Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.  This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday,November 2nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.     Adoption Fee: $500   Prada is an 8-month old brindle whom we saved from the shelter as a newborn and adopted out. Her adopter had a quickly deteriorating medical condition arise and wanted the absolute best for this gal, so we said of course we'd care for this bundle of love again and find her a perfect forever home. Named after the fashion house, Prada comes with a one-of-a-kind designer coat complete with white fur collar and gloves.   From the foster family: Prada a very happy young lady. Her tail is always wagging. She loves people and gets on with humans big and small, young and old. She also really enjoys having a fur-sibling. Our other foster, a 2yo Shephard, and her play together beautifully throughout the day.   Prada is housetrained and knows some basic commands. She sleeps well through the night and allows us to wake-up slowly in the morning. We get up about 7am and head outside for playtime and potty, followed by breakfast. Lots of fun activity during the day and also downtime while we're working, followed by dinner. She's a peaceful office-mate. Lights out about 10pm.   Prada likes plushy toys best. Not a chewer of furniture. Does fine at home when we have to go out (has access to a few rooms and the yard).   Prada's well socialized. She been on college campuses brightening the days of students studying for exams, done yappy-hours at corporations bringing joy at the end of long work-days, and greets her foster sister for school pick-up with all her friends around to say 'hi' and give pets. She can be silly, too, and loves rolling over for belly rubs.   Prada's mom is a 40-lb brindle. Never met the dad. Prada's currently 55lbs. She enjoys daily walks/runs and adventure outings. She's bright and strong and should make for a good training partner. Prada rides well in the car. Prada would enjoy being a playful companion to your friendly dog, or could be solo in a home where love and attention is doted on her. Adopters should have had a dog in the last five years and be committed to completing training classes so Prada can be her best self.  Kids in the home should be over the age of 8 and respectful. When you adopt from DPS Rescue you get a foster write-up from people who have lived with and cared for the dog you're adding to your family. We get to know their personality and can provide you with their routine, habits and insights into their nature. You'll start off on the right foot (er, paw) from day one! You're helping clear the shelters because DPS pulls great dogs from overcrowded shelters and gives them time to decompress at home and let their personalities shine through. We socialize, vaccinate, spay/neuter, feed and care for our foster dogs all along the way of getting to know them so that you can read in-depth profiles and make an informed decision. It's a lot of hard work - but worth it! Thanks for adopting from DPS and supporting the efforts of dogs finding their forever homes. November 2, 2024, 6:03 pm

Story
Love dogs but not the cost of owning one? HAVE WE GOT A DEAL FOR YOU! We are looking for a long term foster for Camilla as the cost of her food and medication is prohibitive for adopters. Camilla is allergic to just about everything so she takes an allergy pill every morning and eats special food which is quite expensive. We are looking for someone in town with a landscaped yard (she’s allergic to dust) and someone who is home a good deal if the time. We will provide all food, medication, and veterinary care. We will also provide a crate as she must be crated when you leave because of separation anxiety. Camilla is crate trained and potty trained. Camilla is so so sweet and gets along with other dogs and kids. She hasn’t been around cats but I expect it’s not a good idea.   If you’re interested in helping Camilla please fill out our foster application. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/BPNovember 2, 2024, 11:58 pm
