Story
Meet Lia our strikingly beautiful, approximately 3 yr. old, spayed pittie blend. She has a stunning light brindle coat reminiscent of a caramel sundae and her bright golden eyes, reflect a gentle soul and a curious mind. Lia’s ear to ear infectious grin, her tall, and pointed antennae ears add to her uniqueness. Be prepared for strangers to comment on her incredible features often. She is a stunner with a fan club! Lia is fully vaccinated, microchipped and was a great canine citizen in playgroups at the San José shelter. While in her past life at the shelter she enjoyed supervised romps with other dogs, these days she prefers 1:1 time with humans -what can we say, she is all about the humans. When approached by stranger’s up close and personal, she melts into a 60lb, wiggle worm who may try to slip you a little tongue action but behind a door she’ll sound like a posse of guardian dogs ready to defend their flock. All bark, no action – can be bought with treats or pets. Lia epitomizes the essence of “cannot be bothered” by passing dogs while on leash. She is an expert hiker, or an ideal companion for a leisurely stroll. She firmly supports the “suns out – buns out” lifestyle. PACC seeks an active household that appreciates large, strong, and active dogs, particularly those who enjoy cuddling with the whole family on the couch for Netflix and chill time. Kids in the home should be 10+ because little humans take a lot of time, dogs take time, and most families don't have time for both. Cats are not recommended. If you’re looking for a girl who combines beauty and brain’s, then fill out our application and meet this stunner. Story
I was adopted at 3mo to grow up with an infant and I was patient with him. While I wasn’t trained, I slept in a crate and behaved well with guests. I love people! I pottied on pads or went outdoors. When my human child started dropping food, I’d rush to eat it off the ground. A year later, we moved into a home with more people. I peed in the house and then I wasn’t trusted to be indoors anymore. I was in the yard most of the day and slept indoors in a crate at night. I eventually started growling when I was unhappy about staying outside all alone, needing to be crated while the other dog roamed free, when I wanted affection, or to play. Because of this, my family couldn’t trust me. I’m now 2.5 human years old. My auntie took me in to help break bad habits so that I can hopefully find another home. I love walks, training, and cuddles. Food and physical affection motivates me. I play well with other dogs when I get used to them. I’m looking for an experienced and dedicated owner.

Story
Hi guys, I'm Dino! I am a 4 year old, 65 lbs., neutered male Pitbull/Bulldog mix, who's always the life of the party! I'm an energetic, outgoing fella that loves to be outside. All of my friends tell me how handsome I am! I am one rambunctious boy who loves to run, jump and play. I will need to work on my manners to curb that excitement a bit and I'm a boundary tester, but I love treats and can't wait to learn! I've been a rockstar at Nose Work and can sniff out all the goodies like a pro! I love being around people and already know how to sit if you offer me a treat. If you are looking for silly puppy hijinks in a bigger package, then I'm your boy! Dino ID# A939842 I recently went on a field trip with one of my PHS Volunteer friends! Here's how I did: Today I spent 2 hours with Dino on an off site adventure. He was hesitant to load into my car but quickly jumped in after a few treats. We drove a short distance to the Broadway, Burlingame, Pick of the Liter area and walked around. He did great, walking loose leash most of the time with occasional pulls if he smelled something interesting. He showed no reaction to other people walking around. We then went to Mills Canyon Park, parking at the Adiline Dr trailhead, we walked out and back on the paved access road portion of the park to avoid the mud from the recent rains on the main loop trail. After the hike, we spent some time in my small fenced yard in Millbrae. Dino got the chance to wander around then settled down and sat next to me, listening to the sounds of the neighborhood. Dino did great on the car rides, laying down after a few times in the backseat. He did show more interest in walking at new places compared to his usual route on Rollins.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello! My name is Charlie and I'm a 1-year-old, neutered Pitbull/Rottweiler mix that currently weighs about 60lbs. I'm an active, energetic boy that is super treat motivated and very eager to please. I love running through agility courses in the yard. I'm a big love bug that's still working on my sharing skills and impulse control. I would prefer to live with a family that has experience with teaching pups how to share, who are also quite active, kids would be case by case. I'm a playful guy that loves going for walks and getting belly rubs from my favorite people. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Charlie! ID# A946468 My friends at PHS have been helping me learn better manners! Here's how they feel about my progress: Charlie is so good with his training plan. He knows sit, down, stay and usually roll over. He's very easy to walk with the Gentle Leader. Good boy!   Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. Story
Hello, my name is Peach and I'm a 2 year old, spayed, Pitbull mix that currently weighs about 60 lbs.  I may look big and strong but I'm a total softy, I'm an absolute lovebug that can't get enough pets and scratches. And don't worry I give the love right back with tons of doggy kisses. I'm whole package because not only am I sensitive but a silly, rowdy and fun girl as well.  I'm a rambunctious player and do well with equally excited and physically playful dogs, like me. I enjoy going to new places and playing in the yard as well as learning new things! The team here says I have and amazing 'sit', but I know I always ready to learn more.  I'm a rockstar at Nose Work class. I can sniff out treats like a pro! Peach ID# A947062 I recently had a sleepover with a PHS Volunteer! Here is how I did: The volunteer says I’m the sweetest girl who loves toys and does well on walks. I also discovered that even though my name is Peach, I love blueberries! If you throw treats into the air, I’m very good at catching them, and after a long day of being silly and adorable, I want to cuddle with my person until I fall asleep.
