Story
💎 Meet Opal: The Sparkling Bundle of Joy! 💎 Opal is a one-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix with a heart as big as her smile! She’s full of vim and vinegar and absolutely thrilled to meet new people – sometimes a little too thrilled (we’re working on that exuberant greeting style! 😂). Her joyful wiggles are hard to contain, but they’re a testament to her boundless enthusiasm and love for life. Opal is a star pupil, currently rocking Level Three in our four-level obedience program. She’s smart, eager to learn, and loves to channel her energy into playing fetch with her favorite toys. While Opal adores all people, she would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can be the center of your world. Her affectionate, playful nature makes her a delightful companion who will fill your days with laughter and love. If you’re ready for a loving, energetic, and joyful pup who’ll be your wiggly sidekick, Opal is ready to shine in her forever home! 💖🐾 🏡 Ideal Home: A loving person or family who will enjoy her enthusiasm, continue her training, and let her be the star of the show.

Story
Hello there, I`m Radar! I`m a bit of an independent spirit, but I love a good laugh and a playful romp. My curiosity is as boundless as my energy, which is perfect for my love of hiking. I`m a great walker, by the way. I wasn`t always in the shelter, you know. I lived in a magical forest, filled with enchanted creatures. One day, I followed a rainbow-colored butterfly, and it led me here! I think it wanted me to find a special human to share my magic with. I`m smart, funny, and I promise to bring a spark of magic into your life. Will you be my special human?

Story
Hi there! My name is Zeus and I am a loving, happy-go-lucky boy with lots of love to give. I am 100% loyal to my humans and love to show them affection. I am gentle, so you don't have to worry about me playing too rough - I am just a big ball of love and joy! I am very athletic and love going on walks, but I am also a big couch potato and love to snuggle up with my humans and get lots of kisses. I am very well-behaved, as I am house-trained and know some commands, and I am more than happy to learn more. I love kids and other dogs, and I am sure I will love you too! If you are looking for a loyal, funny, and loving companion, I am the one for you! I am a healthy adult, but I am unsure of my exact age as I was a stray. Regardless, I have plenty of love to give, and I am anxious to find my furever home. If you think we are a match, please come and meet me today!

Story
Meet Roster, a lively 4-year-old ball of energy with a heart full of love! Rescued from the euthanasia list at the Turlock shelter, Roster is now looking for his forever home. He's great with other dogs but needs a slow introduction due to his playful nature. He's also wonderful with kids, but older children are recommended as he sometimes forgets his own strength.

Story
Lucy is the sweetest dog I have ever had when it comes to people. I will be honest to say she is not good with other dogs or cats. I will add, it appeared she got comfortable with the chickens all around her, and the pigs too, and she didn't bother them.

Story
Johny (aka Journey) has had quite the "journey" making his way to WAR's care. WAR first came in contact with Journey when he escaped from a car and refused to come back to his owner. WAR responded to a plea on social media and was able to trap him. After trapping him, we found that he had a severe case of foxtails embedded in the webbing of his feet. WAR agreed to have him treated by a vet and he had surgery to remove the foxtails from his paws. After surgery, WAR microchipped him and returned him to his owner, who was staying with a relative at the time. The owner was advised that Journey had just undergone surgery on his paws and needed to be kept indoors and his paws treated daily during his recovery. WAR followed up later and learned that the owner and his relative had turned Journey back outside and he was not receiving the post operative care he needed. Carol went back to the residence to offer her services and learned that the owner had left the residence on foot with Journey and no one knew where they were. It was learned that the owner was homeless and had only been at the residence temporarily.  After a great deal of time, WAR received a call from a shelter in Oregon. They had picked up Journey and had been unable to reach the registered owner. WAR was listed as a secondary contact, so they reached out to us. We quickly sent a plea out to social media to get help transporting Journey from the shelter in Oregon back to WAR. With the help of our amazing community of supporters, we were successful in bringing him back to us.  Fast forward to May/June of 2024..Journey was very happy to be back with us. He was very sweet, loving and playful, but was in need of some obedience training to work on his basic commands, recall and leash training. We put another plea out on social media for a local trainer who would be willing to volunteer their time to work with Journey and were quickly contacted by Tina Garcia from Goin to the Dogs who graciously volunteered her time. The results were outstanding!  Journey is now ready to be adopted into his forever home. He is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. If you have any questions about Journey, you can send an email to wiltonanimalrescue@gmail.com.
