Story
This is Ember, an approx. 1.5 year old, ~45 lbs. female bully mix. We fondly call her our Feral Forest Child as she was found wandering in the middle of nowhere with her siblings as a puppy, but she is genuinely about as sweet as you can get! She is currently intact, but will be going in very soon to be spayed and will come with all current vaccinations, microchip, heartworm and parasite preventative, and a clean bill of health. Rehoming fee is just to cover updating her medical care. Ember is an absolute doll, with plenty of potential for sports and adventuring or even just as an active family pet, however she is developing into a proper little Terrier with the prey drive to match. She will need to be placed in a unicorn home that has no small dogs or livestock, no younger children under 10 (She has shown zero aggression towards people, but has no concept of her own body and would absolutely knock down a smaller kid on accident), and who has bull breed experience.

Story
Meet Cindy!Cindy is a 6-year-old black-and-white female with a lively and unique personality. While she has some quirks, Cindy is a sweet, playful dog with a lot of love to give.Cindy was recently returned to the shelter due to her loud and vocal nature. She tends to bark and whine when she sees other dogs, often trying to approach them out of excitement. However, she has not displayed any aggression, such as growling or showing teeth. Cindy is housebroken and enjoys meeting new people, making her a friendly and social companion.Cindy loves going on walks, where her fast pace keeps things exciting. She reacts to bicycles on the trail, but she responds to corrections and continues to improve with training. She’s very gentle when taking treats, knows the `sit` command, and delights in playing with toys. Cindy is also quite expressive, often making adorable sounds and grunts that add to her charm. In playgroups, Cindy has been described as a “gentle dainty selective” dog, with minor assertive tendencies that are easily managed with proper guidance. She takes corrections well and continues to show progress with stimulus control. Cindy would do best in a home that understands her vocal nature and can provide structure, patience, and plenty of outlets for her energy. With the right environment, Cindy has the potential to thrive and become a loving, loyal companion.

Story
Chris – 4-year-old Brindle MixChris is a low-energy, affectionate companion who thrives on being close to his people. He enjoys lounging in the sun, rolling in the grass, and occasionally getting the zoomies across the yard. While he’s happiest relaxing by your side or under your chair, he also appreciates daily opportunities to release energy with short runs or longer neighborhood walks.Chris has been making progress adjusting to new environments and people, though he can be nervous and startles easily with sudden movements. He has a goofy, endearing side and loves being pet until he flops over, and he’s even learning to snuggle. His foster family has taught him how to navigate stairs and provided him with supportive feeding tools like a raised slow feeder to help manage his sensitive stomach and fast eating habits.Chris has no food guarding tendencies and allows handling of every part of his body. However, he requires a consistent diet to prevent digestive upset and homemade treats when possible. While he enjoys car rides, he hesitates getting in and out of the vehicle and will need patience with this.Pro’s:Low-energy, laid-back temperamentAffectionate and loves being near his peopleExcited about treats and chew toysNo food guardingFully handleableChallenges:Not cat-friendlyStartles easily with sudden movementsRequires a strict diet due to digestive sensitivityDisplays boundary reactivity (barking at people/things outside)Chews inappropriate items if left unattendedEats non-food items like acorns and poopChris would do best with a patient, experienced adopter who can help him feel secure, continue his training, and provide appropriate outlets for his nervous energy. With time, consistency, and love, Chris has the potential to flourish as a loyal and loving companion.

Story
**Meet Tiki!** Tiki is a 7-year-old black male with a sweet and friendly disposition. He’s been adjusting well to his time at the shelter and is looking for a home where he can continue to thrive. During a recent outing to Baseline Trail, Tiki showed off his affectionate and adaptable nature. On the car ride there, he stood with his head between the seats, eagerly seeking treats. By the ride back, he had relaxed and laid down on the seat. Tiki walks well on a leash, though he prefers to be in front, and he handles himself calmly around other dogs and new people. Tiki demonstrated excellent manners when meeting strangers, happily greeting them with a wagging tail. He was also gentle when taking treats and knows the `sit` command. While he does pull on the leash during walks, his friendly and cooperative nature makes him a joy to spend time with. Tiki has a history of chronic ear infections, which started long before his arrival at MCAS. His ears have improved significantly but are still in the healing process. Tiki is a loving, social dog who would do well in a home where he can receive the care and attention he deserves. With his gentle personality and sweet nature, Tiki is sure to make a wonderful companion.
