Story
Senior Alert!! Sherman is 11.5 yrs old (DOB 08.30.12). He’s the absolute best boy with other dogs of all sizes. He does prefer a home without any cats. Sherman would do well in a home with older children. He is an absolute love, who is happy cuddling up on the couch with his humans and snuggling, but despite his age he also LOVES his daily walks. Sherman is now almost completely deaf, and has trouble seeing in the dark because of changes in his eyes due to age. But, he’s still extremely strong when on walks or even playing. He knows basic obedience commands and is crate trained, house trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He would do best in a home with somebody who is home almost always as he does have some separation anxiety. Sherman is not a SacRDR rescue dog. He is one of our foster's rehoming projects. She is a Vet Tech and is in the process of starting her own rescue. We fully back her and her dogs. We have collaborated on rehoming several dogs with her and the dogs are stable grounded animals. If you are interested in Sherman we will refer you to our foster. An application and home inspection will be required. Interested in meeting Sherman? Story
Meet Dutton! Sweet Dutton is looking for his forever home! He was pulled from the Stockton Shelter at approximately 4 months old after being found running stray with another puppy, and had a bit of a rough start after developing a vaccine reaction that resulted in temporary distemper symptoms. Luckily with time and care he recovered quickly, and has been fairly healthy ever since! Dutton loves his people. He lives with dogs his size of both sexes; when introduced properly he can be playful and he loves his canine foster siblings. Cats and small dogs are not a fit. Dutton is listed as 'Special Needs' due to allergies and anxiety. After all he's been through he's an extra sensitive soul, and is beginning a behavioral training course with a reputable trainer based out of the Sacramento area to work through those anxious tendencies and help him learn to feel safe and secure in new situations. He would do best with a foster or adopter who worked from home (or spends time at home frequently) as he is a bit of a velcro dog. The ideal foster or adopter for Dutton will be willing to participate in training with him - the costs of this upcoming course have been covered by the rescue and are included in his adoption fee. Allergy-wise, Dutton had a full allergen panel completed after experiencing a skin reaction, and is now known to be sensitive to peanuts, soy/legumes, and tumbleweeds (of all things!). He is currently undergoing an immunotherapy treatment to alleviate his reactions to these allergens, which we hope will lessen the need for regular allergy medications in the future. Story
Introducing Georgie!! We describe George as being the best of both worlds. A project dog with unlimited potential. He is not for everyone, but whoever makes a commitment to this boy will not be disappointed. He is loyal, potty trained, and one of the best snuggle monkeys we have ever met. He really does know how to snooze (as seen from the posted posted, lol). He is adorable as he can be and has absolutely zero stranger danger. He loves meeting new people! He loves squeaky toys, kongs, nylabones, and playing tug of war. He loves going for walks and would be a great hiking partner. We'd peg him as having medium energy, and is a blast to hang out with. He's treat motivated and super eager to please, which makes his training super easy!! George is young and needs a gentle guidance and direction to be the best boy he can be. He gets overstimulated by certain things and can sometimes get mouthy when he does. He needs an owner who recognizes his triggers and recognizes the need to manage him around those triggers. He had anxiety around being crated, but has made amazing progress. He now knows that the crate is his safe place, and can often be found snoozing away in his crate. Georgie does best on a chain leash, as he has been known to chew through any other kind. However, with training we have been able to nearly curb this behavior. He is doing extremely well in his foster home and would do best with an owner who is invested in continuing his training. Georgie is a great boy and whatever effort is put forth to helping him reach his full potential will be returned tenfold! Interested in meeting Georgie and giving him the life he deserves? Story
Meet Mallory! Mallory is the dog version of a sprite. She is always happy and excited about life! She will self pacify with her toys, she goes out on a skateboard run daily for 45 minutes (pulls the rider, foster's neighbor) and is very athletic. Mallory's play style is rough, so not all dogs appreciate her energy, but she does very well with like minded dogs. She is fine spending the day at home, excited to see you when you get home and just wants to sit on your lap (she does need to learn about personal space) and watch tv in the evenings. She is high energy when needed but is happy as long as she is with her person. Mallory is a Stanislaus Shelter Survivor. We made contact with her original owners and know a lot about her background. She was an adorable puppy. You can see the love in her eyes. Interested in meeting Mallory? Story
