Story
***Potential adopters must fill out the questionnaire at the end of the bio and forward it to graciabutter@gmail.com. Meet Bruce! Bruce is a 9-month-old, 52lb, happy-go-lucky, Pitbull Terrier. You would never know by his demeanor that, until he was rescued, he lived in a dirty crate with no bedding for most of his short life. He is so happy and friendly and he thinks that he is a lap dog. Bruce gets along very well with other dogs, both big and small, and he lets the little dogs in his foster home boss him around. He also does well around cats. Bruce is doing well with his potty training and has mastered the dog door. The vet feels that he is a little underweight but otherwise healthy, and is scheduled for his neuter surgery on August 15th. This goofy boy will melt your heart and give you years of love and big sloppy kisses. Animal Rescue Recon ensures that each dog is current on its vaccinations, has been or will be spayed or neutered, and is microchipped to help keep pets out of the shelters and get them back home where they belong. ****Answers to the questionnaire must be emailed to GraciaButter@gmail.com. Please tell us a bit about yourself/family • What city do you live in? • Do you rent or own? • Any children in the home? What ages? List all family members living in the home • What is your work schedule? Family schedule? • How many hours per day would the pet be left alone? • Where is the pet kept when left alone? • Where does the pet sleep? • Any other pets in the home? If so, what type/breed? • How often will the dog be exercised? • If the dog becomes ill or injured are you financially prepared to provide medical care? • Are you prepared to care for this dog for its life span of 10-15 years? • Do you have a training plan? Please explain. • Do you have a plan in place if something happens and you can no longer care for the dog? • Before adoption, an up-close video of your fenced yard will be required - the entire perimeter including gates and the bottom of the fencing. The yard must be free of foxtails and fully secured. • Home check may be performed • If "meet & greet" is scheduled, all household members, dogs included, must be present. Our adoption fee is $350 The fee covers having the dog fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

Story
Chata ( short for Horchata) was named by my son because of his white with tan markings. Chata and his sibs were rescued at a homeless camp at 1mo old. My son took Chata we cared for him, soon realized he had a very sweet disposition, playful; silly, loves to cuddle. We already had 2 small, older dogs, Chata likes them but they can’t be bothered. Chata knows a few commands understands well; is very trainable. My son had to move, can’t have pets in the home. Chata needs to be with someone/family who can give him the attention he needs and deserves for an active dog. He is 1 yr, 10mos, @68 lbs. I know Chata will bring much joy, love & smiles to your family! ❤️

Story
Meet *Macaron COOKIE COOKIES! Everyone loves cookies, but Macaron’s mix of sass and sweetness is whatmost cookie lovers are looking for in their treats! Macaron’s friends call him Mac and he is 31 lbs of quirky Pit/Shitzhu mix. His sidehustles include talking to the moon and soaking up long ear scratches like a pro.Believe me, he would take those ear scratches all day long. Macaron is 2 years old andlooking for just a little help (and lots of treats of course) when it comes to things likewalking on a leash but is ready and willing to be the best companion for those longwalks together or just being your ultimate Netflix and chill buddy! A few things to know about Macaron that will help when making him a member of the family: Because he would rather chase than cuddle, small critters would be better off outside the home.He is a little shy with men at first, but if they’ve got a treat, they will be friends in no time(seriously, under 5 minutes!).Kids over 5 and other dogs? Let’s have a party! He loves to be a part of a team!Loud noises and thunderstorms? Not his jam, but he feels so safe with his people. Mac’s dream home? Someone who’s patient, loves to train (bonus points for treat-giving!), and has lots of time for belly rubs and adventures. He is currently chilling infoster care near Oakland, CA, just waiting to meet his forever family. Ready to makesome sweet memories and create some Mac Magic together? Shoot an email tobeourpet@gmail.com and let’s make it official! #AdoptMac #MacaronMagic #PawsomePal   GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Yes, we think so Crate Trained?: Yes Leash Trained?: Yes Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Chases Good with dogs?: Yes Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: No regular adoption fee applies Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee.
