***At this time we are ONLY doing adoptions within the immediate Sacramento area. Please fill out an adoption application on our website.*** My name is LOLA, aka LalalalaLola, Lolita Mamacita, Lowes, Lolo. (My humans love nicknames.) I answer to all of them, especially if there's food or a rubdown involved. My humans called me Lola because I am low to the ground. I think I'm just aerodynamic. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I’m 9 years old! I came to my humans with four itty bitty puppies, which I cared for and played with, until they got their new homes. I am proud to say I raised beautiful, if rambunctious, pups! My perfect day is: get up; stretch in my crate; eat breakfast; go outside and potty; sunbathe in the backyard (I know all the best places to go as the sun moves); hangout and watch TV with my humans for awhile (especially Animal Planet, I sleep if the news is on); hang out in my crate until the big guy gets home; go for a walk; eat dinner; go potty and watch some TV before bed. I am learning good manners. I know sit, down, leave it and off. I obey about 80% of the time. I also know to wait for my food and to wait to be invited in the house or out the gate. I am a work in progress. With consistency I'm a fast learner and love to make my humans happy. I love to fetch exactly 2.5 times, with great enthusiasm. My favorite toy is...I'm not sure. I eat them before I grow to like them. But a frozen cow bone section keeps me happy for months. I love humans of all shapes and sizes. Cuddling is my favorite game. My humans say I can't hold my licker, but I think they secretly love it. It's really hard to keep all my love inside. I gotta let it fly! I prefer to be the only dog in the house. I really like watching them on TV, but don't see the need to share my home with them. With all this love, why would you want more than me? I have a very waggy tail, a happy-go-lucky disposition, and am about 9 years old. Give me a home and I'll give you all my love and my very best efforts to melt your heart! Lola should be the only pet in the house. She prefers to be able to only have to share her love with her humans. 💗💗💗 The adoption fee for Lola is $300 Interested in meeting this dog or another one of our available dogs? Simply complete and submit our adoption application on our website www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org (FROM YOUR HOME COMPUTER, not cell phones, yet! We’re working on that!!) and we will respond to you within 3-5 days. Once a yard check is completed and you’ve passed the adoption process, you’re welcome to meet any of our dogs!!! NorCal Bully Breed Rescue (NBBR) is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread throughout the Sacramento area. We require our adopters to be within a 50 mile radius of us. This is because we need to do a physical yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. (*FaceTime or Skype are NOT acceptable methods of communication regarding yard checks.) We HAVE made exceptions for dogs that have been with us long term, and for senior dogs. We would still need to perform a yard check, and would be happy to do so for a dog that has been passed over repeatedly, but not for dogs that are in high demand. It would need to be to a neighboring state to California. NOT across the country. That would be too much. (*We will NOT be making this exception for puppies or designer breed dogs, so please don’t ask. It’s way too much for us to have to request time off of work and lose pay to drive a dog out of area when we have plenty of great homes in our area wanting to adopt these dogs.) We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and typically range from $200-$500. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary). In the case of designer breed dogs, like French Bulldogs and English Bulldogs, the adoption fee will be significantly higher in order to offset the costs associated with their surgeries, or associated with their demand. Thanks so much for your interest, and we hope we are able to match you up with your next family member!!! Looking forward to your application!!!

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I am Millie! 👋 ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am a very sweet little girl. 🎀 HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am approximately four years old as of May 2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a bully mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh approximately 40 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I happen to think I am pretty darn adorable, and I bet you’ll agree! I am a stocky little low rider with a silver coat, a blocky head, a huge smile, and heart-melting eyes. 😍 WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Eat? Yes, please! I like to eat pretty much anything you offer me, so foster mom says I am currently on a diet (whatever that means). I love my kibble and will gladly accept any treats you’d like to give me. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I have heard foster mom refer to me as a “house hippo.” I am super laid back and easygoing. I am happy just hanging out on the couch cuddling with my people. 🦛 DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day would certainly involve some food, of course. But other than that, any day where I am able to be close to my humans is my dream. If cuddles are on the agenda, I’m all over it! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I enjoy small stuffed animals and benebones. 🧸🦴 DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I do not know any super fancy tricks, but I am very good at the basic “sit.” And I am trainable if food is involved! Let’s give it a try! WHAT SCARES YOU? The only thing that scares me is going into my crate, as it gives me a little anxiety. I would rather be out with my people. 😟 HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I live with an 11-year-old foster sister who always has her friends over. I love all the attention and am definitely a crowd favorite! DO YOU LIKE CATS? I have three cat siblings and I pay them no mind at all. When I am curious, I will give them a sniff and say hello, but otherwise they do not bother me. 🐱 HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I am hanging out with dogs of all sizes at my foster home! Please set me up for success with slow dog introductions. