Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over. At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 28 pounds. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego

Story
Juliet is a very sweet, sociable, high-energy dog. She is very loving with adults, kids but can be slow to warm up to other dogs. She has lived with a male foster dog and a male dog that we own where they became great companions however, she is protective of her owners when out on walks/in public. Juliet has zero behavioral issues with humans. She has never bitten a human, does not have food aggression and will not bite if one were to touch food, water or toys. Juliet is a free spirit and we hope to find an owner/family who can accommodate to her needs. That being said, she’s very smart, can be sneaky and will escape if she sees an opportunity. She is almost cat-like because she gives affection when she wants and sometimes likes her own space. She is house and crate trained; and never had any accidents in the house! The knows the commands “sit, stay/wait (for food), lay down, crate, out, shake, rollover (when she feels like it”. She is both an indoor and outdoor dog.

Story
Queenie's foster is committed to helping her find a home. To begin the adoption process, please reach out to her foster directly at: FosterFurMommy@gmail.com How this pet arrived: Queenie was brought in by a community member. At SDHS:Queenie has been vaccinated, microchipped and is spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Meet sweet Queenie! We aren't positive, but we think she may be a mermaid trapped in an adorable dog's body - this girl is simply obsessed with water! When she's not playing in the sprinkler or drinking from the hose, she enjoys finding the coziest spot around and chewing on squeaky toys. If you want to feel like the most special person in the world, Queenie is your girl. That's because it takes her a little time to warm up to new people, but once she feels comfortable, you'll be welcomed into Queenie's inner circle - and she'll reward your patience with LOTS of kisses and unwavering loyalty! Because she can be nervous in new surroundings with unfamiliar people, Queenie is looking for a calm home where she can settle in, feel safe and thrive. And back to Queenie's inner circle, she appreciates friends who will go at her pace and respect her boundaries, so an adult-only home would be best. Queenie wants to settle into a loving family more than anything, and she's just waiting for compassionate adopters who will give her the time she needs to shine. If you can offer her the patience, consistency, snuggles and fun water activities she needs to thrive, please reach out to her foster at FosterFurMommy@gmail.com! Story
How this pet arrived: Winnie was brought in by a community member. At SDHS:Winnie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed and is now ready for her new home! Why Winnie might be the one for you: Isn't Winnie gorgeous with her striking white vest and darling ears? She is a big girl who may be shy when you first meet her, but don't let that fool you! She absolutely loves her people. Though she prefers to take things slow, with a little patience, she blossoms to reveal the loving companion our staff know her to be. Winnie has become a calm, mellow dog in our care. She has discovered that she likes calm over action. She takes her walks slowly and without drama. She likes outdoor space where she can meander at her pace. She will want a dog savvy owner in a quiet home and provides her a predictable routine. She would to curl up by her person's side and take many naps a day although rumor has it that she snores. She wants to continue learning new skills, as she's already mastered quite a few during her time in our care! We would love to tell you more about Winnie Please come to our campus and meet Winnie to see why you should give this lovely lady a chance!
