Story
Love dogs but not the cost of owning one? HAVE WE GOT A DEAL FOR YOU! We are looking for a long term foster for Camilla as the cost of her food and medication is prohibitive for adopters. Camilla is allergic to just about everything so she takes an allergy pill every morning and eats special food which is quite expensive. We are looking for someone in town with a landscaped yard (she’s allergic to dust) and someone who is home a good deal if the time. We will provide all food, medication, and veterinary care. We will also provide a crate as she must be crated when you leave because of separation anxiety. Camilla is crate trained and potty trained. Camilla is so so sweet and gets along with other dogs and kids. She hasn’t been around cats but I expect it’s not a good idea.   If you’re interested in helping Camilla please fill out our foster application. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/BPNovember 5, 2024, 11:25 pm

Story
Want more joy in your life? Need a couch potato buddy? Want to wake up and feel you are the most special creature in the world? Have I got a dog for you! Baby is a sweet gentle 6 year old who loves nothing more than just hanging out with her people. She's house trained, doesn't bark in the house or yard, has the most joyous tail wags, and according to her foster "is one of the easiest dogs I have ever taken care of". She would probably need to be the only dog in the house or can be adopted out with her previous housemate boogie who is also available for adoption.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $550 *Tea is eligible for Foster-to-Adopt!  Tea is a 1 year old Pit bull mix who is brewing up love and kisses for her lucky forever humans! Mama Tea was rescued from the shelter with her babies and now that they are all grown up, this young gal is ready for a home of her own! Tea weighs 45 pounds and is a little low-rider linebacker ready to burst into your life with smiles! If you’re ready for a strong steeping of tea, adopt Tea. Tea is a high-energy, goofy gal who is ready to make the most of her forever after! This gal would be a fabulous adventure companion and she can’t wait to take on hikes and walks with you! Tea is so lovable and sweet, and those who know and love Pitties will fall madly in love with Tea instantly! Tea is super smart and clever and quickly learned all the ways to charm those around her into giving her everything she could ever want on a silver platter. She is very food motivated and has already learned a few tricks in her foster home. It’s pretty hard to say no to a smile as bright as hers, and trust us we have tried! Her tail never stops wagging and we have never seen her bright smile leave her face. She loves her toys and she loves her treats… basically she loves anything that has her name on it (and even things that don’t). Tea also loves cuddling and thinks she is a total lapdog. If you let her clamber onto the couch, she will make you her personal pillow. If you’ve been looking for a goofy and amazing new companion, you’ve met your perfect brew with Tea!  Tea wakes up at 7 AM and immediately gets her breakfast in a puzzle bowl to make sure she takes her time eating. She plays for about an hour and then enjoys her morning walk and training time. While her foster mom gets some work done, she settles with a toy until she is ready for a nap. During the afternoon, she plays and enjoys some romps in the yard. She has dinner at 5 and then heads out on an evening walk followed by cuddles. She goes out for one last potty and then heads to bed at 10 PM. Tea has lived with dogs of all ages and sizes and loves them all! She would thrive with a playful companion whether human or canine. Tea will require a home ready to continue her training and socialization, as she is still a total puppy herself, despite the fact that she has had puppies. Her foster mom is working on “settle” as a command which will be key for her new family. Tea loves walks and is always happy to head into nature. Come and brew up your new family member today!    Tea is only an option for homes who have previously owned a dog. Kids should be over the age of 8. February 10, 2025, 6:26 pm

If you’re looking for a warm, snuggly companion to brighten your days, meet Jasmine and Earl Grey—two delightful, 10 week old Pitbull puppies steeped in love, charm, and just the right amount of mischief. Expected to reach around 44 pounds like their mama, these two are equal parts playful energy and couch-potato cuddle bugs. Plus, they’re non-stop entertainment—whether they’re zooming around the yard, collecting sticks like tiny lumberjacks, or dramatically flopping into a sun puddle for a mid-day nap. Jasmine is the fearless leader of the duo, always first to investigate anything new—whether it’s a mysterious crinkle on the floor (spoiler: it was just a leaf), a human who might have snacks, or the totally reasonable question of “What happens if I pounce on Earl Grey right this second?” (Answer: chaos). She approaches life with the confidence of a puppy who thinks she runs the world, which, to be fair, she just might. Earl Grey, on the other hand, is a professional shadow—your shadow, to be precise. He follows his humans everywhere, right underfoot, ensuring you never have to suffer the indignity of going to the bathroom alone. He is also the undisputed champion of face kisses and believes in the philosophy of one more kiss just in case you forgot I love you. Unlike his go-getter sister, he’s more likely to think before he acts—except when he launches himself off the deck stairs in what can only be described as an Olympic-level “Superman” jump. While they adore each other, these two must go to separate homes due to littermate syndrome—a condition that can make it harder for siblings to develop their own confidence and training skills when raised together. But don’t worry—each puppy is independent enough to thrive on their own, whether as a solo dog or in a home with a friendly, playful canine companion. When they’re not perfecting their wrestling moves (complete with dramatic yelps for effect), Jasmine and Earl Grey are world-class snugglebugs. They have perfected the fine art of whining until they are tucked into a blanket on the couch like royalty. And when they’re not snuggling, they’re busy pursuing their other hobbies: stealing socks, trying to eat flowers (they swear they’re delicious), and investigating whether the vacuum is friend or foe (jury’s still out). At the end of the day, these two are pure puppy perfection—smart, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining. If you’re looking for a best friend who will fill your home with laughter, love, and occasional sock thievery, one of these little tea-time troublemakers is waiting for you! The only question is—are you more of a Jasmine person or an Earl Grey fan? Either way, your days are about to get a whole lot sweeter!February 13, 2025, 7:34 am

Story
Luna is a sweet 6-year-old who I got in Alaska. She's a calm, loving, and incredibly smart companion. Luna has been a source of comfort and joy, always bringing a peaceful presence to the room. She loves people, enjoys cuddling, loves to sleep, and is a gentle, loving companion. As much as it breaks my heart, I'm looking for a new home that can give her the attention and comfort she truly deserves. If you're looking for a gentle and loving friend, Luna could be the perfect fit.

Story
Over all Ralfie is a good dog, unfortunately at this point in our lives we don’t have the time to give him the best possible life he deserves. Ralfie is 3 years old and a loving and loyal companion with a timid yet protective nature. He is a vigilant guardian of the house, always alert to the sound of the doorbell or a knock. Despite his cautious demeanor, he is friendly with people and most dogs. Potty-trained and obedient, he listens to commands well, though he has a hint of anxiety and some suspected allergies. He shines on walks and bike rides, enjoying the activity while keeping to himself. A wonderful mix of affection and independence and lots of energy, he is the perfect balance of love and loyalty.
