Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over. At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 28 pounds. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego

Story
Hi there !  have 2 dogs that are great dogs but do not get along anymore, one is 5 the other is 7. Amazing dogs, house trained, know commands etc.  just very sad to see them be in edge towards each other. They have been fine for years but now they just get along and I don’t want to risk any altercation.  They love people so much, and would thrive best in a home with just one dog.  It saddens me to turn them over but they deserve the best and I want to give that to them. Their lives our short and I want them to have the best possible living situation.

Story
Sadly, we are looking to rehome Goku. He does not get along anymore with our other dog. Facts about Zeus - bully mix, 5.5 yrs old ,90lbs - has has all shots and can provide documentation - house trained, command trained, Kennel trained - great with people and children - very cuddly and loves walks - would thrive as a single dog. It saddens us to turn him as we've had him since he was a puppy. He deserve the best and I want to give that to him. Please help if you can.

Story
Goldberry (Goldie) is such a sweet loving girl. She was rescued from the riverside animal “shelter” as a stray. Goldie loves all people, young, old, strangers and friends. Goldie has had some issues with smaller dogs than her. She is fine with male dogs that are her size or larger but for some reason had an issue with small dogs. I have never known a more emotional intelligent dog than Goldie. She is so affectionate and just loves being around people. She would be best I think as the only dog in a home. Goldie is fine being left alone as long as she has free roam around a living room. She doesn’t like being locked in a crate or a bedroom. Goldie is a bed hog if you let her sleep in bed with you, so fair warning. She is a super sweet girl and I hate to give her up. I can be reached through here or text at (xxx) xxx-xxxx .

Story
Tank is 2-3 years old. We got him from SD Humane Society after he was found wandering a school. I am a full-time medical student with a program that is growing in intensity, and my boyfriend, who is in the Navy, will be deploying soon. We thought we could handle taking care of a dog with our schedules and finances, but it is not turning out the way that we thought it would. He is an absolutely sweet and friendly dog! He loves to play and cuddle, walks well on a leash, and knows commands like sit, down, stay, leave it, shake, and high-five. He does have minor environmental and seasonal allergies that lead to dry skin and hives, and he is on apoquel for it. He does not care to be groomed. He will thrash around and run away, but he has never bitten me, my boyfriend, or the vet. We are looking for a couple who has a more consistent schedule and time for him, or a family where there are kids for him to run around and play with.

Story
Walter, who came to us with the name Hercules is the sweetest big baby and I love him so much! Though he has been with us a month and getting along great with our other pittie, weve realized he might have some anxiety which may have caused the fight he and our other dog got into. He did cause our other dog some injury and that’s why we have to rehome him, for her safety. They were great together until recently and in his former home he lived with other dogs. My husband and I travel for work, often one of us at a time but he seems to be stressed when one of us (especially me) leaves for a longer period of time (a few days). The anxiety was then taken out on the other dog unfortunately. He needs someone who will provide him with leash training as he’s still learning. He may have elbow dysplasia, we have him on some meds but might need surgery in the future. Overall he’s the sweetest cuddliest dog and just wants to be loved. He’d be a good only dog child (including kids).