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I would love to be anywhere close to my humans… Ideally close enough that they could rub my belly! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? My back legs are a little bit wonky, but I get around just fine. Overall, I am healthy and happy. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and my foster (human) sister, three resident foster (dog) brothers, and three resident (cat) brothers. My closest companions are the humans. I love hanging out and cuddling with them. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I hang out in my crate unless foster mom is just leaving for a very short time. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate like a good girl. 😴 DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I don’t mind walking on a leash. I don’t need long walks, though. I’m more of a “let’s hang out and cuddle” kind of gal! ☺️ DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? When I have to go in my crate, I am pretty vocal about my displeasure with the situation. I will eventually settle down, but I need to make my feelings known first! 🫢 ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I am very good about letting my humans know that I need to go out to potty! As long as I have regular potty breaks, I won’t have any accidents in the house. Please be patient with me as I learn where and when I will potty when I come to your house. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I am definitely not built for water activities. I should be kept safe from pools and other bodies of water. Remember, they call me a HOUSE hippo… I am not one of those hippos that like the water! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love my foster family for taking such great care of me! They love me and cuddle with me… and FEED ME! 😃 WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I don’t remember exactly what happened, but I ended up in a shelter before I was rescued by NorCal Bully Breed Rescue and placed in my wonderful foster home. I feel safe and happy here, but I would really like to find a home of my own where I will be loved and cuddled forever. Will you please be my forever person? 💕 ⭐️MILLIE’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300.⭐️ If you are interested in MILLIE, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi hi! I am Salt! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am such a sweet girl! 🥰 HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am around three years old as of August 2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a bully mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh a perfect 55 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am black with a white chest and white paws, and a giant happy smile full of love! 😍 WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Oh, I love my yummy kibble, but I won’t turn you down if you want to offer me a tasty morsel from the treat jar as a reward for being such a good girl! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I can be shy when meeting new people, but I am quick to warm up and then I am everyone’s best friend! I love attention and “talk” a lot to make sure that everyone knows I’m supposed to be getting the MOST attention! 🤭 DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day is hanging out with my people and playing with my foster brother, Sage, until we are tired. Then it’s nap time! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I really enjoy bones of all sorts. I also like to play fetch with stuffies that my foster mom throws for me. That is the MOST fun!🧸 DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I will sit like such a good girl in exchange for a yummy treat! I am food motivated, so I would love to learn more tricks if you’d like to feed me more! WHAT SCARES YOU? I am cautious around new people and dogs. With slow introductions, I will figure out that I don’t need to worry about new things, so please show me patience. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes, I have! I have been around some 11-year-olds and I do very well. Because I am a bit uncertain about new things, it is probably best for me to hang out with older kids rather than little ones, since the little ones will not understand my need for taking things slowly. DO YOU LIKE CATS? Oh, no thank you. I am not a fan of cats. 🐱 HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? If you set me up for success with slow, safe introductions, I would love to have a dog to play with. My foster brother and I have lots of fun playing together.🐶 IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? With my forever family and possibly a foster sibling! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? When I was rescued, I had some injuries to my shoulders and pelvis, but those have healed up nicely. When I run, I have a bit of a hitch in my giddy-up, but that doesn’t stop me from having fun! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom, foster sister, their three resident dogs, three resident cats (who I do not like), and another foster dog sister. My closest companion is Sage, my foster brother Rhodesian Ridgeback.💕 WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? When I am home alone, I am either in the kitchen/living room area for short periods of time, or in my X-pen in the garage. No matter where I am, I do not have a problem being alone. I am such a good girl! WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my cozy X-pen in the garage.😴 DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I do not mind walking on a leash. I get a bit overexcited when I see other dogs on a leash, but if you take the time to work with me, I will learn to temper my excitement.🐕‍🦺 DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I am an enthusiastic playmate and sometimes get a little excited, but I'm still learning my boundaries. I prefer to enjoy my meals and bones in peace, and I appreciate when my space is respected during those times. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes! I am house trained and will wait for my foster mom to take me out to go potty. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I do! Sometimes I get to play with water when my mom is washing her car, and that is so much fun! I am also a very good girl when it comes to bath time! 