Story
Meet River 💙 Born around December 22, 2025, River is an absolute heart-stealer—and a certified snuggly burrito. He’s the kind of puppy who happily tucks himself into your arms, lets out a content little sigh, and makes you wonder how something this cute can even be real. Truly, he might be the cutest thing ever. River came from an unwanted litter and spent the very beginning of his life in deplorable and unsafe conditions. Thankfully, that chapter was short-lived. The Misfit Ranch stepped in, rescued River and his siblings, and gave him the chance every puppy deserves: safety, stability, and love. He’s now thriving in a wonderful foster home and soaking up all the good stuff. His mama is a very sweet pit bull, and while dad is unknown, River’s personality shines bright. He is: Great with kids Friendly with other dogs Young enough to learn to be cat-friendly Incredibly snuggly and affectionate Doing great on a solid puppy routine Well-socialized and eager to learn We estimate River will grow to about 60 pounds, making him the perfect medium-large companion for couch cuddles, daily walks, and being your constant little shadow. He would do best in a home where someone is around most of the day to provide the guidance, consistency, and love that help a puppy grow into a confident, happy dog. River is the kind of puppy who makes everything feel softer and sweeter just by being near. If you’re looking for a resilient, loving pup who’s ready to curl up with you and never look back, River is ready to roll straight into your heart. 💙🐾

Meet Petey Buttons 🤍 Approx. 1 year old • ~60 lbs • Certified Sweet Goober Petey Buttons is the kind of pittie that makes people fall in love with the breed all over again. He is pure sugar in dog form—happy, affectionate, and just a little bit goofy in the best way. He was this close to being named Piggy, thanks to his absolutely adorable nose, but Petey Buttons stuck… and honestly, it fits him perfectly. His markings are next-level cute, and his personality matches. Petey lives for playtime, snuggles, and being near his people. He’s the kind of dog who wakes up genuinely excited to be alive—and makes sure you feel that joy too. Petey found himself overlooked at an overcrowded shelter for far too long (and we all know what that can mean). That’s when The Misfit Ranch stepped in—and we’re so glad we did. Since then, Petey has shown us exactly who he is: 💛 Gets along great with everyone 🐾 Loves walks, playtime, and ALL the snuggles 🧠 Eager to please and very trainable (just a little green!) 💤 Sleeps in his crate all night like a champ 💋 Greets the morning with kisses—every single day Petey is a happy, affectionate, people-loving boy who is going to thrive with some basic training, structure, and a whole lot of love. He’s ready to be someone’s best friend, couch buddy, walking partner, and biggest fan. We can’t wait for you to meet him. Trust us—you’re going to fall hard. 💕

Story
Meet Carl 🤍 A Gentle Giant with a Story—and a Whole Lot of Love to Give Carl is a strikingly handsome tuxedo pit bull with the kindest eyes and the softest soul. When he arrived at the shelter, his future looked uncertain. He had a noticeable limp, patchy missing fur, was underweight, and his teeth told the story of a life that hadn’t been very kind. Because of all that, the shelter believed Carl was a much older senior dog with significant medical needs—exactly the kind of dog who struggles the most in a shelter environment. But when we looked into Carl’s eyes, we didn’t just see a dog in need. We saw gentleness. And we knew a shelter was no place for a dog like him. So The Misfit Ranch stepped up, pulled Carl from the shelter, and placed him into a loving foster home where he could finally be evaluated and cared for properly. And that’s when Carl surprised everyone. At the vet, we learned that the “severe arthritis” thought to come from old age was actually the result of a badly broken bone from long ago that healed a little… wonky. It gives Carl a unique, endearing walk—but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. Truly. We’ve watched this same dog casually hop up onto a fence and balance on the beam just to see what was on the other side (don’t worry—he didn’t go anywhere, just satisfying his curiosity). Even more surprising? Carl isn’t a super senior after all. He’s about 8 years old. Not old—just experienced. He’s lived a rough life, and his body shows it, but his heart? Completely intact. Despite everything he’s been through, Carl is pure sweetness. He’s a calm, gentle giant who loves pets, snuggles, and being close to his people. He does great with other dogs and has a wonderfully chill demeanor—like a retiree who’s seen it all and is now perfectly content to relax, soak up affection, and enjoy the quiet comforts of home. He's about 45 pounds, and we're still working on fattening him up. Carl isn’t asking for much. Just a safe place. Soft beds. Kind humans. And the chance to finally live the peaceful, loved life he’s always deserved. And we are 100% committed to making that happen. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a steady presence, and a dog who will love you with his whole heart—Carl is waiting.

