He had severe skin irritation issues that resulted in him losing a lot of his fur. You would have a hard time recognizing him now; after a series of medicated baths, good quality food and lots of TLC, his fur has nearly all grown back and his shiny black coat is nothing short of luxurious. Jax is around 6 years old, and he’s the perfect balance of playful energy and a mellow vibe. Hello All. While on a weekend getaway in Palm Springs area, I found a dog limping and panting on the side of the road near Cabazon Outlets. As I was on vacation, I contacted Animal Services and passed this sweet angel to them in hopes of finding his owner. I tracked his hold period in fear that he would land in a kill shelter….NO WAY, THIS BABY BOY IS TOO SWEET AND SPECIAL! When I could, I grabbed him from the shelter and brought him home to find him a FUREVER HOME. He gets neutered on 10/10/2024 and will be ready to go to his new home shortly after. This boy is 83lbs of TOTAL LOVE! He loves his belly to be rubbed and to be near his HOOMAN. Rarely barks and is not agressive at all. My dogs bark and bark and bark at home and he just lays there and looks at them with the Are we Done? If we could keep him, we would be have too many doggies already. Please take a moment and look at those sweet loving eyes and bring him home to his FurEver home….he is precious and deserving!

I was unable to upload photos from my cellphone, but Spirit is a handsome dog. She is a little over 4 years old, and we acquired her from Pasadena Humane. She is very good with strangers and children, and has no bite history. Unfortunately when we got her we did not know that she was reactive to other dogs (and squirrels). I am 80 and my wife is 77, and we are reluctant to walk her since we cannot risk falling if she pulls in reaction to another dog encountered on a walk. We think she is just a "friendly greeter" with other dogs since she has no history of biting them. We also think she is just bored since we cannot offer her exercise. For this reason we are suggesting a younger person or family (probably with no other pets in the home) with energy to walk her, and preferably with some experience in dealing with a reactive dog. With these criteria met, Spirit would make an excellent and loving companion.

Dottie was found as a stray here in Burbank. We recieved a call that Dottie was in someone`s yard and one of our Animal Control Officers was able to drive over and bring her to safety here at the shelter. We assumed she was someone`s backyard dog that simply got out however she didn`t have any identifying information and nobody came to claim her. Dottie is shy but is VERY SWEET. Almost too sweet at times and loves to be attached at the hip to her people--unfortunately this has resulted in seperation anxiety and Dottie needs someone with her at all times. She became destructive and barks when left alone as we recently learned when Dottie spent some time in a foster home. We also learned that Dottie is hesitant to walk up and down stairs and would do best either in a home that is a single story or someone willing to train her that there is nothing to be afraid of and build her confidence around stairs. She likely will need everything training (potty, obedience etc.) as well, as most shelter strays do. Furthermore we are not sure about other dogs (we have introduced her to our Dogs Playing for Life Playgroup but she is a very shy girl and we are still assessing her as far as living with other dogs), but a meet and greet is required if there are already dogs in the adopter`s household. She is curious about others but we haven`t quite found the right fit that causes her to play just yet. She might do best as the only animal. NO CATS/SMALL ANIMALS PLEASE.Dottie has shown us that she can be selective toward people. It will be required that all family household members meet Dottie prior to adoption to be sure everyone can live in harmony.
