Story
Moose is the sweetest big baby... he is incredibly affectionate and loves to cuddle, especially in the morning. He is very smart, intuitive and learns quickly. He is not high energy but he does love exploring on walks or digging for rocks in the lake. He does great on and off leash, he doesn't wander and has great recall. Moose is potty trained and doesn't mind being in a crate for short periods. He loves car rides and has never been destructive in any way. He seems to do great with cats but needs to be the only dog in the home. He is 99.99% the most perfect dog I've ever fostered, he just can't be around other dogs or kids. Moose is about 80lbs (mostly his big head!)

Story
Senior Alert!! Sherman is 11.5 yrs old (DOB 08.30.12). He’s the absolute best boy with other dogs of all sizes. He does prefer a home without any cats. Sherman would do well in a home with older children. He is an absolute love, who is happy cuddling up on the couch with his humans and snuggling, but despite his age he also LOVES his daily walks. Sherman is now almost completely deaf, and has trouble seeing in the dark because of changes in his eyes due to age. But, he’s still extremely strong when on walks or even playing. He knows basic obedience commands and is crate trained, house trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He would do best in a home with somebody who is home almost always as he does have some separation anxiety. Sherman is not a SacRDR rescue dog. He is one of our foster's rehoming projects. She is a Vet Tech and is in the process of starting her own rescue. We fully back her and her dogs. We have collaborated on rehoming several dogs with her and the dogs are stable grounded animals. If you are interested in Sherman we will refer you to our foster. An application and home inspection will be required. Interested in meeting Sherman? Story
Meet Dutton! Sweet Dutton is looking for his forever home! He was pulled from the Stockton Shelter at approximately 4 months old after being found running stray with another puppy, and had a bit of a rough start after developing a vaccine reaction that resulted in temporary distemper symptoms. Luckily with time and care he recovered quickly, and has been fairly healthy ever since! Dutton loves his people. He lives with dogs his size of both sexes; when introduced properly he can be playful and he loves his canine foster siblings. Cats and small dogs are not a fit. Dutton is listed as 'Special Needs' due to allergies and anxiety. After all he's been through he's an extra sensitive soul, and is beginning a behavioral training course with a reputable trainer based out of the Sacramento area to work through those anxious tendencies and help him learn to feel safe and secure in new situations. He would do best with a foster or adopter who worked from home (or spends time at home frequently) as he is a bit of a velcro dog. The ideal foster or adopter for Dutton will be willing to participate in training with him - the costs of this upcoming course have been covered by the rescue and are included in his adoption fee. Allergy-wise, Dutton had a full allergen panel completed after experiencing a skin reaction, and is now known to be sensitive to peanuts, soy/legumes, and tumbleweeds (of all things!). He is currently undergoing an immunotherapy treatment to alleviate his reactions to these allergens, which we hope will lessen the need for regular allergy medications in the future. Story
Introducing Georgie!! We describe George as being the best of both worlds. A project dog with unlimited potential. He is not for everyone, but whoever makes a commitment to this boy will not be disappointed. He is loyal, potty trained, and one of the best snuggle monkeys we have ever met. He really does know how to snooze (as seen from the posted posted, lol). He is adorable as he can be and has absolutely zero stranger danger. He loves meeting new people! He loves squeaky toys, kongs, nylabones, and playing tug of war. He loves going for walks and would be a great hiking partner. We'd peg him as having medium energy, and is a blast to hang out with. He's treat motivated and super eager to please, which makes his training super easy!! George is young and needs a gentle guidance and direction to be the best boy he can be. He gets overstimulated by certain things and can sometimes get mouthy when he does. He needs an owner who recognizes his triggers and recognizes the need to manage him around those triggers. He had anxiety around being crated, but has made amazing progress. He now knows that the crate is his safe place, and can often be found snoozing away in his crate. Georgie does best on a chain leash, as he has been known to chew through any other kind. However, with training we have been able to nearly curb this behavior. He is doing extremely well in his foster home and would do best with an owner who is invested in continuing his training. Georgie is a great boy and whatever effort is put forth to helping him reach his full potential will be returned tenfold! Interested in meeting Georgie and giving him the life he deserves? Story
Meet Mallory! Mallory is the dog version of a sprite. She is always happy and excited about life! She will self pacify with her toys, she goes out on a skateboard run daily for 45 minutes (pulls the rider, foster's neighbor) and is very athletic. Mallory's play style is rough, so not all dogs appreciate her energy, but she does very well with like minded dogs. She is fine spending the day at home, excited to see you when you get home and just wants to sit on your lap (she does need to learn about personal space) and watch tv in the evenings. She is high energy when needed but is happy as long as she is with her person. Mallory is a Stanislaus Shelter Survivor. We made contact with her original owners and know a lot about her background. She was an adorable puppy. You can see the love in her eyes. Interested in meeting Mallory? Story
Meet Olive! PLEASE TAKE A CHANCE ON THIS GIRL!! So you want to rescue a dog?? Well Olive is the poster child (DOG) for a dog that finds itself in a rescue. She is not perfect but she has so much love to offer and with a little extra effort you will get the most love you have ever had from a dog. Olive was one of the first dogs we adopted out when we formed our rescue. She has been in a loving home since she was adopted (about 3 years) but she and the other resident dog just cannot get along. The family has tried and tried but the fights are just too stressful for the dogs and the family. They are devastated and have tried really hard to keep Olive. We all agree it is time to rehome her in an environment better suited for her. "Once a SacRDR dog, always a SacRDR dog", so we will need to find a loving new home for Miss Olive. Olive tends to be cautious. She needs time to warm up to new things, environments, and people. Hats and sunglasses are not her favorite thing. Her favorite thing is water – so much so that when she drinks she submerges her entire snout into the bowl. Olive is very food motivated and does well on a leash. She is a 45 pound snug bug when not in motion. Car rides aren’t her favorite due to motion sickness but that is a work in progress, and she’s improving with every outing! Olive would excel with a person or family who has the patience to help her build confidence and beat her fears, and is willing to invest the time and effort. She needs a family that will keep her as an only pet and shower her with love and attention, like the Princess she is and like she deserves. Olive can be walked on leash and is not reactive. So she can go places, she will just never be a social butterfly and will do best hanging at home with her family. She has been muzzle trained, too. Interested in meeting Olive?
