Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! From the foster: Polly is a bit reserved when she meets new people. She prefers her humans to be on her level, and will come running for cuddles when they sit on the floor. She is quick to adopt the human who feeds her, but she is not necessarily food motivated. She knows the dog door and is house broken. Polly is a very well behaved young lady. She has never taken something that is not hers and always takes treats with a gentle touch. She is great on a leash; walking with a loose lead. All she wants is to stay by your side or follow you around the house. Polly is happy to hang out in her crate or lay in her dog bed on the side of your bed. She only wants a loving home and all the pets. *Will be available after 1/16/25* www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Sheba loves a lot of things, not least of all people and kids.  She is very athletic and is always up for walkies, games, and any sort of play.  Sheba is also usually ready for food & snacks, there are unverified reports of counter surfing, but she lawyered up and the mystery has been left unsolved.  When she takes a break from being active, Sheba loves snuggles, belly rubs, and easy toys like a food puzzle.   Sheba would probably be best as an only dog in an active family.  She will thrive in an environment that will give her strong boundaries and expectations.  She enjoys pleasing her humans and can do well when she has goals.  Sheba could probably do well as an agility dog and/or a therapy dog. Sheba has had two instances of heartworm and was successfully treated.  She will need to be on meds the rest of her life and we can talk with interested adopters more about this.   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website - https://demisanimalrescue.com/demis-adoption-application/  All dogs are spayed/neutered, mircochipped, heartworm tested (if over 6 months old) and up to date on vaccinations (combo shot, bordetella, rabies(if age appropriate)  ##2211597##

Story
Torchy is a courtesy posting and not an Animal Rescue of the Rockies dog. But his foster asks that all interested individuals fill out our adoption application.   Five-year-old Torchy has touched his fosters’ hearts with his sweet and silly ways. Once the 45-pound white beauty felt comfortable in their company, he opened his own heart, and now he LOVES licking them, cuddling and snuggling, and playing with them. He also loves engaging, often too exuberantly, with other dogs. Torchy LOVES going for walks - they're the absolute highlight of his day! He enjoys chewing on Nylabones and playing with soft, plushy toys, but what he loves most is his wobble Kong, giddily getting into boxing matches with it! Known to prance around the house and strut when he walks, he’s equally famous for lying on his back with his legs in the air, as an open invitation for belly rubs, paw-lease. Motivated by love, toys and food (he’s passionate about people food), highly intelligent and easy to teach, he knows “come”, “sit”, “down”, “stay”, “off”, “no”, “touch” and “leave it”, accepts his favorite Charlie Bear biscuit treats gently and loves relaxing inside his crate with the door open. He's leash- and house-trained. Torchy has graduated from a 4-week board and training obedience program through American Canine Academy. They offer free lifetime training support to adopters. For Torchy to thrive, he requires a strong but loving “pack leader” to continue his training, and keep him mentally and physically satisfied fur-ever.December 22, 2024, 11:36 am

This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post.   Freckles is a 2-3 yr old female Pitty mix. She is just a big squishy love bug! She loves people and gets along with other dogs. She gives the best kisses!!  I wouldn't recommend her with cats, though. She would do well as an only dog, but is also okay with other dogs her size or larger.  She is spayed, UTD on shots, fully vetted and HW negative, and weighs about 40 lbs. Please email scottnbecky0503@yahoo.com with "Freckles" in the heading if you are interested.   December 22, 2024, 10:52 am

Story
1223379 - Asha is a sweet and friendly 1-ish yr old, 42lbs Pit mix. Very smart, curious and eager to snuggle. She plays well with her foster sisters but has a relatively high prey drive and might not do well with cats. She is crate trained for when you are away, as she still has a curious puppy mouth. She is potty trained, goes pee/poop on command when she has access to the outside, but she is still learning leash etiquette. Asha would do well in a home with another dog similar to her size and age, or with an owner that can provide her with lots of exercise and activity, 2-3+ hours daily.Things to know! --Asha is very smart and curious and would benefit greatly from invested training!-Based on her behavior of pulling away, shrinking, trying to hide any time there is a loud noise, she bumps into something, I lift my hands up etc; its very clear that she received some abuse and neglect prior to her arriving at the Roswell Shelter. Initially she had some shelter shock but once she got over that and her personality started to come out I witnessed little regressions that made it clear it was more than just being at the shelter. In addition to this she had a little bit of food possessiveness that probably came from being under fed/neglected. She has since put on weight and is learning that everyone gets fed what they need. I can now put my hands in her bowl, touch and kiss her while eating, take it away with absolutely no incident. I have yet to feed her tandem with my dogs though, mealtime separation is probably best till a routine is figured out and she feels safe in her new home. She does well sharing treats and toys.-Due to her prior abuse it is best if her training doesn’t consist of any harsh negative reinforcement or loud commands. This tends to cause her to recoil and ignore you. She responds REALLY WELL to calm, focused and intuitive directions. She also loves treats and is easily motivated by them :)-I would not recommend her as a “first dog” for someone and she’d probably do better without small children she could run over.-She has a very sweet demeanor but she is still a young bully mix and will use her weight and strength when she isn’t interested in doing what you say. Still testing/learning boundaries.-She will probably fill out to 47-50lbs when full grown If Asha seems like the right fit for you please complete an application at www.sloppykisses.org/adoptions! ##1916430##

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! From the foster: Murphy is the sweetest little pup who is ready to bring love and fun into his forever home! He’s a playful guy who adores his toys, loves giving kisses from time to time, and has the cutest little spots on his ears. While he’ll cuddle for a bit, he’s also happy to entertain himself—especially if there’s something good on TV! Murphy is doing well with crate training and is working hard on potty training and leash walking—he’s still young, but he’s learning fast! He can be a little timid with loud noises, but he’s already mastered the vacuum like a champ. Whether he’s perched on the couch looking out the window or strolling through the neighborhood, Murphy loves watching all the people, animals, and activity around him. He’s not reactive, just a curious observer taking it all in. With patience, love, and consistency, Murphy will continue to grow into the perfect companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful pup who’s eager to learn and explore, Murphy might be the perfect match for you! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
