Story
Paco is a neutered male black and white Staffi/Lab mix. He is 18 months old and weighs 60 lbs. so he will be a big boy when fully grown. He has been raised in Mexico by a lovely family and all vaccines are up to date and he is housetrained. Paco has lots of energy! He would love a yard to run in and a friend to play with. He is good with other dogs although he is overly anxious during initial introductions. He currently lives with several other dogs. He has not been around cats. Paco is as sweet as can be and loves kids. He just wants to find his own person or family to love. Because he’s young, obedience training would help him be the best dog he can be. To meet Paco, contact Dana by email or text: dkmikel@gmail.com or text 760.519.5532.

How this pet arrived: Silvia was brought in by her previous owner on August 17, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Silvia, an adorable girl looking for her new home! She can be a bit nervous of new faces and places, so she'll thrive in a calm home without the hustle and bustle of young children. Silvia loves calm dogs and will need a furry companion to guide her - she's looking for a mellow, social dog who can help her feel more secure. If you have another pup at home, please bring them along for a meet-and-greet to ensure they hit it off! She has made great strides in our care and absolutely adores her walks, especially with her doggy friends! An enclosed outdoor space for potty breaks is a must to help her transition into her new home. If you're ready to show Silvia the love and patience she deserves, come by our Oceanside Campus and meet her today! We think her soft eyes and expressive face will melt your heart! Shy/Fearful Dog: Silvia requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her. Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: White Weight: 42.4 Age: 2yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Mullet was brought in by her previous owner on December 12, 2024. Why Mullet is the one for you:Meet Mullet, a lovely girl with a heart as big as her personality! This fun-loving pup is ready to be the life of the party wherever she is! She is one intelligent gal who is potty trained, crate trained, and a dream passenger in the car. Mullet knows a variety of commands like sit, stay, down, look, and even crawl-she's one smart cookie! While she can get a little overexcited at times, she's a quick learner and will thrive with some gentle guidance. Due to her excitable nature, she is looking for a home with older, sturdier children (over the age of 8) who won't get knocked over easily. Mullet has a history of guarding her items from other pets, so she'd thrive in a home without other dogs or cats. If you do have another pup, a meet-and-greet is a must to ensure they're a match. Mullet is ready to crawl her way into your heart! Think Mullet might be the one for you? Then come meet Mullet and don't forget to bring a leash and collar in case you hit it off! Story
How this pet arrived: Mufasa was brought in by a community member on December 10, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Mufasa, a sensitive soul looking for a patient and understanding family. He can be shy in new situations and around unfamiliar people, but with time - and a few tasty treats - he begins to open up. Once comfortable, Mufasa is a fun companion who enjoys attention, though he can get a little bouncy when excited. He has done well on social walks with other dogs in the shelter and may enjoy having a calm canine friend. Mufasa is crate trained and thrives in a structured home but isn't suited for busy environments like farmers markets due to his nervous nature. He needs a family, without young children, that will respect his space and allow him to adjust at his own pace, without pressure. If you're ready to offer a calm and supportive home, come meet Mufasa today - just be sure to bring the whole household! Story
How this pet arrived: Sadie was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on October 26, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Sadie, a lovable girl who's ready to bring a whole lot of joy and snuggles into your life! Sadie may be a bit slower these days, but she's still full of love, always ready to cuddle up on the couch and enjoy some good scratches while watching TV. Her easy-going nature makes her the perfect companion for someone who wants a laid-back dog with a sweet disposition. Sadie is perfectly happy in a smaller space, like a cozy apartment, and enjoys a couple of short walks each day at a leisurely pace. She's a dream on the leash and doesn't need a lot of activity to keep her content. She has enjoyed spending time around children but is looking for a home without other dogs. While she may be slow-moving most of the time, don't be fooled - she still has bursts of puppy joy, like when she gets the zoomies and shows off her playful side! She rarely barks, but she will give you a soft "woof" at the door when it's time to go outside. Sadie is potty-trained, well-mannered, and has a heart full of affection to offer. She'd be a wonderful fit for anyone seeking a calm, loving companion who can bring warmth and happiness to your home. While she does have some medical needs, including dental disease, arthritis, and a few suspected benign masses, she's still got so much to give. Sadie can't wait to find a family who will love her as much as she'll love them. If you're looking for a loyal friend to brighten your days, Sadie's your girl! Story
How this pet arrived: Manolo was brought in by his previous owner on December 29, 2024 Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Manolo, the energetic ball enthusiast with a zest for life and a talent for keeping you on your toes! This sweet boy lives for playtime-whether it's fetching, chasing, or simply showing off his pro-level ball-handling skills. He's a lovable goofball with a heart as big as his energy levels. Manolo's hobbies include pulling you on scenic tours during walks (he's a firm believer in cardio) and perfecting his "how high can I jump?" game when he's excited. But don't worry-turning your back and rewarding his chill vibes with attention is all part of the Manolo Management Plan. At home, Manolo can sometimes turn into a creative redecorator if left alone for too long, so he'd thrive in a household where he has company or plenty of mental stimulation. He's working on his mouthing during play (he says it's just part of the fun!) and learning to warm up to strangers at his own pace. Manolo is looking for a family without young children who will understand his quirks and are ready to continue his positive-reinforcement training journey. He'll need a harness that attaches from the front (ex. Easy Walk or Sensation harness) for more graceful walks and a well-puppy-proofed home to set him up for success. If you're ready for a lovable companion with the energy of a puppy and a heart full of potential, Manolo is waiting to be your MVP (Most Valuable Pup)! Don't forget to bring a leash and collar!Dog Reactive Dog and Excitable Dog:  Manolo requires two virtual behavior consults, please click HERE and HERE to learn more about him.
