Story
Hi, my name is technically Jason but I didn’t respond to that name so my foster family opted to call me Fuji instead. I think it’s because I’m so sweet like a Fuji apple. I am a charming 3-year-old brindle American Pit Bull Terrier, overflowing with love and tenderness. I lean in for affection and I love being rubbed. For me, the best seat in the house will always be your lap.I am super silly and clumsy, but my foster folks say that’s what makes me so charming! I am treat motivated, so learning commands and tricks isn’t too hard. I became potty trained, learned sit, stay/wait, come, and to only jump on the couch when invited in two weeks. I’ve almost learned lay down and high-five as well. I am crate trained and do well when left home alone.I love meeting and saying hi to other dogs. I have lived with another dog and we quickly became good friends. I play very well and have gotten along with all the dogs I have met. Fetch and chew toys will have me entertained for hours! I’m a playful boy who likes activity, but after a long day taking a nap in your lap is all I want to do.Jason also went on a doggie day out adventure with a volunteer on 8/31! Here is what they had to say! `Jason is friendly, assertive not shy, loves people and wanted to play with every dog we saw. he does not react to bicycles or mopeds when on busy walking trails but definitely chases lizards if they catch his eye. Jason is a cuddle bug and goes right for your lap when you sit down. He enjoys loves, pets and belly rubs and is extra affectionate when he gets to know you even just after a few hours. He’s a bit of a nibble kisser, but took good feedback and listened when instructed to be gentle. He’s a very good boy who loves the outdoors. he was slightly apprehensive around water at first, but was showing more interest and went in more throughout the day. We took Jason to Lake Natoma for the afternoon on the busy bike and dog trail. He did well around people, bikes, boats, and even other dogs. He slightly pulls when walks, but learns quickly. We sat on the beach for an hour or more, and he explored, played in the water and relaxed on the blanket. He was happy to be with the family, it will be difficult to take him back to the shelter. He’s a good boy and hope you find a good home`*** Jason`s adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from a community member ***

Story
Hi, I`m Queenie, a beautiful girl who would love to come home with you. I love treats and stuffy toys. I am timid with most people at first but give me patience and unconditional love and I will give you all the butt wiggles.I am working on basic training and I have come so far already with my leash etiquette. I was not used to being inside a home but thanks to my short-term foster family, I now love being inside most of all. I am still nervous about roaming the house but became more confident every day I was there. I am a young dog, so I still get into mischief ?? and I would love a family that will continue to train me. I am a people pleaser who loves to learn.I came in with another female, my sister, so I will likely do okay with slow introductions. However, I tend to play a bit rough with other dogs, so a medium-big dog might be best for me. I would do great in a house with lots of love, patience, and understanding. **Personality** Queenie is a gentle soul who needs a little extra TLC. She’s a bit unsure about people and prefers to take her time getting comfortable. While she has some nervous tendencies, she’s eager to learn and grow with the right guidance. With a firm but gentle hand, she will thrive and learn to trust. As she builds her confidence and trust she will let her true colors shine as a rambunctious playful girl, who wants to be loved. **Training Needs** Queenie will benefit from ongoing training to build her confidence and teach her leash etiquette. Being excited about the world around her, Queenie would do best with an adopter who has experience leading a lively dog and providing basic training.Queenie loves to play and she is learning how to play with people. This silly girl likes to chase after a toy when thrown but does not always bring it back. With patience, she’ll discover the joy of playing with her new family. Queenie would be a great dog with whom to share adventures. She is not used to the car yet, but new experiences and exercise will help build her confidence and ease her anxiety. **Other Pets** Queenie prefers to be the queen of her castle! She does not get along with cats or small dogs, but she might do well with large, well-mannered dogs who can help her feel more secure. A slow introduction to other pets is essential to her adjustment.**Ideal Home** Queenie is looking for a family who can focus their love and attention on her. A calm environment with a st

Story
Rumple (or Cowboy as we call him in his foster home) is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. He is smart but respectful, and incredibly easy to train. He now knows how to sit, put the slip lead on for you, and is learning how to lie down. His favorite place is right next to you getting belly rubs. He definitely is a low to moderate energy dog who very much enjoys his daily zoomies and walks (and his 5 hour nap after of course). I think Rumple (Cowboy) would make a great family dog, as he has never shown any signs of aggression and wants to be everyone`s cuddle buddy. If you want to know more about Rumple or meet him please reach out!