🛁 WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? My foster family has been so wonderful helping me recover from my injuries and helping me not be scared. I am learning what it feels like to be safe and loved, and that’s the most amazing feeling! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I actually don’t remember too much about the “before times.” I got hurt and ended up in a shelter, which wasn’t very fun. But then NorCal Bully Breed Rescue swooped in and got me out of that place so I could heal in a safe, comfortable, loving foster home. Now I am feeling so much better and it is time for me to find my forever family! I would love to meet you and come home with you for cuddles and loves! 💖 ⭐️SALT’S ADOPTION FEE IS $ 100.⭐️ If you are interested in adopting SALT, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? My name is Honey and I am SO sweet. ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am a beautiful and spunky little girl. HOW OLD ARE YOU? My vet estimates I am about three years old, but I’ve been told I look young for my age. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a bully mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh a stocky 50 pounds! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am light tan with white coloring on my chest. I am a little shorty with floppy ears and hazel eyes. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Meal time is my absolute favorite. I love my kibble and I get excited when my foster parents add some chopped cucumber and carrots on top. I enjoy any kind of treat, no matter how big or small. I might be a light peanut butter color but please go heavy when putting peanut butter in my Kong toy! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am the sweetest and most trusting pup. I love to love. I am always in good spirits and am so excited for life. I am looking for my forever family to just hang with me because I love the company of humans. I love to cuddle when my excitement settles but enjoy when a kid matches my energy. I enjoy giving kisses and sometimes mistake my foster humans for a lollipop! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day would be waking up and going right outside to enjoy some sun. After taking care of business, I enjoy having a big breakfast. Next, I would love some cuddles on the couch while watching my human’s favorite show. I like to entertain myself with gnawing on a bone for a while. Then I’d be ready for my afternoon walk if it’s not too hot outside. Finally, back to the couch for more cuddles. I am pretty low maintenance. All I want is the presence of my human. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? My favorite toy is my bone! I get great mental stimulation trying to find the best angle. I enjoy chewing on my toys, so the occasional stuffed toy is fun to tear up! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know basic commands such as “sit,” “lay down,” “leave it,” and “in your crate.” I love to learn because that means more treats. WHAT SCARES YOU? My foster parents say I have a serious case of FOMO- Fear Of Missing Out. I am comfortable with almost everything as long as I am with my family. I can handle fireworks, but prefer to be inside cuddling while they go off. Loud, strange, and silly noises peak my interest more than they frighten me. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I absolutely love kids. They match my excitement! I love any and all humans, especially the tiny ones that are full of energy. The more they laugh, the more I lick! DO YOU LIKE CATS? No, thank you! I was tested with cats and I am not a fan. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like dogs! I truly enjoy the company of my foster brother and I respect his boundaries if he tells me he wants space. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? If I could be anywhere in the world, it would cuddled on the couch in my forever home. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? My health is great! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I spend my days with my foster mom, dad, and canine foster brother. My closest companion is my foster mom. My setup is in her office and we spend all day together when she is working from home. We also spend time watching TV together and playing in the backyard. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? When I’m home alone, I spend my time in my crate in my foster mom’s office. She always makes sure to keep a bone in my crate so I have something to do when I get bored. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I like to sleep in my crate and I love fluffy blankets to cuddle with! DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I love walks so much. I get really excited, but I am learning self control more and more with each walk. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I tend get overly excited around humans. My foster parents taught me to stay down, but I can’t help but smother humans with love when we’re on the couch or bed. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? As long as I am given outside time every few hours, I will always go potty outside! I will hold my potty when my foster parents are at work, which can be long hours. I have never had an accident in my crate. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I am skeptical of bodies of water. I saw my foster brother walk in once, so I dipped my toes in, but that was far enough. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that my foster family gives me lots of attention and love. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I was found wandering the street with a bite wound on my neck and covered in fleas. But I have moved on from those days thanks to NorCal Bully Breed Rescue and my foster family. And now I am SO excited to find a family of my own! Maybe you want to take me home and love me forever? **HONEY’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300.** If you are interested in adopting HONEY, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! My name is Angel. 😇 ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I am a sweet little girl.