Story
Courtesy Listing: A good Samaritan is asking for help saying: This young pittie was dumped here (in a small community close to Little Rock.) He's friendly, just wants love, does zoomies all over the place, and is a bit goofy too lol! He's been out here for at least 5 days that I know of. Looks like he has not been neutered. He has so much energy, but once he chills out for a few minutes, he knows how to sit, mostly when asked. He likes toys! I posted about him on Facebook for the last 4 days, but no one wants an extra dog. Are you able to help? If you are interested in this good fella, please fill out an online application, the first step in this process as we want to be sure he goes to a loving and responsible home. You can find a copy of that application here. An application does not obligate you to take him, but it does show that you are serious about the process. Please remember our organization is staffed completely by volunteers.

Story
Alexa came to OOTW due to a conflict between her and another dog in the home. It's really a sad situation ... There is a small, bossy dog in the home, a 20-pound rat terrier, who obviously has a very small brain. She likes to taunt Alexa and that's just not working out ... for the rat terrier. Yet it continues. So, after every avenue has been exhausted to stop this behavior, the owners have decided to rehome Alexa so she can be in a more relaxed home and live the life she deserves! Alexa is a 71-pound purebred pitbull who is absolutely beautiful and loving. The case coordinator just met her today and kisses were eagerly given all around! We did a photo shoot and, wow, what a great model she was ... really showing off for the camera (as you can see!) We also took her to the vet to bring her current on all vetting and she was exceptional with the vet even though needles were involved! She rides well in a car, she's okay on leash and she's great with other dogs (unless they are bossy, in-your-face-barking/snapping dogs, like she lives with in her current home ... and honestly, she is fine with this dog unless the dog starts growling, snapping and barking in her face.). She really enjoys other dogs her own size and is eager to play, play, play! She is a super fast runner and loves circling the field with other dogs who like to run along side her! Alexa enjoys the water too and likes to wade and splash in water. We believe she would do well at a dog park and enjoy that immensely!Alexa is current on all vetting is heartworm negative. She is crate trained and will crate up the instant she is given her command! She is 100% house trained and knows basic commands. This girl is a beauty and just needs a home where she doesn't have to live with bratty little bossy dogs. Alexa is currently in a home with a 2 year old child and is just fine with the child. She's a beautiful girl with a beautiful personality! If you are interested in this sweet girl, please start with the adoption application. The link is just below. Adoption fee is $150!To make the best possible match for you and the pet, please follow the link below to complete the Adoption Application. Doug is a fun two year old pit mix found abandoned on a street in West Memphis. He was significantly underweight. He is great with cats and other dogs. He loves to protect his person and needs slow introductions to new people. He would do best in a one adult household, ideally with another dog. Doug enjoys runs, tug of war, and car rides. He is also a bit of a couch potato and has a mostly calm or low key energy inside. He knows sit, lay, shake, and free (release word to eat food).

Story
Gobbler is a handsome ginger colored mixed breed dog whose estimated DOB is 9/1/2021 and on 11/25/2024 he weighed in at 39.5 pounds. He was brought to us after being found on the side of the road. The finder tells us that Gobbler is good with dogs, not aggressive or food aggressive, is housetrained and loves to cuddle once he warms up. We can verify that he is timid, and very, very sweet. Gobbler is timid and scares or startles easily, so he will need a loving and patient human. Once you earn his trust, you will have a canine lap warmer for the cold winter. Talk about puppy dog eyes... just look at him! Come meet sweet little Gobbler today and give him the love and trust that he so deserves. Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Story
Meet Nyla, a loving and playful 2-year-old Pitbull Terrier mix who wears the title of "mom" with pride. Nyla's vibrant spirit shines through in her playful antics and her deep affection for belly rubs. When the excitement of playtime kicks in, she has a cute habit of gently taking your hand in her mouth, showing her eagerness for some interactive fun. Nyla has been making great progress in her leash training, proving her willingness to learn and adapt. Baths might not be her favorite activity, as she's a bit wary of water, but her courageous spirit is helping her overcome her fears one step at a time. She's also conquered her initial trepidation of wearing a collar and being on a leash, showing her determination to embrace new experiences. This sweet girl is a fan of knotted ropes and treats - two things that always bring a sparkle to her eyes. While she's currently enjoying the company of her housemates, we're still exploring her comfort level around other dogs. With time and patience, we hope to see Nyla's social circle expand. Nyla's journey is one of growth and transformation, and she's ready to continue that journey with a loving forever family. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with affection and make every moment a joyful one, Nyla might just be the perfect match for you. Open your heart to Nyla and discover the true meaning of unconditional love and companionship. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
