Story
Snickers (A136594) is a 1-year-and-6-month-old Pitbull x Cattle Dog mix who weighed 42.3 pounds on intake!11/12/24 This playful pup is Snickers! Snickers was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of her own. Her prior owners had wonderful things to share about this pretty lady! Snickers was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate pup. She was said to do well with children, strangers, and adults but has no history around babies or toddlers. Snickers did previously live with another dog and was said to have done well with him. She has no experience around cats, pocket pets, or livestock. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with any and all new potential friends. Snickers loves to play with squeaky toys and is very toy driven. She is also a very smart girl and knows a variety of commands like: sit, laydown, shake, move, etc. However, she is still eager to learn and show off how intelligent she is! Snickers is looking for a home that can continue to keep her both mentally and physically stimulated. She may enjoy having some interactive toys in her next home! Snickers was also stated to be kennel trained, housebroken, and to ride well in a car! If you are interested in meeting this beautiful girl, please let us know! November 16, 2024, 8:26 pm

Story
Nala is a very lovey dog who appreciates spending quality time with her people. She is incredibly affectionate but may need a moment to get to know you a little better! She loves attention and does great with handling. From the sounds of it, Nala has had a couple different homes recently and we can’t help but wonder why they didn’t stick for her! Everyone always has always had such nice things to say about her. Nala is potty trained and will whine at the door when she needs to go out. She is crate trained but in her most recent home her owners kept her outside when alone. Unfortunately for Nala she is not built for the cold weather like some other dogs may be so we recommend sticking to crating! Nala walks well on a leash and knows the cues “sit”, “stay”, “down”, “treat”, “come”, “off” and “drop it”. Nala would thrive best with regular exercise and playtime in her new home. Her favorite game to play is fetch and will fetch just about anything! Nala has done great with children and gets along well with other dogs too! We can accommodate a dog meet and greet if needed. Nala is most likely not suited for a home with small animals because she has been known to stalk kitties. If you believe your home would be a good fit for Nala, we encourage you to come by and meet her!

Story
Zorro is a happy and friendly dude. He loves meeting new people and has yet to meet someone he doesn’t like! Zorro has been friendly towards other dogs and appears to want to play. Zorro did arrive to the shelter as a stray so we do not know if he has lived with other animals, but we can provide a dog meet and greet if needed! Zorro has been on his best behavior and is a people pleaser. He is still learning new things but is doing great! Zorro knows the cue “sit” and walks well on a leash. We don’t know if Zorro is completely potty trained, but we anticipate him doing well once he has a more regular routine! Zorro has medium energy. He will be happiest with regular exercise and playtime! He always enjoys going on a nice walk, but this weather has been a little chilly for him! Zorro is wiggly and has the cutest little happy trot. He has a happy go lucky personality and is patiently waiting to find his forever home!

Story
Archer is a 4-year-old pit and Lapponian herder (close relative to a Norwegian elkhound) mix who weighed nearly 70lbs at intake!11/08/24 This handsome lovebug is Archer, and he is looking for a home where he can be the only animal. In his previous home, Archer had been getting along fine with the other dogs until his best friend passed away a few months ago. Since then, Archer has become increasingly intolerant toward the other dogs in the home, especially around food. We reccomend Archer be at least the only dog in his next home. He does not have experience with cats, but his previous owner did not think he would do well with them either due to his high prey drive toward small animals and livestock. Archer was said to do wonderful with small kids and babies! He was described as being gentle when playing, and he's very good at alerting to strangers by barking. His previous owner said he would bark at strangers walking by if the kids were out playing in the yard, and he will bark initially if a stranger enters the house but calms down after he gets to know them. He was said to mind well and do well in the car. He is also said to be kennel trained and housebroke, though he may mark occasionally when first introduced into a new home. Archer is a sensitive guy who loves his people and hates hard floors! He will bark at tile and hardwood floors if there is not a rug for him to walk on! He can be a vocal and has been known to get into the trash if given the opportunity, but he makes up for it with his cuddles! If you are looking for a single dog that wants to cuddle up and be the center of your world, give the shelter a call about Archer!November 11, 2024, 8:56 pm
