Story
Meet Lia our strikingly beautiful, approximately 3 yr. old, spayed pittie blend. She has a stunning light brindle coat reminiscent of a caramel sundae and her bright golden eyes, reflect a gentle soul and a curious mind. Lia’s ear to ear infectious grin, her tall, and pointed antennae ears add to her uniqueness. Be prepared for strangers to comment on her incredible features often. She is a stunner with a fan club! Lia is fully vaccinated, microchipped and was a great canine citizen in playgroups at the San José shelter. While in her past life at the shelter she enjoyed supervised romps with other dogs, these days she prefers 1:1 time with humans -what can we say, she is all about the humans. When approached by stranger’s up close and personal, she melts into a 60lb, wiggle worm who may try to slip you a little tongue action but behind a door she’ll sound like a posse of guardian dogs ready to defend their flock. All bark, no action – can be bought with treats or pets. Lia epitomizes the essence of “cannot be bothered” by passing dogs while on leash. She is an expert hiker, or an ideal companion for a leisurely stroll. She firmly supports the “suns out – buns out” lifestyle. PACC seeks an active household that appreciates large, strong, and active dogs, particularly those who enjoy cuddling with the whole family on the couch for Netflix and chill time. Kids in the home should be 10+ because little humans take a lot of time, dogs take time, and most families don't have time for both. Cats are not recommended. If you’re looking for a girl who combines beauty and brain’s, then fill out our application and meet this stunner. Story
Hi guys, I'm Dino! I am a 4 year old, 75 lbs., neutered male Pitbull/Bulldog mix, who's always the life of the party! I'm an energetic, outgoing fella that loves to be outside. All of my friends tell me how handsome I am! I am one rambunctious boy who loves to run, jump and play. I will need to work on my manners to curb that excitement a bit and I'm a boundary tester, but I love treats and can't wait to learn! I've been a rockstar at Nose Work and can sniff out all the goodies like a pro! I love being around people and already know how to sit if you offer me a treat. If you are looking for silly puppy hijinks in a bigger package, then I'm your boy! Dino ID# A939842 I recently went on a field trip with one of my PHS Volunteer friends! Here's how I did: Dino went on a three-hour off-site trip today and visited three different locations. when I opened the car door, he put his paws up on the back seat and tried to get into the car but couldn't quite get the coordination to make it in independently. So, I gave his back leg a boost onto the door sill, and he quickly figured out how to get in on his own. The first location was Seal Point Park in San Mateo. We walked along the Bay Trail and then up the hill. We only walked about half the park because Dino was taking his time rolling in all the green grass. We were around lots of people, bicycles, and dogs, but managed to keep a distance from everyone thanks to the wide paths. Of course, Dino tried to visit all the dogs—no aggressive behavior, just curiosity. The second location was Parkside Aquatic Park in San Mateo. Dino did more rolling around in the grass, and as soon as we got near the water, he jumped in, splashed around, and stuck his face in the water a few times. Apparently, Dino LOVES water! The third location was Hillsdale Shopping Center. Dino ignored all the people but was confused and hesitant around the larger sculptures on the first level. He was sniffing around with his nose close to the floor most of the time. We did one lap of the first level, and Dino went right up a stairway to the second level. We walked around half the upper level, avoiding the food court, and then Dino descended the stairs without hesitation.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hello friends, my name is Roman! I'm a 2 year old, 48 lbs., neutered male Pitbull mix who loves to meet everyone. I'm a sweet and cuddly boy that is a total social butterfly, I love to go out and about  meeting new human and doggy friends. I'm a rambunctious boy that enjoys going hiking and of course rolling around in the grass as well. I love playing in the yard and finding a nice sunny patch to take a snooze but I'm a bit of an escape artist so it's best if you keep an eye on me. I'm a silly, sassy boy that can't wait to go home with my new family, is it you? Story
Hey there, are you looking for a Denny's 'Grand Slam'? Well, here I am I'm Denny and I'm a 1 year old, neutered, pit bull mix that weighs about 75lbs. I'm a curious and playful young dog, and if you have snacks, I'll find them! I'm a sweet boy and take my treats very nicely if a bit slobbery. I'm an active, energetic boy looking for a new walking and adventure buddy. Don't forget the snuggles! I love to sit next to or on top of my favorite person. I'm an exuberant player and would do best with similarly matched resident dogs. If I sound like the perfect addition to the family, please bring the whole household, including any resident dogs, to meet me! Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello, I'm Saucy! I'm a 1-year-old, spayed pitbull that currently weighs about 43lbs. I'm a silly, fun-loving girl who enjoys squeaky toys and going on walks. In fact, when I'm extra excited on my walks, I like to do a cute, tiny hop into the air! I still have my puppy energy, and I would do great in a home with a dog sibling who can play with me and help me continue to build confidence. Please make sure we have a chance to be properly introduced before I join your family, though. I need time to warm up to new people, but once I feel comfortable with you, I'm super duper affectionate. Although I'm a total sweetheart, I have some prey drive, so I'd do best in a home without small animal or cats. I can't wait to find my forever family so I can give them lots of tail wags and pittie wiggles! For more information, just ask about Saucy! ID# A952227 I recently visited the PHS store at Hilldale mall in hopes of finding my new family. I was a little bit nervous but excited! I met over 50 people, toddlers and adults and I took treats from anyone who offered me one! I also met lots of doggies who where also visiting the mall and I did super great!  Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person.