Story
Paige was recently a mama and with her puppies adopted, she is now in search of her furever home. A 3yo Pointer/Pittie mix, Paige is fun-loving, silly, and eager to please. She accepts her treats very gently and because she loves her treats so much, helping her to learn more doggy manners will be a breeze! I also went on a doggie day out adventure with a volunteer on 11/9, here is what they had to say! Paige had a great day. She went for a walk at the arboretum in Davis where she saw lots of squirrel and turkeys. She was very curious but never went to chase them. She is very very food motivated, hold up a treat and she will sit there so proper waiting. She has two pup cups and each time she wagged her tail so much. We then went to UOB where she got a big dog bowl and made lots of staff friends and dog friends! Come meet Paige!https://youtube.com/shorts/THgtEPpRwzI?si=91qmx0jNebt9IQnT*Paige`s adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from a community member

Hi, I`m Koopa Troopa, a 2 year old pittie ready for my forever home! I can be pretty nervous but my doggie friends help to build my confidence so I may do well with another pup in the home given a proper introduction. While I am a bit nervous at first (the shelter can be scary!) I warm up once I get to know you and then volunteers describe me as the sweetest!Watch my video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/RotFkv6sAJwCome Meet Me Today!* Koopa Troopa`s adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from Anna Kalashnikova

Story
**Bowie is a courtesy post and is NOT a Yolo SPCA dog. All adoption interest will be forwarded to his owners for review.**   With his big smile and sweet personality, Bowie is a total catch! Bowie is a stunning 2/3-year-old guy who is looking for his fur-ever home. He was adopted from a local shelter, but unfortunately, isn't a good match for his current family. Rather than returning him to the shelter, his family is wanting to rehome him as a private party. He is fully grown and weighs about 45lbs. Bowie is a cuddle bug and athlete wrapped up in an adorable brindle package. He loves to play, especially fetch, and is looking for an active home to keep his busy body happy. After a day of fun, he loves nothing more than cuddling up on the couch for snuggles and kisses. His favorite pastimes also include sunbathing and shredding his toys. Bowie loves other dogs and would thrive with another active dog in the home to wrestle with. He also could be a great companion for someone who has lots of friends with dogs for him to play with. The main reason Bowie is being rehomed is he is too rambunctious for the family's other small older dog. Bowie has done well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Bowie has done well meeting kids and could do well living with kids older than 10 years old. Bowie has been doing well learning all his basic manners but is still a young guy who would benefit from continued training. He is very food-motivated which helps with his training. He is house and crate-trained. Bowie is a total lovebug, but is fearful of men and takes some time to warm up to men. He will bark and growl, but with patience, he can warm up and feel comfortable. He needs a family dedicated to making sure they do slow introductions with men and help Bowie succeed. He would highly benefit from professional training with a positive reinforcement trainer who specializes in fearful dogs. Bowie is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date with his vaccines. He is heartworm-negative, has been kept up-to-date with his monthly preventive, and will come with preventive doses to last until the end of the year.   Bowie's rehoming fee is $50. He will come with his crate, toys, food, and the rest of his supplies.   **Bowie is a courtesy post and is NOT a Yolo SPCA dog. All adoption interest will be forwarded to his owners for review.**  November 5, 2024, 1:55 pm

Story
**This is a courtesy post. Pikachu is NOT a YCSPCA dog and all adoption inquiries will be sent to his caretaker.** Pikachu, I choose you! Pikachu is a 6-year-old handsome hunk of love looking for his fur-ever home. He is your typical house hippo who loves to chill and go for leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. He is obsessed with tug of war and cuddling on the couch with his foster mom. Pikachu is fully grown and weighs about 70lbs, however, he could probably lose a little bit of weight. Pikachu was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Southern California after he was placed on the euthanasia list. He found himself at the shelter after his previous owner was arrested and no one was able to take over his care. He previously lived with a small dog, who was adopted from the shelter. Pikachu is a quiet and gentle soul who is looking for a family that enjoys pittie cuddles and slobbery kisses. He is the perfect mix of independent and social and enjoys attention, but also is happy to keep to himself when you are busy. He is confident and curious and enjoys venturing out into the world to check out all the smells. Like the character, Pikachu, he’ll basically do nothing until you want him to do something and then he is so game!  Pikachu has done well living with another large dog and has been very respectful of her setting boundaries with him. He could do well living with another chill dog, or as an only dog. Pikachu has never been around cats, so his foster mom isn't sure how he would do living with them. Pikachu seems like he could do well living with respectful kids 10 years and older. Pikachu is house and mostly crate-trained. He is a very food-motivated boy and has been doing great learning his basic manners. He has done well being left alone in his crate for short periods and overnight. Pikachu is a sweet and loving boy and could be a great first dog for someone looking for an easygoing companion. If he sounds like he might be the boy for you, email us at dogs@yolospca.org! Pikachu is neutered, up-to-date with his vaccinations, and up-to-date with his monthly preventatives. **This is a courtesy post. Pikachu is NOT a YCSPCA dog and all adoption inquiries will be sent to his caretaker.** November 7, 2024, 12:17 pm

Story
Meet Donner! This 1-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer mix is eager for an adventure with you! His smile and sunny disposition will never fail to brighten your day.Donner is looking for a home that’s active and will be committed to teaching him basic commands and manners. He’s a smart boy whose eagerness to please and food motivation makes him the perfect pup—so far he’s mastered “sit” and “shake”! He has done great in a home setting and loves meeting new people and dogs. He’ll do well as an only dog or with a dog sibling! We do not know how he is with cats, but he could have potential to have a cat sibling that is good with cats if the owners are willing to work on slowly introducing them. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
