentle nature, she may do well with older, respectful kids. Do you have space in your heart and home for Mimi? Her minimum adoption fee is $195, plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents if she’s 4 months or older. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Nadia, a 1-year-old Pit Bull mix who has overcome incredible odds and is now ready to find her forever home. When Nadia first came to us, she was in a heartbreaking condition—emaciated, suffering from a severe skin infection, and with nails so long they were growing into her paw pads. We weren’t sure she would make it, but Nadia’s fighting spirit and sweet, gentle nature carried her through. Despite all the pain she must have been in, she was loving and kind from day one. Now, after lots of love and care, Nadia has blossomed. She’s gained the proper weight, her skin is healing beautifully, and her playful, confident personality is shining through. This sweet girl is housetrained, crate trained, and gets along well with dogs, cats, and kids. Nadia does enjoy a good, playful romp with other dogs, so she’ll need a furry friend who can match her energy. Here’s what makes Nadia so special: Loves toys and chewing: She’s always up for some puzzle play and enjoys using her mind to earn treats. Car ride enthusiast: She’s happy to hop in and go wherever the adventure takes her. Loyal companion: Nadia will follow you around all day, always by your side, whether in the house or on a walk. Polite and eager to learn: She already knows how to sit, is working on "stay," and walks well on a leash (though passing people can make her a little nervous). She’s smart and quick to pick up on commands, especially when treats are involved! Nadia is adaptable, happy, and incredibly sweet. She’s quiet (her foster mom has yet to hear her bark) and loves to snuggle. She sleeps through the night in her crate without any fuss and even enjoys a good bath. Because of her past, she does need to be on a feeding schedule with a slow feed bowl. This resilient girl is looking for a home where she’ll be showered with love and never have to worry about being neglected again. Could that be with you? If you’re ready to give Nadia the forever home she deserves, she’ll reward you with endless loyalty, affection, and tail wags. Her minimum adoption fee is $195 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. Story
Hubble is such a good dog on his own. He is very sweet and loving. He loves to run a play, he's a big chewer, and loves to cuddle in bed all night if you let him. We got him as soon as he was able to be away from his mother at 8 weeks, and have given him a loving home for just about a year. He was born September 18th, 2023, and we brought him home to meet our other dog in mid November. The issue we have now is that as he is getting older, he's struggling a bit with other dogs. He loves people, but has had a few small fights with our other dog. We love Hubble so very much and have done everything we can to provide him a good home. He's been very well taken care of and loved this whole time, but after they had a fight the other day which resulted in a vet visit (everyone is fine, mostly just shaken up), we've decided that what would be best for him is a home where he isn't competing for attention with other dogs. We hope someone can give him the home we know he deserves.

Story
Moodonna is really enjoying her time in her foster home, but this sweet girl is ready to be adopted!Moo's foster mom says: "Her favorite things to do are to creep on the neighbors, watch the neighborhood critters, or pass out on the hot concrete. As far as the outdoors goes, we have her on a tether whether she is in the front or back yard. I'm a helicopter pup parent so I'm always out with her. She very quickly learned that when I say "careful" she is close to the end of her tether so she can slow down.Moo gets so excited she jumps on people impulsively still, but listens as soon as you say "off". She gets the zoomies often some days, especially when she is seeing the boys or my partner after they've been gone/busy for a few days. When she is inside, no potty accidents, no getting into things she isn't supposed to. After slowly testing her, we now are more than comfortable with leaving her to roam the house freely when we are out. Moo prefers the days where I work from home or my partner is working on the truck outside. You guys must have done some amazing work with this girl! Thank you!Moodonna is 5-years-old and weighs 48 lbs!Adoption Fee: $200Estimated Date of Birth: 12/1/18Intake Reason: Transferred in from animal control with mom and littermatesAnimal will be spayed and up to date on vaccines, and microchipped prior to adoption. If their kennel card on display at TAPS shelter facility is marked as unaltered, the animal will be altered prior to being released for adoption. Animal stage may change from time to time based on surgery and medical status. TAPS strives to keep kennel cards as up to date as possible with current information but from time to time, information may change and a new kennel card may be pending. Full and current vaccination schedule and medical records along with any behavioral disclosures will be provided at time of adoption.

This sweet lady is Tombstone. She is a 2 year old boxer/pit mix. She got her interesting name because she was found running at large in a Peoria cemetery. She completed stray hold at Peoria County Animal Protective Services and no one came to reclaim this beauty. She will help you with yard work picking up all the sticks. She loves sticks, she will drop them nicely when asked. She as very sweet and loving both treat and attention motivated. She has a loud mouth but it is all for show. Meet Lucky! As you can tell, Lucky didn't have the best start when he got to Pet Central Helps. He was skin and bones. Despite his circumstances, he eagerly greeted us with smooches and love. He wanted nothing more than a good butt scratch and some cuddles. Lucky's dedicated foster has spent time putting some weight back on Lucky so that he can be his best self for his new family! Just look at the difference from Lucky's first day to now! This come-back pup is more than deserving of a happy ending with his forever family. Anyone would be LUCKY to be loved by this boy. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