Story
I got him when he was six weeks old from my best friend whose boyfriend had a litter at the time. He’s been raised around my two other small dogs. He is very friendly, loving and does very good with kids. I hate to rehome him because I’ll miss him so much but I am relocating and I’ll be traveling a lot with my job and I won’t be able to give him all the love and attention that he deserves. He welcomes you every time you come home with the toy in his mouth and his tail waving hello. He would be a great addition to any home. Just praying that it’s loving. And he just turned one August 8 of 2024.

Story
We are networking Zoe for a good friend. Zoe’s story began behind a liquor store, where she had been abandoned, tied up in an alley with nothing but her bed. Left alone and confused, she eventually chewed through the leash and wandered through an alley and a nearby parking lot until she found her way to a local bar. There, the patrons offered her scraps, but no one could give her a home. 767306723.jpg123_1.jpg123_1 (1).jpg Luckily, our friend saved Zoe. After just a couple of days, she began jumping into the car on her own and walking happily on a leash after being hesitant about these new experiences. She is a sweet girl, eager to understand her new environment. She has puppy energy, but she is still relatively mellow. Zoe is around two years old. She was vetted during this time and gradually introduced to the routines of life with a guardian. She learned to ride in a car, sleep indoors, get baths, and go on regular walks. Always with a sweet temperament. She also walked alongside my dogs with a separate handler, not too interested in interacting with the other dogs, just doing her own thing at her own pace. Now, Zoe is fully vaccinated, spayed, and ready for a family. She’s been in boarding for the past two months, and her personality has really started to shine. Here’s how the staff describe her: “Zoe has a lot of personality. She loves to run around and zoom in the yard. She lets out little inquisitive, playful barks when she gets jealous of other dogs doing something she’s not. She keeps herself entertained in her outdoor kennel, happily playing with her bone and jolly ball. She’s full of puppy energy. She’s just begun settling into her indoor kennel. She no longer whines, howls, or barks much when she goes inside.” Now that Zoe has healed from her spay surgery, her socialization is the next step. All signs point to her being a happy, mild mannered, adorable gal. To schedule a meet and greet, or for more information, please contact her foster mom, Yvette at 310-897-8369 or KindBeachLife@gmail.com

Story
April has been waiting for her forever. She is about one and a half years old, spayed, fully vetted, and overflowing with love. But what makes April special is not just her good health or her beautiful soul, it is her story. April was found wandering the streets of San Bernardino with her little pug friend by her side. They had each other, facing the world together. When help finally came, her pug friend was adopted almost immediately. April watched her friend leave, happy for them, but she stayed behind. And she is still waiting. Despite everything she has been through, April has never let go of her gentle heart. She is sweet and affectionate, the kind of dog who leans into you just a little longer, as if memorizing the feeling of being loved. She is wonderful with people of all ages and especially kind with children. She has been around cats and even chickens and has shown nothing but calm curiosity and respect. April loves going for walks and has even been on hikes where she happily explored the world at your side. But at the end of the day, her favorite place is right next to you. She is just as content snuggled up on the couch, soaking in quiet moments and soft affection. With other dogs, April truly shines. She is exceptional, kind, patient, and friendly, the type of dog who makes everyone around her feel safe. She does not demand attention, she simply hopes for it. April is not looking for perfection. She is not asking for much. She just wants a home where she will not be left behind again. A couch to curl up on. A hand to hold. A family who will choose her and mean it. She has already proven how much love she can give. Now she is waiting for someone to give that love back. April is ready. Ready to belong. Ready to be chosen. Ready to finally go home.

Currently located in Iowa but available for transport to California.     Fauna is so sweet! Huge cuddler! If she could she would stay in your arms and lap. She is very much a by your side kind of dog and doesn't like being without her people or without another dog. She would do wonderful with a family but she will connect to one person the most.       She loves other dogs! She would do okay in a house with cats as long as she was socialized more with them. She is very smart! Knows sit and her name. Fauna is very treat and praise motivated!  ##1756700##
