Story
Gunner is a 1yr old male XL American Bully. He loves to run and play with just about any ball you will throw...plays fetch really well in short spurts. He has had a female 6yr old border collie companion since birth. They do well together but he knows she is the alpha. He is a bully breed so I would recommend a safe slow introduction to any other pets but he has never shown aggression with pets or kids. I have 3 kids from 3 to 11 and have a housefull of kids regularly. Really great with kids. He needs attention and thinks he is an 80lb lap dog. Our family is really going to miss him but we have to rehome him due to selling our house and relocating. We are hoping to find him a loving home with space to play catch and has the time to show him the attention he needs. His favorite things are balls, balls, and more balls. Loves any and all treats and has had a diet of 95% Nutro Natures Choice and some leftovers rarely.

Story
Very sweet dog. Excellent with children and all people. Loves to cuddle and will match family’s energy. Very tolerant of energetic children and strangers. Lives with cats and has been good around small animals. Is NOT good with dogs and needs work on exposure to dogs and walking manners. Eager to please. Happy to cuddle or play. Acts like a gigantic lap cat. Family has special needs children that have since become more difficult to care for and keep safe. The home is no longer suitable for a dog and we are seeking to rehome him somewhere safe and loving.

My Adoption Fee is Waived!Hi, I`m Sugar! I`m as sweet as my name. I LOVE to cuddle! Did you know I have a PhD in napping? Even though I`m great at relaxing on the couch, I do love a daily walk, gotta get the latest neighborhood news. I would do best in a home as the only animal because let`s be honest, I deserve to be spoiled with all the attention. No cats, they`re too much fun to bark at and chase.I need a dedicated and patient adopter willing to work with me. I have a hard time meeting strangers, food helps, my absolute favs are bananas and chicken. I`m extremely food motivated so that helps with training. If you`re a homebody, that might be even better so we can just snuggle all the time.I`m not sure how I would be with kids, but probably older teens because I don`t have any idea about personal space. My over excitement and tank stature could knock a kid down.Email my foster mom Megan at megansfosterdogs@gmail.com if you need some extra Sugar in your life! She’s short. She’s built like a picnic basket. She knows how to two-step. Her name is Sugar. “Well, my dad was a meatball and my mom was a cowgirl,” Sugar explained. “I had identity issues for a while, as you can imagine, but then I realized that it’s okay to be different. We’re all different, and we’re all worthy of love.” However, other dogs aren’t sure what to make of her meatball and cowgirl heritage. “They look at me weird, so then I look at them weird, and it’s a whole thing,” Sugar told us, sighing. “I think it would be best for everyone if I just went to a home with people and no dogs. I also don’t want to go to a dog park because they’ll start calling me Yeehaw Marinara, and again, it’s a whole thing.” “Due to my meatball genetics, I literally have to have a snack every 30 seconds to keep my blood sugar from dropping too low, so that’s why my name is Sugar,” Sugar said. (Our vets told us that this is absolutely not true, so please do not be fooled.) She first came to our shelter on Jan. 23, 2023.

Story
Kola and Kricket are not just any dogs; they are a bonded pair duo with a story that deserves to be told. After being adopted in 2016, they spent eight wonderful years in a loving home. Sadly, their world was turned upside down when their beloved owner passed away, leading them back to the shelter and leaving them searching for a chance at a new beginning. At 13 years old, Kola has seen a lot in his life. He may be a senior, but his spirit is as vibrant as ever. With a heart full of love, he craves connection and is always eager to engage with those around him. Kola is a gentle giant, known for his playful nature and his love of belly rubs. He embodies the resilience that comes with time, reminding us all that joy can be found no matter the circumstances.Kricket, his devoted sister, is 11 years old and has a calm demeanor that perfectly complements Kola`s playful energy. While she may take a little longer to warm up, once she does, her affection knows no bounds. Kricket has stood by Kola’s side through thick and thin, offering him comfort and companionship throughout their journey. She is a testament to the bond that can only exist between a bonded pair, and together, they have faced life`s challenges head-on.Kola is Kricket`s main squeeze, but we recently introduced her to some other calm male and female dogs and she did just fine.   Check out her playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!