🎀 HOW OLD ARE YOU? I’m about 1-1/2 years old as of October 2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a pit bull mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I weigh about 40 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? For starters, I’m a tri-pod, which means that I have three legs instead of four! Pretty cool, right? Some say I look like “Pete the Pup” from the Little Rascals, but I have to politely disagree because I’m much cuter! I’m mostly brown with white on my face, chest, and toes. My best feature is my signature brown patch on my right eye. 🐶 WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? Anything. Seriously, I’ll even eat lettuce. 🥬 Somehow, I still manage to keep my girlish figure. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am so sweet and happy ALL the time! I love everyone, I just want to experience ALL the fun things that life has to offer. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day would consist of car rides, playing with my ball and other dogs, car rides, pup cups, car rides and naps. Did I mention I like car rides? 😉🚗 WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Oh boy, my absolute favorite toy is a squishy non-destructible ball. I want my ball with me at all times! If it gets too dirty, I’ll find the nearest bowl of water to wash it off. My ball and I have so much fun together! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know how to catch treats – that was a top priority to learn. I am also learning the command “gentle,” and I figure that’s a great way to get more treats! WHAT SCARES YOU? Not much – except vacuums. When my foster mom vacuums, I’ll wait outside until she’s done. Oh, and I don’t really like being alone. That’s no fun, and I’m all about the fun! 🥳 HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I haven’t been around children yet. DO YOU LIKE CATS? When I was at the store one time, I got to sniff a carrier that had a kitten inside. I was very nice and polite to that kitty, but I have not interacted directly with any yet. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I like other dog friends with proper introductions. I have a high-energy play style and some dogs might not like that, so it will be important that my forever family set me up for success when meeting new dogs. 🐶 IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? On the couch snuggling with my foster mom and my foster brothers. Cuddles are the BEST! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? Excellent! I successfully recovered from surgery to remove my injured hind leg, and now I am the picture of good health! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and my two foster brothers, Buster (pit bull mix) and Oliver (chihuahua mix). I love them both. But my favorite buddy is Buster. I love using him as a pillow. We have a lot of fun together. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I like the comfort of my kennel. My foster mom keeps the room dark with a fan on for white noise. This helps to keep me calm. ☺️ WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? Don’t tell anyone, but I convinced my foster mom to let me sleep on the bed with my foster brothers. But I also don’t mind sleeping in my kennel. 💤 DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I LOVE walking on a leash. I get a little excited, but can you blame me? I can move around pain-free now! But I suppose I do need to work on my leash manners a bit. 🦮 DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? Funny you should ask… I have been known to do a little landscaping in the yard on occasion. I’ve got a pretty good eye for these things, if you ask me! 😜 As I mentioned before, I don’t love being alone for long periods of time, and sometimes I take out my frustrations on my blanket or bed. Oops! 🤭 ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) Yes, I’m potty trained. No issues there! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I do love water! I love to drink it. I love to play in it. I love to wash my toys in it. When it was hot, I could stay in my foster brothers’ pool all day! I even like baths, if you can believe that! 🛁 WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? My foster brothers are the best! I really love cuddling with them. And car rides are my favorite, since they often result in us getting pup cups on the weekends. My foster mom shows me how to be a good girl and I know I am safe with her. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? Oh, I don’t hang on to the past anymore. I ended up in the shelter with an injury to my hind leg, and things were not great until NorCal Bully Breed Rescue came and rescued me from that place. While I have been healing from my surgery, I’ve learned what it is like to have a safe and loving space. And, wow, life with someone loving me is pretty great! I’d really like to find a home where I will be loved forever. Would you please take me home with you? 💕 ⭐️ANGEL’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300.⭐️ If you are interested in adopting ANGEL, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi! I’m Majik! It’s pronounced like “Magic,” because I am kinda magical. ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I’m a darling boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? Estimates say I am about nine years old. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am an American Bully! DNA tests confirmed that I’m 100 percent American Bully, but I don’t let my “purebred” status go to my head… we all knew I was perfect even before the DNA test! HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I’m around 65 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a black coat with a white snout, chest and feet, and because I am a distinguished older gentleman, I also have some salt and pepper accents here and there. I am broad across the chest and medium height, and I only have one eye. More on that later. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like kibble. I also eat any treat you give me, which makes me easier to train. Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?? WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m a happy boy, who wags and wags and wags my tail when I see most humans. Even when I came into the shelter all beat-up and in so much pain, the medical staff commented on how my tail kept wagging and I was so friendly. Oh, and I love walks! At first, I charge along, like I have somewhere important to be, but my foster mom is working on that, and a front-clasp EasyWalk harness is helping. Also, once I do my business, I slow down a lot and really start to just smell the roses— er, grass and bushes. At home, I sleep a lot, because I am so relaxed and because I am a senior guy, who has lived a hard life (on hard surfaces) until now. I also love a good cuddle so much. I just push my enormous head against you and grunt like a pig. It is the cutest. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day would involve lots of movies and TV with my humans; endless snacks; slow, meandering wanders through wide, open spaces without other dogs; followed by naps on a blanket in the sun. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Oh boy, I have just learned how much fun toys are since I have been at my foster home! My absolute favorite toys are soft toys. I could chew those for hours! And I get a yummy frozen Kong at bedtime, which is the best way to end the day, right?! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I sit like a pro and I’m working on other commands like Stay, Wait and Down. I also know Shake. I might be nine years old, but I am smart and very treat-motivated! WHAT SCARES YOU? Other animals. Anything that moves in the distance. Loud roving groups of people. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? No, not yet. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I would have to say “no, thank you” to cats. I am very reactive to anything that moves outside, especially dogs and cats. There is a foster cat inside my home but I am being kept completely apart from her. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I have been through kind of a lot in my many years, and I would like to be the only dog in the house please. There is a foster dog inside my home, but I am being kept completely apart from her. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Wherever you are. And if I’m allowed on your couch, I think that’s gonna be my favorite spot in the house. I love my dog bed, too, though. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I think I am pretty healthy for an older guy. I had my teeth checked recently and there are a few cracked ones, but they said they did not look too bad overall. My foster mom is going to start brushing them soon! My blood panel looked good, too! I am starting to get a little creaky in my joints and so I have a slight limp but I am pretty spry for an older guy. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and her wife, and they have a resident dog and a cat, but I have not met them yet and I don’t know that I ever will. I absolutely adore both my foster moms, but I spend most of my time with one of them, because she works from home and hangs out with me a lot. And she holds a special place in my heart because she’s the one who rescued me from the shelter. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? In the detached garage, where I am also living right now. You can see more below about why I am not crated. I have been trusted to be free when I am alone for almost a month, and I just like to lie around snoring. I am really such a good boy. I do not have separation anxiety and I do not destroy anything while I am out there alone. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep on one of my two beds in the detached garage where I live. My foster mom does not crate me. She did the first night and I slept so well there, because I was exhausted from the shelter. But the second night, when she crated me, I whimpered in the most pathetic way, she couldn’t stand it. I had already been through so much and she had watched me on camera already that day, so she was pretty sure I would not mess anything up if I was free to roam. And she was right! I was a perfect angel and just slept on one of my two beds all night. Oh, did I mention, too, that I snore like a freight train? DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I do! I pull a bit at first but my foster mom is working on that and my harness is helping. DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I don’t know if you can call my reactivity a habit; it’s more like a part of my psyche at the moment. It does mean that I need your help to keep me calm and comfortable on our walks by choosing places that don’t have other dogs around to upset me. My foster mom is working on creating “new emotions” around this. But otherwise, no, I have no bad habits! I might stare at you when you are eating, but you can ignore me and I will give up and go away. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I’m potty-trained and I have not had a single accident! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I do not seem to mind it. I walk through puddles like they are not even there. I stand patiently for a bath and even though my foster mom put a raincoat on me recently to walk in the rain. (I looked so dapper and handsome in it!) I did not seem to mind at all when we both finished the walk soaking wet. Humans can be so cautious! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love their gentle pets, and how much they love and protect me. I get treats and I have a warm (or cool, depending on the time of year), dry, comfy place to sleep! Every day is a new adventure, filled with interesting smells, delicious food and new lessons. I love to learn. Even though I am a senior, I am not set in my ways! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? No one knows exactly, but I came into the shelter with severe trauma that vets determined had been inflicted upon me that day. They suspected a skull fracture and I also had puncture wounds from another dog. My right eye had to be removed and I had callouses all over my legs from having spent long hours lying on hard surfaces. I just wanted somewhere quiet to decompress and recover from everything, and I got it with my foster family. But I cannot live in their garage forever! While I am with them, they are spending tons of time with me, giving me love and training, and peace and quiet. But I do look forward to being inside a house one day. Will you please take me home with you and love me forever? I will be the cuddliest, most grateful creature you have ever known. **MAJIK’S ADOPTION FEE IS $100.00.** If you are interested in MAJIK, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas.
