GIVEN. AWAY. AS. A. TIP. Is that what this world has come to? Well this person had no idea what to do with me, he couldn't just set me loose so he drove to a breeder and gave me to them. oh boy. Well guess what? After a while they didn't want me either because they couldn't sell me (so many terrible people out there) and they were gonna dump me at the pound. 😭😭 What were the chances of a black mixed breed dog getting out of that place alive? SLIM TO NONE This nice rescue stepped up and promised to find me a HOME, a place where I will be wanted, loved and never treated like an object to be traded/sold again! 💓😇 I've got a stunning black coat and surely will be the envy of your neighbors and friends! I would make an active person a great running/hiking partner, am great with other dogs, love to cuddle and snuggle, walk superb on a leash, am house and crate trained and I just love everyone! Hello Sweet Humans my name is BENTLEY! I am a 6 years YOUNG Sweet and Loveable Pittie boy who got dumped at the pound and I was in really BAD SHAPE. My former owner lived in a homeless encampment and I was constantly attacked by other dogs and my wounds were never ever treated and were super infected when I got put into that awful place. But I was LUCKY because this rescue got me and rushed me to the emergency vet and if not for them I wouldn't be alive right now-so I am so very THANKFUL to them and to you, all of the people who volunteer, foster, adopt, donate and share the posts! I am basically a big lap dog, sleep in my crate and I prefer snuggling on the couch over adventuring. Someone awful person let me get pregnant and then decided they didn't want to deal with me so they took me to the worst possible place on earth...THE POUND! Does anyone care that all of SoCal is in a CRISIS with the amount of animals being DUMPED? Nope-not a care in the world! I was put into a teeny shower stall because there is NO ROOM for any more animals (Hey head of Animal Control/ The Mayor-WHY are you not enforcing the mandatory spay/neuter ordinance...this is on YOU) and I gave birth to my 7 babies there and we all got really sick and they were going to kill us On a wing and a prayer this rescue came and got us all to the vet WHEW! HOW LUCKY ARE WE? My babies are all getting adopted but I need somewhere to stay until I find a place or maybe YOU just want to ADOPT me? I'd be best as the only dog for now, am house and crate trained, and so very sweet and thankful to be ALIVE. Luckily, we got her out of there and started her rode to recovery. Our initial assessment of this girl revealed a heartbreaking discovery: She was missing her tongue. We will never know what she went through, but it’s been our mission to get her back to a healthy state where she can thrive with a forever family. After months in foster care, she is ready for her forever family! Despite her past, Penelope LOVES people. She wants to spend all of her time cuddling with her people. When she’s not snuggling with you, she will wander away to sunbathe in the backyard and then take a nap in her crate. Penelope absolutely loves spending time with other dogs. She has been thriving in her foster home with both a small and big dog. One of her favorite activities is welcoming all the pups over for a play date… she immediately wants to play with her friends! While it’s easier for her to play with other large breed dogs, she is great with smaller breeds too. While she’s a big fan of other dogs, no kitties for Miss P, please.