Meet Olive! PLEASE TAKE A CHANCE ON THIS GIRL!! So you want to rescue a dog?? Well Olive is the poster child (DOG) for a dog that finds itself in a rescue. She is not perfect but she has so much love to offer and with a little extra effort you will get the most love you have ever had from a dog. Olive was one of the first dogs we adopted out when we formed our rescue. She has been in a loving home since she was adopted (about 3 years) but she and the other resident dog just cannot get along. The family has tried and tried but the fights are just too stressful for the dogs and the family. They are devastated and have tried really hard to keep Olive. We all agree it is time to rehome her in an environment better suited for her. "Once a SacRDR dog, always a SacRDR dog", so we will need to find a loving new home for Miss Olive. Olive tends to be cautious. She needs time to warm up to new things, environments, and people. Hats and sunglasses are not her favorite thing. Her favorite thing is water – so much so that when she drinks she submerges her entire snout into the bowl. Olive is very food motivated and does well on a leash. She is a 45 pound snug bug when not in motion. Car rides aren’t her favorite due to motion sickness but that is a work in progress, and she’s improving with every outing! Olive would excel with a person or family who has the patience to help her build confidence and beat her fears, and is willing to invest the time and effort. She needs a family that will keep her as an only pet and shower her with love and attention, like the Princess she is and like she deserves. Olive can be walked on leash and is not reactive. So she can go places, she will just never be a social butterfly and will do best hanging at home with her family. She has been muzzle trained, too. Interested in meeting Olive? Let us know! *Call or text 833-473-7364 or *Send an email to sacrdroperations@gmail.com (including your phone number) or *Message us on social media @resilientdogrescue or *Inquire using the Adopt a Pet system - be sure to include your phone number We look forward to hearing from you! Story
Meet Yeti! Yeti does not have any special needs. He does not need an experienced adopter but we will need to teach the new handler how to introduce him to dogs. He is very energetic. The only concern with children is his exuberance. We are working on impulse control. He will just love on kids and jump on them right now. With cats he has a moderate interest in his fosters dog-savvy cats. He has done well with them, but will probably torture (because he won't leave them alone) a less confident cats. Cats should always have an escape route available from all dogs. . Yeti's puppy-like exuberance means not every dog is going to like him. He is learning manners from Banjo and the other resident dogs. He simply wants to play and once the other dogs realize that they are pretty tolerant and will play with him. He has even worn down Stella the senior to the point that she plays a little with him. Yeti is playful, friendly, affectionate, gentle, smart, funny, athletic and his favorite toys are rope toys, bones, squeaky stuffed toys. He LOVES tug of war. He is great at self-play. Give him a toy and he will entertain himself for a long while. Don't give him a toy and he will make something else into one. Training Needs: impulse control. Working on look, sit, stay, leave it. He has begun agility lessons and loves it - very enthusiastic jumper, jumps about 2x as high as needs to. Medical needs: just needs to gain a little weight and should be kept on flea preventive as he does have an allergy to fleas. Activity level: moderate - needs daily walks and play time Favorite activities: long walks, runs, training sessions, couch time, tug of war, keep away/chase games. Interested in meeting Yeti? Let us know! *Call or text 833-473-7364 or *Send an email to sacrdroperations@gmail.com (including your phone number) or *Message us on social media @resilientdogrescue or *Inquire using the Adopt a Pet system - be sure to include your phone number We look forward to hearing from you! Story
Jake is house trained, enjoys neighborhood walks, car rides, golf cart rides, being brushed and petted, getting a bath, and being with you. He is a loyal dog who will lean into you when you pet him and he wags his tail with happiness. The Weimaraner breed is known for their light amber colored eyes - and grey/blue eyes, and Jake has one of each! It was fun for our foster volunteers to see how willing Jake was to try new things - jumping into the neighbor’s golf cart for a ride in Sun City, sampling a morning smoothie, walking into the shower and letting them give him a bath, showing off his obedience commands and his trick `shake`. He was such a good sport about everything he was introduced to. Jake walks nicely on leash, he keeps pace with you, but also likes to occasionally pause and sniff the flowers and bushes along the way. And he likes car rides. The very first time our volunteers opened the car door for Jake, he hopped right in. Jake loved it! While Jake seems to be polite when meeting other dogs on neighborhood walks, he does want to be the only dog in his home and he wouldn’t enjoy visiting dog parks. He would also like not to live with cats. He doesn`t always want to share his things so any children in his new home should be age 10 or older. A consultation will be provided to Jake`s adopter to learn more about him and his individual needs. ***Check out my video by clicking `play` under my photos!***Adoption Fee: $150Monthly Promo Applies

Story
Ashton is a smart and loyal female dog. She is friendly and affectionate, loves to play, and enjoys the company of humans. She would make a great companion to someone who doesn't desire their dog to be a part of every aspect of their social life. Ashton is a homebody. Ashton is independent and knows how to entertain herself. She also enjoys being a couch potato, and cuddling up with her favorite humans is one of her happiest activities! Small children make her very nervous, so she needs to be in a kid free environment. Ashton also is not comfortable with other dogs, so a family looking for a single pet is her best match. Consequently finding a home for her has been a challenge. But we know her people are out there! Ashton is an adult dog. She has plenty of energy and lots of love to give a family. We hope that Ashton will find her forever home with a family who can give her the love and care she deserves. 833-473-7364 leave a vm or text us. Email us at resilientdogrescue@gmail.com.
