Story
🐶 Cherrybelle 🐶 2-3 yrs old Pittie mix 55lbs Do over! You know when you find yourself in a messy situation and you just really need a reset button? That's where I am! I had a rough beginning without all the love I now know that I deserve. Can you relate? Now, with the help of an amazing rescue team and my foster family I've had some time to work on me and get the care and love I needed. I'm getting my Do Over! I had heartworm, got treatment, beat it! I had cherry-eye, got surgery, no more eye problems! I was very underweight, I've been eating well with extra treats! I now have a strong and healthy body with a beautiful coat. I didn't even know how to doggo! Now I know how to play with toys and run the yard with my doggo friends. I may have even rolled in the mud a couple times heh... not gonna lie, it was messy but fun! I am house broken and crate trained. I don't LOVE my crate but I do well with it. I eat in there so I don't have to worry about the other dogs trying to steal my food and I also stay in there when my people are gone and when it's bedtime. I have a lot of pup brothers and sisters here and sometimes I get territorial and pushy, I've improved my manners a lot since living here though. I love playing with my pup friends but I also love my people! Couch cuddles, playing and a good ear massage, ? it! It's going to be a good life now, I can feel it in my waggy tail! Do you think we could be besties? Come meet me and let's find out! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . Story
Meet Fletcher! 🐾 Fletcher is a sweet and cuddly 1-year-old Pit mix (born 4/4/2023) weighing 64 pounds. He’s the perfect shadow companion, happily following you around or curling up for a cozy nap. Fully potty trained, Fletcher hasn’t had a single accident at his foster home and is also crate-trained—though he appreciates a little treat incentive to go in. Fletcher’s heart is as big as his paws! He’s amazing with people of all ages and sizes and is gentle and curious around other animals. While he hasn’t had many encounters with dogs or cats, slow introductions have brought out his good-boy behavior. He’s even lived with small critters in cages and leaves them completely undisturbed. When it’s playtime, Fletcher loves his toys (but fetch isn’t really his thing—“My name is Fletcher, not FETCHer!”). He adores running zoomies in his fenced yard but stays calm and collected inside. He’s a chewer, but with enough enrichment and toys, he sticks to his playthings. Fletcher has a scar on his back left leg that occasionally causes a slight limp, but a vet has confirmed there’s nothing to worry about. This resilient pup is also incredibly tolerant—his ears, paws, tail, teeth, and belly are all fair game for gentle handling. Remarkably, Fletcher has yet to bark at all in his foster home! He’s a little skittish with loud noises but seeks comfort from his people or retreats to his bed when startled. Ready to welcome Fletcher’s loving, playful, and gentle energy into your home? He’s eager to find his forever family! 💕 Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . Story
Hi my name is Frank! I am a 1 year old big boy at 60 lbs. but don't let my size fool you because I'm the biggest cuddle bug! I was dumped at a police station! Thank goodness a nice police officer took me home and got me into a foster home because I hear animal control can be a scary place for a pup like me. I have been staying with my girls at Ruffner's until I find my forever home. I thought I found my forever home once but that only lasted 3 weeks. Even though the girls at Ruffner's told them I have a lot of separation anxiety from being dumped and moving homes, they still put me in a crate for 8+ hours a day. It made my separation anxiety even worse and they returned me. Before I was adopted I was also doing great playing in groups of dogs but after I was returned I was nervous with dogs. My girls at Ruffner's aren't really sure what happened during those 3 weeks I was gone but it definitely wasn't good. I would do best in a home where someone can be home with me until I feel safe enough to be left on my own. I'm very smart and food motivated and I love going on walks! I love to chew on bones and play fetch. I need a fenced yard or at least someone who is a runner and can make sure I get lots of exercise. With proper introduction I would be okay with other dogs around my size. I'm up to date on all my vaccinations, microchipped, neutered and heartworm negative. If you are interested in me, call 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $225 Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Mama is my name but snuggling is my game. I'm not sure how I got into this situation, but I promise you that it wasn't because I didn't love my family. I am deceivingly very chill and friendly with people and other dogs. I cannot say the same for cats. I am housetrained when I am attended to be let out on time. Since I am an older gal, I don't have as much holding time as I once used to. As you can see, I have some lumps and bumps that come with the natural aging process and I have been cleared from having any cancerous lumps. I enjoy napping on the couch inside or out and I can even go for a short walk. I love treat time and I am very ladylike when I take my treats from your hand. My foster parents say that I am a super duper wonderful dog and I would make any new family feel the same. I am hoping to find a forever home that will love me for the rest of my days. I still have lots of spunk in this old body and I'm not done living just yet. Maybe we can help each other out, I can help keep you company and you can help keep me safe. I am ready to go and up to date on all my vaccines and have been spayed. Please say yes to this old gal. For more info and to meet this gorgeous gal, call Teri at 630-897-7454 The adoption fee is $150. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Meet Kokomo Joe! Looking for a big, lovable goofball to brighten your days? Look no further—Kokomo Joe is here! This 80-85+ lb mixed breed boy may have had a rough start in Texas, but he's ready to leave his past behind and find a forever home filled with love and belly rubs. Kokomo Joe's story is heartbreaking—he was abandoned and starved when his previous owner was incarcerated, leaving him to fend for himself while his housemates were fed. When he first arrived, he was painfully thin, with every rib and his hip bones showing. He also had some food aggression, but who could blame him after all he'd been through? Thankfully, with regular meals and love, he now understands he’ll never go hungry again. He’s no longer protective of his food and hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression since. Despite his past, Kokomo Joe’s spirit shines bright! He’s a true fun-loving goober who doesn’t realize his own size. Whether he’s hopping around like Tigger or cuddling up as if he’s a tiny lap dog, this big guy will keep you smiling. His crate and house manners are spot-on—zero accidents here! He’s even learned to move his crate across the floor, proving he’s as strong as he is sweet. Kokomo Joe gets along with other dogs with proper introductions and would thrive in a home that can continue his training and give him the structure he needs. His ideal family will embrace his goofy, big-hearted nature and help him become the best boy he can be. If you’re ready to welcome this big, bouncy cuddle bug into your life, Kokomo Joe is ready to meet you! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). .
